By far the best Hair Of The Dog cd. I got an autographed copy when I saw them open for Ratt a few years ago. The guys in the band were awesome and sat down after the show to drink beers and bullshit with everyone. Interesting note is that Steve Vai and John Sepetys are best of friends. His sister Ruta is Steve's manager. John sadly had to leave the band after the Rise cd due to an illness with his fretting hand going numb. He's a great guy and one hell of a guitar player. Good Luck John!!

I probably ran into you at that show Reno. It was at The Medina Entertainment Center. Stephen Pearcy came out to our table and chatted for a while. Pretty nice guy. I got my cd autographed as well after the Hair Of The Dog set. Ryan Cook is hilarious. Great bunch of guys and they can put the beer away too!!!

I saw these guys open for Cinderella a few years back. They rocked pretty good. Great rockin time, and a kick ass vibe and beat to there music, its kinda in your face heavy, but at the same time its kinda groovy. I loved "Cadillac Jack" the most from there set.

I saw these guys open for Cinderella at the Medina. It was a great show. I bought their CD at that show and had the band sign it. Nice guys and a good album!

Man is this a solid debut release. It's good to hear a band just play rock and roll again. 'The Party Ain't Over' has been my anthem since this album came out.

Man, I just got this cd, and I was so pleased upon hearing Cadillac Jack. But then it went downhill from there. They start mixing in blues, funky riffs, and slow parts instead of just playing straight-ahead ass kickin rock n roll. I wish bands would just play balls-out anthemic straight ahead hard rock instead of dicking around with cute lil funky hooks.

Great debut album. I met them as well when they opened for Ratt in Denver. Super nice guys, you used to be able to e-mail them directly and they would actually respond. Too bad they've split up. 'As I am' and 'Party Ain't Over' are standouts on this album. The other two are solid releases as well but this is my favorite.

This is real no-frills, blue-collar rock 'n' roll. Similar to Jackyl, but much more "workmanlike," I guess you could say. Also kinda reminds me of Ugly Kid Joe. Heavy bass grooves galore, and a bit of an "updated" '80's metal sound. "Cadillac Jack," "Southern Cock," "The Party Ain't Over" and "Monster" are my favorites. A good, but not spectacular album.

This is a very good album by an virtually unknown band. They were in concert locally here or I never would have heard of them. Cadillac Jack is absolutetly a killer track...Whiskey Tango and Southern Cock are also very good songs. For a debut this is great but it made me expect more from them on the next albums. The second was good but not as good as this one and I really did not care for Ignite at all. 84/100

Some good 'ol kick ass hard rock right here.Saw em open for "Motorhead" several years ago and wasn't dissapointed.."the farmer'd gone and the rooster was ready to rock, his mother hen with the big daddy southern cock"......great disc!

excellent debut for HAIR OF THE DOG back in 97 with a sweet guitar driven hard rock sound with big riffs and lots of groove somewhere between BRITNY FOX and KISS in an updated 90s rough production!"as i am","this party aint over","monster" are fine songs indeed and overall a nice 90 s hard rock indie recommended for all

Hey! If you've been looking for this band on Apple Music (or, I assume, other streaming services) and couldn't find 'em? Search for H.O.T.D. and you might just find a compilation from 2020 called Big Bones. It's got seven tracks from each of the first two albums and a couple from the much-less-impressive Ignite, and I would say it includes most of what you need from the band. I still enjoy Hair of the Dog occasionally. They could have been as big as Buckcherry circa 1999 (and apparently were, at least in parts of the Midwest), but just didn't have the label backing. I didn't hear of them until Rise, when I read about them online, but this first album would have been very welcome in '98. I guess, where I live, Funny Money was our equivalent back then.

I saw these guys open for Ratt in about '97 and went out the next day and got the S/T album. VERY GOOD hard rock for that era. This was about a year before I found out about all of the Euro bands that were playing what I loved like PC69 and Jaded Heart, amongst a lot of other bands.
