| I think it's safe to say that Autumn's Child is simply Last Autumn's Dream with a different name. Same sensibilities and songwriting style, and that's a happy realization for longtime fans of the former. In this regard, "Starflower" is probably the best AC album to date but ranks somewhere in the middle tiers of the combined catalogue. It's a moody release where the slow songs tend to be the more engaging and better-written titles. "Opera" and "Dorian Gray" are the top numbers of this category, though it's hard not to love the radio-friendly earworms "1995" and "The Final Call." On the downside, "I Can't Get Enough" is clear filler material and "Aphrodite's Eyes" is a sort of experimental rocker that didn't do it for me, but in general, the songs are solid. Mikael Erlandsson's raspy vocals continue to entrance me and Claes Andreasson's keyboards sound particularly good. Give this one a listen.
