This is Satriani's band before he went solo and even includes later Satriani stalwart Jeff Capitelli on drums. This is more than a mere novelty however: I did not expect this album to be this good. It's easy to tell that this is early Satriani and a lot of his style can be found on his later solo albums. Regarding the music itself, I like all the songs and can easily listen to the whole thing. The power pop style is definitely there and there are similarities with Cheap Trick and Enuff Z'Nuff. Favourites are So Used Up (very catchy), You Can Light The Way (very melodic), Follow That Heart (super vocals and guitar by Satriani) and I Love How You Love Me (super solo). If you're a fan of Satriani, you can't go wrong with this and you won't be disappointed. |

I stumbled on this the other day. It's a good album, has a little bit of everything. At times, a new wave vibe to it, the band name for one thing, then kinda prog rock, a few slower songs, and overarching it all is this great guitar playing, and then you see it's Satch, and you go, "oh okay, makes sense." Worth a few spins, IMO. |
