this is one of those albums that need a couple of listenings to really appreciate the quality of the material but dont fear as this is a pretty good aor release in the vein of phil vincent.recommended to those who like their aor smooth but with enough bite to keep the hard rocker happy!. |

Dear 9 CHAMPIONS A 1 as you've been said the original it's from 88 and I have to say the production on the 80's one is really good(without been great)you can really appreciate all the keys(wich are quite enough!!)Generally speaking the comparison with Stan Bush really stands-up even with his earlier's works! and with a 5-10$ average price it's truly worth to track this one down and grab it. To my personal judgement: an outstanding bright work.(remember it was the 88'!!!) |

As I've said previously in some reviews, when recording good AOR there is no need to castrate yourself before recording and I would take this over a Beau Coup or I-Ten, Toto or the like any day. This is great, pure AOR but it is not as soft as a pillow painted with pink love hearts. It's not heavy, but there is guitar and it's got a great sound and the songs are awesome. Beautiful melodic rock and not a track I dislike. Highly recommended for AOR lovers who still desire the Rock part of AOR. |

Pretty standard AOR-fare this from the ex-Cheap Trick man. All the tracks are good 80's sounding AOR with loads of hi-tech sounding keys, but only 'Facing the Fire' is a standout. The bonus tracks (demos) on the re-issue are pretty poor also. Average stuff IMO. Not sure why Westcoast legend Jason Scheff would've bothered turning up for this... 6/10. |

Just played this again to see why I kept it. Some quality rock/AOR with better then average vocals. All tracks worth hearing but #1, 2, 3, and 7 are my favorites. |

track 4 "million miles away" had been covered by big mouth in 1997 on their record "hands of time". |
