If you see any errors or omissions in the CD information shown above, either in the musician credits or song listings (cover song credits, live tracks, etc.), please post them in the corrections section of the Heavy Harmonies forum/message board.

The music discographies on this site are works in progress. If you notice that a particular Dog Tag CD release or compilation is missing from the list above, please submit that CD using the CD submission page. The ultimate goal is to make the discographies here at Heavy Harmonies as complete as possible. Even if it is an obscure greatest-hits or live compilation CD, we want to add it to the site. Please only submit official CD releases; no bootlegs or cassette-only or LP-only releases.

EPs and CD-singles from Dog Tag are also welcome to be added, as long as they are at least 4 songs in length.

Heavy Harmonies Review
From: Dan Date: March 16, 2003 at 23:57
Here's a bunch of youngsters out of Ingolstadt, Germany, producing a blend of modern rock and traditional AOR/hard rock. The album is produced by Bonfire's Clauss Lessmann. Instrumentally, it most definitely falls into the camp of "modern" melodic rock, as opposed to traditional '80s hard rock, yet the choruses are true to the melodic layered style we've come to expect and appreciate. If you like today's radio-friendly melodic rock efforts (Foo Fighters, Matchbox 20), you'll appreciate the instrumental underpinnings of the group's arrangements, yet the choruses will appeal to fans of Firehouse and modern-day Bon Jovi.

The production is well done, and there's some some interesting orchestration done periodically (brass making an occasional cameo appearance). Most of the tracks are midtempo rockers, but one of the standout tracks is a ballad, the huge Cry For Me (which you can hear as part of the streaming audio feed on this site). The modern-sounding cover of Bananarama's Venus actually works quite well, and is extremely well executed. So if you want a taste of the modern melodic rock sound, yet don't wand to forsake the vocal hooks that we all know and love, definitely check out this band. Considering this is their freshman effort, they could be HUGE!

Rating: 91/100
