superb aor on the handshake label. Can anyone out there re-release this album for the sake of our music?.This album is very very rare to find these days so if you are lucky enough to find a copy dont think twice and grab it even if you have to pay big bucks for it as this is one very special album.

Both of you are right! It´s very difficult to find (I think only in cd-r) and is IMHO a true AOR masterpiece. All the songs are very, very good: Sweet Devotion, I Don´t Want to leave you, the fantastic pomp of Make it Right, the hard rocking Love on the Line (like Rainbow with Turner!) and one of the most beautiful ballads that I have listened to: I Need you Now. If you like pure aor like Franke and Ko´s, I-Ten, Preview, Dakota, Tycoon...THIS IS A MUST (10/10)

From: Rycheage Date: April 6, 2004 at 22:38
I would have wished the album to feature a few more rockers, but I should note that ‘Alliance’ remains very listenable and is well worth tracking down.

From: aorjocke Date: April 7, 2004 at 8:30
YES, this is truly an AOR/Westcoast masterpiece!!I am lucky to have a copy of it, because it is really a rare one.Mark Bucchare voice is just brilliant and so are the production. There are some fantastics songs on it, like "Heaven Can Wait", "Make It Right"(one of the best AOR songs EVER! and "Love on the Line"..For all fans of "Dakota" and "Shelter - First Stop" kind of AOR.

From: Bucchare Date: May 4, 2004 at 6:27
One of my favorite records. Perfect mix of early Pomp AOR/Westcoast. Not far away from Franke and The Knockouts first record.

From: Gerry Date: May 6, 2004 at 1:04
Great work back then. Very enjoyable now. Would be wonderful to get the original artists together for a sequel.

From: AOR freaky Date: May 6, 2004 at 10:51
Not bad at all, this Alliance. Good AOR and indeed, not easy to find. Give the later Alliance also a chance guys !

I saw at Black Sabbaths hompage that Tony Martin from Black Sabbath sang in this group before he join Sabbath in 87´.

From: Bill Date: November 18, 2004 at 12:49
What a discovery!!! I have always heard about this masterpiece but now that I have listened I am breathless. "Make It Right" is such a great song with a big prduction and HUGE backing vocals, it´s hard to believe this wasn´t a big hit in the early 80´s. The other songs are of high quality too, so I would recommend (if you can find it)this to everyone who likes Toto, Franke & The KO, Preview, Shelter, I-Ten or any other band from the golden AOR period.

From: Euegnio Chahin Date: January 7, 2005 at 19:14
This thing had the potential to strike has huge as Foreigner 4 or Jounrey's Escape back in the day....all killer no filler, AOR purity!

From: The Dolphin Date: April 21, 2005 at 13:44
15/10 PLEASE SOMEONE GIVE US A REISSUE OF THIS SUPER ALBUM!!!!!!!!!!!

From: robert Date: April 21, 2005 at 20:27

From: gdaze Date: November 12, 2005 at 2:17
Yep, agreed, a fantastic slice of 80's era AOR. The similarity to Preview, Franke and the Knockouts and perhaps I-Ten are well warranted. This must be a serious contender for a 2006 re-issue.. somebody please?? lol

From: ROBERT Date: February 11, 2006 at 11:23

From: jim80s Date: February 16, 2007 at 19:17
I have never been hit by a lightning, but i am assuming that the feeling must be the same with the one i got when i listened this album for the first time. Guys this album is what AOR is all about. In my opinion it defines the genre and this is an achievement that not many major groups have managed to succeed. Simply essential!

From: juan carlos Date: August 24, 2007 at 22:23
Gran disco de AOR/Pomp y toquesillos Westcoast àla Franke and the KO´s, Dakota etc. "Don't Tell Me About It", "Heaven Can Wait", "Sweet Devotion", La bella balada "I Need You Now" y "Make Believe that You Love Me" mis preferidas. 8.9/10

This has been rereleased recently with a different cover art via Retrospect Records. The sound is excellent and "Make It Right" to this day is one of the best AOR songs ever, similar to TOTO´s "Hold The Line"

From: darobinson Date: March 24, 2008 at 16:43
WOW!!! This is a fantastic release. Hard to figure why these guys were not huge in the early eighties. If you like Toto, Franke & The Knockouts and bands with that type of sound this is for you. I would even go as far to say that Mark Bucchare has a voice that is equal to Fergie Frederiksen. That is saying alot. Thanks to Retrospect Records we can all enjoy this fine recording. To bad it is only 32 minutes long.

From: rocket Date: April 24, 2008 at 4:00
Agree with all the positive comments here. This is indeed an AOR gem. Thanks to Retrospect Records for this great Re-Issue.

From: rick kerch vzla Date: October 20, 2011 at 21:46
If you like old school AOR then don't miss this album!!!...enjoyable songs backed up with a very good singer(Mark Bucchare)and excellent backing choruses...best shots for me are "How Does It Feel","Love On The Line"(catchy),"Sweet Devotion","I Need You Now"(nice) & "Make Believe That You Love Me"...recommended AOR/Westcoast stuff...84/100

From: Thomas/Coastline Date: February 8, 2021 at 15:01
Classic and superb one off 1982 AOR/Pomp/Westcoast album with great vocals by Marc Bucchare, who sounds like a perfect mix between Franke Previte and Lou Gramm. The music on this album is so good in quality it's up there with and reminding of bands like Franke & The Knockouts, Dakota, Foreigner, Shelter - "First Stop" and Toto. A much loved and sought after true masterpiece in need of a proper CD release. 10/10, essential in every serious collection.
