| If you haven't heard of Windsor Drive, that's probably because they've previously been marketed as an indie rock band - a label that's as ill-fitting as calling them an AOR outfit. This is modern pop rock with some melrock attributes, in the vein of BBMak or Wave. The CD is a compilation of three EPs released between 2010 and 2012, and for better or worse, they decided to front-load the album with some of their least memorable tracks. "Going Under" thru "Under the Weather" are unremarkable, mid-tempo pop songs. Kipp Wilde's soft vocals almost put you to sleep. "Wish Me Well" mixes things up with a hi-tech sound, and "Skin to Skin" finally gives us a slightly more rocking pace with a decent chorus. They more or less maintain this standard for the remaining runtime, ending with the layered and atmospheric "Chasing Shores," but this will still be something of a niche in this community. Check it out if Mikael Erlandsson is too raucous for you.
