If you notice that a particular Hilljack CD release or compilation is missing from the list above, please submit that CD using the CD submission page. The ultimate goal is to make the discographies here at Heavy Harmonies as complete as possible. Even if it is an obscure greatest-hits or live compilation CD, we want to add it to the site. EPs and CD-singles from Hilljack are also welcome to be added, as long as they are at least 4 songs in length.

"Hilljack" must be a regional caret word. The only other place I've heard it aside from this band is in writings of Donald Ray Pollock, also from Ohio. It means redneck or hillbilly, the same way people from New York or Pennsylvania will use the word "woodchuck" to mean the same thing. Hilljack the band is Michael Hannon's pre-American Dog project, and already, his vision is clear. This is some seriously rough-and-ready rock 'n' roll here, influenced by the heaviest American bands of the '70's but with a snootful of Lemmy's speed. In some ways, this disc is actually better than A.D.'s own Last Of A Dying Breed, although Steve Theado's guitar firepower and Keith Pickens's drum wizardry are both missed. Several songs would continue to be live staples for the Dog, like "Too Damn Sober" and "Human Garbage C." A cool, obscure little disc, but only for those who like this kind of music. The melodic-rock crowd are advised to steer well clear.
