Heavy Harmonies Review | |

This is another Spanish band, putting out a blend of slightly proggy hard rock. It's adventuresome, but in all honesty it doesn't really grab me. The lead vocals are a bit coarse for my taste, and there are some quasi-modern elements that just don't sit well with me (to each their own). That being said, there are some melodic elements that pop up from time to time throughout that give a glimpse into what this *could* be. The musical performances are quite tight, so I can't find fault there; it's just that stylistically this disc seems really fragmented. In addition to the prog elements, at times there's a bit of blues hard rock tossed about. Maybe a blend of Whitesnake and late-era Dream Theater? I'm sorry to say it just doesn't grab me. Sorry, guys. Rating: 70/100 |
