David if You think that is a hottie singing on this cd then I suggest You strap a hubcap on your ass for protection cuz it's a guy and ya don't wanna be getting to personal about knowing everything about the singer . . . . (Read the top post) . . .The guy is Thanking You for having interest in him . . . . . . . I know damn well he is not thanking me cuz I just made my post so it must be You!!

From: David Date: September 16, 2002 at 21:06
Sorry Purrfect-Kat for asking a quetion. I haven't heard this band before, in the country that I live in Kelly is a girls name, that's all. After all that crap you just said that didn't make any sence, why don't you just do a normal review.

Re: "Are these guys serious? This has to be a joke....please say it's a joke. My whole office is laughing this is so funny..... " -- Yes, we were serious. It was a good time, and between the women and the traveling (Steady on the road for several years) and the CD, it was some of the funnest days of my life. Btw - you can catch me here now: http://alienetworks.com - I founded it during the dot-com craze, and did real well. Don't make me buy your office and kick you to the curb, K?

Hi Rick, Sean...it's amazing what bands you can find on the intenet with just a name search. And with such current posts to the message board! I will have to say for the genre of music these guys played they used to tear it up pretty darn good. Does anybody know where Tim Perry is these days, I miss his facial expressions when he sings. Who am I you ask???? Hmmm...the good ole days for these guys. These words bring back memories: HayHead HYMP-House Spanky's Nasty Jack

From: Stephen Date: January 8, 2003 at 8:38
I remember this band, back in the day. The singer was a penis.

From: JIFFI "GUTTERCA Date: July 22, 2003 at 0:10
I saw them at the FLAMING MUG BAR while i was in the 82nd airborne division. They KICKED ASS!!! I'm the dude who always yelled "PLAY DARK CLOUD" & "HANGING TREE!!!" The mug was never the same after the band had personell changes Kelly is a killer frontman...at least they knew who BUSTER BROWN was!! I still jam to the c.d. all the time

From: Kim Harrison Date: February 19, 2004 at 20:57
I know first hand this is a great band and they rock! I was a big groupie. So much so that I married the bass player! Regrettably, we'er no longer together Btw, where can I get a copy of the CD? Saharak7@yahoo.com

From: kim Date: February 20, 2004 at 1:55
I forgot to mention, there was a particular song that did not make this album that was the most real and honest work that they did. It clearly stated what the heartfelt journey is for a musician to follow the passion of music and not have it appreciated. That song was A Ship to Nowhere. It always had many requests wherever they played for all the obvious reasons

From: Tim Perry Date: May 27, 2004 at 18:38
Hi Everyone! I hope this posting finds you all well. The making of this record was one of the absolute best times of my life. The original vocalist didn't quite meet the standards of the Nashville producer that we flew in to critique the project, so we went vocalist hunting and found Kelly in Michigan. His style was so different, that I kept only Never Coming Home, and wrote all the rest of the songs in 3 weeks to meet a deadline. I'm quite proud of the finished product. Hope it brought U Joy!

From: Tim Perry Date: May 27, 2004 at 18:53
To Sean, Rick, Dave & Kelly: Thanx from the heart of my bottom!!! I mean... uh, well, you know what I mean. Sid, how the hell are U? To the person who misses the funny faces I make when I sing, I make those in bed, too. Hey, didn't you ask me to prove it one time? I'm living in Minnesota, the single father of a beautifull 2&a/half year old son I named Logan. I still play music, and I've recorded 3 solo albums for myself. Any one who wants to email me, timnu@hotmail.com Hayhead, where are you?

From: anamal Date: May 28, 2004 at 11:41
Tim..can u set me up with an original release of NEVER COMING HOME..i have been trying unsuccessfully to acquire it........

From: MButt Date: July 7, 2004 at 1:06
Wow, got this cd today, and man does it rock!! standout tracks are GYPSY TRAIN, LAST DAYS OF BABYLON, & BONE DANCE but the whole thing is incredible. Super tough to find, but well worth the effort. I have tons of cd's in my collection and I would have to say this one is in my top 5, thats right, the top 5, out of thousands of cd's, better than most of the big time indies out there. hell it's better than the cd's on big labels. in my opinion a masterpiece!!

From: JIFFI ENEMY Date: October 2, 2004 at 10:52

Thanx for all the good comments about the C.D. Too bad the thing is out of print. I guess for all of us who own one, it will be a prized possesion as time goes by. By the way, how the hell did I end up in northern Minnesota anyway? I miss the south!!! Myrtle Beach, Key West,Va. beach,Panama city etc.. It's f#*%&$G cold up here!!!!!

