If you notice that a particular Blue Oyster Cult CD release or compilation is missing from the list above, please submit that CD using the CD submission page. The ultimate goal is to make the discographies here at Heavy Harmonies as complete as possible. Even if it is an obscure greatest-hits or live compilation CD, we want to add it to the site. I happen to own this compilation. In one word: IT SUCKS!!! Okay, that was two words. Anyway, find a better Blue Oyster Cult compilation than this one, whatever you do. I would recommend buying one of those "double cd" greatest hits sets, if you're interested in hearing BOC's "best". Avoid this one. Otherwise, you've out ten bucks and nobody's gonna pay you back. Just a piece of advice from the mighty dokken6008.

Rule #1: Never buy a CD that features re-recorded versions of original hits. Rule #2: Beware of tribute CDs on Deadline. Rule #3: Don't fear the reaper.

Not bad. But yawn, buy a different CD, if you must have a compilation. Better yet, buy their regular albums, you are missing out on wwaaayyy to much!

It should have "Dominance and Submission" on it.

I agree wholeheartedly with Koogles reference rerecording old songs, it is bad EXCEPT in this case Flaming Telepaths sounds absolutely wonderful with a fresh coat of paint. The only other version of this track that I love was a live version on the 12" b side of Burnin for you (with Dr Music). Eric Bloom sings with real menace on that one. "and the jokes................on you"

Compilations get old. Regroup!

Three original memebers are present here on this re-recorded sort of best of type cd. The Bouchard Brothers are gone, however, i like this for the lead vocal replacement of Eric Bloom for Albert Bouchard on "Cities On Flame". Albert was no singer. Bloom has always been the bands definitive voice and should have sang on the original.

I don't get the criticism some are expressing for this title: it is what it is, not a compilation but the band with the 1994 line up rerecording some of the hits; a lot of bands did this basically I think, the free the rights to use those songs when playing live instead of paying old record companies, etc. The new versions sound strong and you get a studio version of Buck's boogie that until then was only available as a b side to a single. Ok it's for completists but it's an interesting cd.
