The best version of Astronomy that I have heard so far is on this album.

Between bootlegs and official recordings, BOC has a lot of live material released. Junk it all except for this disc. One of the best rock-based party albums ever produced. This cd captures the intensity of the vintage Cult line-up that created the loyal following they still enjoy today. All cuts are good, but the standouts are ETI, Astronomy and Kick Out The Jams. If you only want to get one album from BOC and can't stand compilation discs, this is for you. Take it from Yer Uncle Davy...

this live is so cool.fenomenal versions of classic boc stuff.great album.

Fast paced, it contrasts from the heavier "On Your Feet or On Your Knees". This album has party all over it and it rocks hard.

From: Blackmore #1 Date: June 15, 2003 at 4:36
Not as raw and heavy as "On Your Feet or on Your Knees" but still worth getting.Kick out the Jams is great.Guitar solo on "Don't Fear" is intense, better than the studio version which is still good.

This cd is for me the definative live BOC. Full on enery with great songs-I can almost smell the atmosphere-and a great tacky cover to boot!!

Great album. These live versions are better than the studio versions. THE supreme versions of "ETI" and "Astronomy". Gotta love Buck Dharma's sizzling leads also. BOC was a better live band than studio band, no doubt.

I've always preferred live over studio, especially with the recording. Masterly done.

From: Adam Blackheart Date: February 26, 2006 at 12:32
Great live album but, damn, too SHORT!!!!!!! Excellent versions of ETI and ASTRONOMY, bau, damn, damn, damn, too short!!!!! It was the beat BOC era and it deserves full lenght live album with "all the aces on the table".

hey all, just picked up the newly released legacy version with 7 bonus tracks that were indended for the original release! it also comes with a hour long dvd from 1978 as well! and a big time expanded booklet as well. the bonus tracks on this are m e 262, harvester of eyes, hot rails to hell, summer of love,5 guitars, born to be wild, and we gotta get out of this place alt. version. and they all smoke!!! this was a top 3 live album for me before this and now it moves ahead of all. 10/10

Listening to this album again and changing my verdict toward it.Decent live recording but somehow weak at the very end, track "E.T.I." is my all time fave as what the song represents itself and #1,5 & 6 can also be in my bag but i have heard stronger versions of all the aforementioned ones.70/100 🙂
