If you notice that a particular Penny Black CD release or compilation is missing from the list above, please submit that CD using the CD submission page. The ultimate goal is to make the discographies here at Heavy Harmonies as complete as possible. Even if it is an obscure greatest-hits or live compilation CD, we want to add it to the site. Please only submit official CD releases; no bootlegs or cassette-only or LP-only releases.
EPs and CD-singles from Penny Black are also welcome to be added, as long as they are at least 4 songs in length.

|What's 3 feet tall, with wild eyes, and will rip your balls off? Why, a killer dwarf of course! This album answers the question of what ever happened to at least one of the Killer Dwarfs. Russ Graham fronts the band, and it sounds (surprise!) a lot like I remember da Dwarfs. This is straight ahead melodic '80s hard rock. No frills. No apologies. It's perhaps not quite as ballsy as the early material, but heck, it's 15 years later fer Chrissake!!!|
That being said, this is quite a solid effort! Very melodic at times, rocking at other times. Most of the songs are mid-tempo numbers. The band is tight, and the use of harmony vocals on the choruses is effective. Production is solid. Quite the mature effort without resorting to that (horrible IMO) '90s sound. If you're looking for a contemporary, perhaps slightly subdued, midget attack, you will not be disappointed with this effort.

|Penny Black is the new project for ex-Killer Dwarf's vocalist Russ Graham. Given that fact, Penny Black aren't that far removed from that classic old Canadian band in places, but generally is a more mature acoustic driven pop rock outfit. Russ' vocals are as gruff as ever, that raspy hard living tone that only good rockers seem to have. Not essential for every Killer Dwarfs fan. One for the acoustic driven straight ahead pop/rock fans.|
