This strange little EP got a re-release in 2013 with a reshuffled tracklist. It doesn't stand out among the mountains of material released during the 80s, and a lot of that has to do with a lack of identity. The band didn't seem certain of what sort of music they wanted to make. Were they big band-inspired pop? Westcoast? Traditional AOR? They decided to go with everything, dramatically altering their style from song to song, and consequently every track feels pretty halfhearted. I enjoyed the mellow sweetness of "Right Lines" and overall like Clive Palmer's voice, but the the inconsistent and underwhelming songwriting keeps this one down. |
