From my view, thier best effort. The later stuff got a bit to POPPY,CHEESY for my tastes but to each his own. This and UNDER THE BLADE are my favs from these guys

Oops, Oops, Oops...... If you look up top on this page you will see that Jay Jay French's last name is spelled wrong. It is also spelled wrong on the 'Under The Blade' page as well. Did anyone know that Jay Jay French is the manager of the band SEVENDUST? It's true, he is. BY THE WAY, it ain't 'Finch' and it ain't 'Fench', it's Jay Jay French.

One of the BEST Metal album of the 80s! Songs like We're Gonna Make It and I'll Take You Alive are the likes that made me LOVE this genre. Don't be bothered by this bands rep. Get this one and treasure it.

100% raw heavy metal. Some of the band's best anthems are on this disc including 'The Kids Are Back,' 'We're Gonna Make It,' 'I Am (I'm Me)' and, of course, the title track. http://www.nolifetilmetal.com/twistedsister.htm

Only highlights: 'Kids..', 'Can't stop...', 'Live to ride...', 'I am...' and maybe 'Power and the Glory'.....What the hell were they thinking? This album is a poor replica of their excellent debut...Sorry...

Blue Charvel sorry taking a while to get back to you..here in NY Dee hosts a radio station so he is always plugging the band. They play here in NY I would say 4 times a year that I know of (maybe more).I dont think they are into the whole touring thing as much anymore, they primarily do NY, NJ and CT.(sadly smaller venues), again though they sounded great, like the 80's never left.Heres hoping that everyone gets that xmas metal CD they were good boys and girls for..Quote the WidoMakr...Never more

I can remember owning and loving this album before they got big and I couldn't PAY my friends to listen to them... then of course a year or so later out comes 'We're Not Gonna Take It,' they sold tons of records, everyone loved'em and I was able to sit back with a satisfied smile and say 'Told you so!'

Another good straight ahead 80's metal album. TS was still listenable at this point.

Ride to live, live to ride is just one song not two like it's listed at the top of the page. Really good album, maybe just a hair short of Stay Hungry and a hair and a half short of Under the blade. Like a knife in the back is probably the best song here. Most people think of the two videos from Stay Hungry, but anyone else remember the video for You can't stop rock and roll with the noise police? Spitfire records has the re-release that has three bonus tracks. They are older, rougher sounding s

The only good songs on this CD are The Kids Are Back, Like a Knife in the Back, Ride to Live Live to Ride, I Am (I'm Me), The Power and the Glory, We're Gonna Make It, I've Had Enough, I'll Take You Alive, You're Not Alone (Suzette's Song), You Cant Stop Rock 'N' Roll. The rest are crap. haha shits on Under The Blade, and that was a great CD. Their best? Tie between this, and everything after it.

This is nice. Better production and but slightly poppier songs comparing to UTB. Like a Knife in the Back is my favourite. 8/10

From: ED Date: January 14, 2005 at 9:37
Cool album! The title track is my favorite here, but all the songs kick ass.

From: love metal Date: February 26, 2005 at 17:35

From: Beikes Date: December 9, 2005 at 15:15
Twisted Sister never outdid their debut, but this is actually very close. A notch more to the melodic side, but even though the album has, what one would describe as poor production, the general atmosphere is nothing but amazing. There's not a single bad tune on this record, believe you me, this IS all good! 9/10

Pure, straight edge, forward heavy rock!!!!Second LP and their best effort to date.Dee and his gang kick serious ass here!Buy it!

even though Under the Blade is a great album, and very heavy, this one has better tunes and is kind of a different genre then UTBlade, they can be seperated as two different sounding albums, UTblade was the raw TSister from the bar days playing heavy stuff, and YCSRAR was more of a pop influence but still heavy with a blues edge. For me, UTBlade and YCSRAR are the two greatest Twisted albums. Stay hungry was a step down and COAPlay was 2 steps down, but they came back with LIFSuckers, great band

From: pie75 Date: August 17, 2010 at 9:16
this is my favourite twisted album not a bad song here either some great anthems in the kids are back,i am i'm me and we're gonna make it but the title track is my favourite alltime twisted song i thought of that song always in the dark grunge days i think this is timeless and i still love it whenever i play it

From: hair metal again Date: June 24, 2011 at 2:04
fantastic raw hard rock release by TWISTED SISTER back in 83.heavy and strong sound, many great guitar riffs ,anthemic songs ,smooth production and the result is one of the best releases of early 80 s.all the songs are remarkable and there are no fillers.essential release

A good follower of their debut...Hard Rock mixed with a bit of a raw Glam Metal feel as well..."Ride To Live,Live To Ride" & "We're Gonna Make It" are my faves...tracks 1,2,5,8 & 10 are also good ones...85/100

This was my first ever album by Twisted Sister, and is still my favourite. It is interesting to see how the band has changed over the years. If you listen to the Club daze stuff that they recorded before their debut, they had a more 70s glam sound, and come UTB, they were more of a heavy metal band, verging on thrash before thrash really existed, and its no surprise that they had such a great relationship with Motorhead. This one though is a different beast. It really is a the bridge between the heavier debut album and the more arena based sound they adopted with Stay Hungry. I am (I'm me) is probably the forerunner for tunes like We're not gonna take it or I wanna rock, being an almost anthemic style song. Not a bad song on this one, and recently I just added the recent reissue with the bonus tracks listed above plus the bonus CD of the tunes recorded at the Marquee and were used as single b-sides. Well worth buying this album for the third time in my life
