Brian Howe: INMENSO. Fue lo mejor que le podía pasar a Bad Company.

Decent effort from Bad Company Mk 2. Highlights are the title track, "Tell It Like It Is," and "Burning Up." Not as heavier as their other material, this one tends to be reminiscient of Huey Lewis, but it's still enjoyable.

Estoy de acuerdo con vosotros,es el disco mas melódico de Bad Company,el cantante mola, los discos que vendrian despues aunque siguen teniendo buenos temas,ya llevarian ese sonido rockerillo que tanto le gusta al señor T.Thomas.

Really can't see the Huey Lewis comparisons. The best way to describe FAME & FORTUNE is that Bad Co. were playing it safe. Rather than going back to their heavier bluesy style, they put out an album of appealing albeit generic 80s pop rock. Well... maybe it is just like Huey Lewis.

I haven´t heard really much Bad Co.´s ealier releases, but I think this record started more 80´s style AOR than it was before. By the way, I have always tought that AOR means "Adul Oriented Rock" and Heavy Harmonies says it means "Album Oriented Rock". Well, I don´t see really much difference and I don´t complane, but that I was always tought. Really good Lp and I enjoy listen to this and I think, when I´m enough "adult" myself, I think this record is playing in my stereos very much...

Xcellent - Bad Co. goes Foreigner, is the nearest comparison, not surprising as Mick Jones was exec producer. Brian Howe does an excellent 'Lou Gramm' throughout the ten strong songs. Nice one

Huey Lewis?????? Did you listen to this album at all? It's heavier than Huey ever got and it packs a big punch like Huey never did. It's a great album and is of it's time. If you want bluesy hard rock then forget it and go back to Paul Rodgers era BC. This is big, ballsy stadium rock of the higfhest order. Excellent album. 9 / 10

Their followup albums with Brian Howe were an improvement over this. Not that I don't like this album, but the songs just kinda blend into each other with nothing really standing out. It's alright. Just typical mid-80s rock and nothing more.

Popular move in the 80s. Take a band that was popular in the 60s or 70s. (You know... Starship, Chicago, Heart, Peter Frampton etc.) Proceed to insert nozzle into orifice, choose a suitable octane and pump full of AOR. Bad Company knew this rule and decided to match wits with Foreigner. Although this CD didn't connect commercially like later ones, it's a good start. "That Girl" and "Valerie" are hidden gems. "Fame & Fortune" & "This Love" were well-deserved rock radio hits from an underrated CD.

Bought this on tape back in '86 right before the Air Force shipped my sorry ass to Korea. I hated having it on tape because I pretty much only liked songs 1-5 and would constantly rewind. Valarie is pretty good too though. I actually like this better than Dangerous Age but not as much as Holy Water.

Fantastic record. Brian has such a great voice. The perfect voice for BC. Burning Up, Fame and Fortune and If i am Sleeping are exellent rock songs. This Love, That Girl, Tell it like it Is, Hold on my hear and Valerie are brilliant AOR songs. Great album. But the the albums(Dangerous Age and Holy Water )following up to this one are even a step up. Great band but the match up with Brian Howe gave em something magical. 90/100

Much softer and in the vein of Foreigner this one which isn't surprising since Mick Jones co-wrote a few of the songs and was the producer of the album. The best tracks are Hold On My Heart and When We Made Love.