From: the game Date: May 24, 2005 at 9:56
Good basic hard rock, but nothing really new and not worth the high price of $200.00. Highlights are the songs Last Days of Babylon, Bone Dance and Here Comes Trouble. Rated 7/10.

From: Devan Date: September 18, 2005 at 22:00
Random Google searches turn up the strangest things. I had the great pleasure of hearing these guys rehearse and even have an old cassette tape of one of those old rehearsals that I found recently. Sean, you know I adore you always & will love you forever. Tim and Dave, you both better damn well remember me! *grin* Rick and Kelly, I remember you... Devan xsyntrik@bellsouth.net

From: saharak7 Date: December 3, 2005 at 23:39
I just won an "official" copy of Blind Gypsy although it is a cassette, I'm very happy with getting a copy other than my old (12 years?) copy of taped recordings and rehearsals (As Tim stated even that taped version is a prized possesion)What a great band and a great bunch of guys. A shout out to Tim and Dave, I never forget you two! Kim

From: saharak7 Date: August 26, 2006 at 14:14

I remember this band & expecially the lead singer Kelly quite well! Every time they came to Spanky's in Charleston WV the ROCKED! LOVED the original stuff, but have to say, you did "Man In the Box" almost better than Alice N Chains! Good times!!

From: stevekellyjr Date: December 24, 2008 at 19:31
Talk about a blast from the past? Google is my friend! Tim, Sean, Rick, Sid, Devin, Kim - I miss all of you folks and the wild times we used to have at Spankys and Grumpys. I'm still somewhat involved in the music scene and have noticed it starting to come back around in some of our old haunts. If anyone wants to get in touch: myspace.com/stevekellyjr email: stevekellyjr@suddenlink.net cell: 3045323594

From: rallen399 Date: September 21, 2010 at 18:47
These guys F***ing Rock. Its hard to compare them to other bands they have there own sound, the singer reminds me of the guy from Humble Pie and I guess thats the band I would compare them to.Almost every song kicks ass.I see the band has found this sight thats great but you guys should put out some new stuff with the different record companies finally realizing that your kind of rock is what we want to hear and buy.I'm sure everyone has gone their own way but it's something to think about,I'd be in line to buy that. This cd highly recomended 9/10.

From: Doghouse Reilly Date: March 1, 2011 at 20:38
This is an okay disc, but, like Teeze and Crystal Roxx and the like, one of those "you had to be there" kind of bands. Big fish in a small pond, you know. They remind me a little of Dangerous Toys, and a little bit of Child's Play. The singer's okay, but tries a little too hard, the music pretty basic. When you're in a bar and slamming beer and the music's loud, I bet it sounds pretty damn good, but on disc seventeen years later, adn never having been part of "the scene," I'm not overwhelmed.

From: Doghouse Reilly Date: March 1, 2011 at 20:40
It was fun reading the band guys and their assorted groupies from days gone by on here, though.

From: rallen399 Date: May 11, 2011 at 20:40
Out of the hundreds of cd I have recently gotten from all the re-issue labels(Retrospect,Eonion etc) this is one of the best along with Lorraine,Black Bambi,Bad Angels,Jones Street,Monkeyhead,Charlotte,Jester.Gypsy Blue,Hard Knox,Kelley's Heroes and Medicine Wheel.Blind Gypsy is in the top 5 of my cds.Highly Highly recommended.97/100.

From: rallen399 Date: August 28, 2011 at 21:51
Does anyone know what happened to the lead singer Kelly Jones? What a voice,I wander if he sang with any other bands?Along with John Lorraine of Lorraine-Boys Night Out they have the best gravely high pitched vocals I've heard.Right up there with Bon Scott/Brian Johnson.

From: Sick_Of_It_All Date: October 1, 2015 at 18:00
I own both versions of this disc... The Retrospect reissue & then I obtained an original copy by a stroke of luck for FREE. I have to say the original is definitely better. Much better sound quality. Anyway, I don't give 2 shits about the negative replies... This album rocks HARD!. I have 1200+ CDs in my collection & this one gets played all the time, even after owning it for years now. It's crazy, right now there's an original on ebay for $750! lol

From: 123charpenay Date: October 3, 2015 at 2:03
great hard rock n roll with a southern influence.but the singer have a very special voice.not my cup of tea.750 dollars,650 euros for this cd?some people on ebay are totally crazy!!!!!!
