You have got to be kidding to think that this album deserves only a 5.7 rating. For its genre it easily warrants a rating of at least 8.0. This album is so well done, it's easy to se why Barry Mraz, the famous producer of STYX, was brought in to do the production! And to have ever sen a live Benny Mardones and the Hurricanes show would attest to the fatc that he does not need any fancy studio tricks to get the job done. He's still amazing. www.bennymardones.net :-)

Just remember, the rating averages are just that, averages from the site visitors... although I agree, in this case there seems to be entirely too many people with no taste. This really is an excellent disc.

The CD contains the awesome hit Into the Night. One of the best pop songs ever, in my never humble opinion.

ME GUSTARÍA QUE HUBIERA UN LINKS DE ALGUNA DIRECCIÓN, YA QUE DESDE HACE 22 AÑOS QUE VENGO ESCUCHANDO QUE ESTE TIPO ES CHILENO...Y OJALÁ QUE ASÍ FUERA PORQUE ESPECIALMENTE "INTO THE NIGHT" ES UNA CANCIÓN EXCELENTE.

Hi jaf! I'm talking about Robert Tepper now : I only know his effort in the "No easy way out" song, but their he's great. I like the song, which has all the power and strengh you need to go through this rough world (if you know what I mean?!) You can taste it in the Rocky IV soundtrack. It's much easier to get than the No easy way out album. --Well I would love to have it, even on CD-R! Who can help me??? e-mail: cornelius_groth@yahoo.de

hi scandi!he has three cd,s out two are very rare no easy way out and modern madness i am living in sweden bought them both second hand around twenty crowns each.modern madness is the better cd he sings a duet with faith hill under her real name dan huff was involved also. 10/10

I've got the first one of ROBERT TEPPER called NO EASY WAY OUT now and it's so cool. I woud compare it to DON JOHNSON's stuff with a rougher and tighter edge. Not typically 80 based AOR but otherwise it's an example for that cool-age !!

I JUST WANT TO SAY THAT I WAS ABOUT 12 OR 13 WHEN I FIRST HEARD INTO THE NIGHT, THEN WHEN I MOVED TO CANADA IN 1989 AND I HAVEDE HEARD IT BACK, BROUGHT ALOT MEMORIES TO ME.SINCE I HAVE HAD DOWNLOADED IT THAT SONG I NEVER STOP TO LISTEN IT. FOR ME THAT IS ONE OF THE MOST GREATEST ROMANTICS SONG THAT I EVER LISTENED.

I'm Pablo, live in Quilpué, Chile. My question is: Where to birth Benny Mardones. If somebody knows, please to respond a stripsearch166@hotmail.com or in this same place. This question is because, in my country benny thinks that is chilean. Into the night is the must favorite song, for that reason I want to know. thanks for everything (sorry but my english)

Finally got hold of a copy of this one. Very good release, with a great band of top players at the time. Bobby Messano has helped out with Fiona & Joe Lynn Turner, while Sandy Gennaro bashed the kit with Michael Bolton in the mighty Blackjack and Pat Travers Band. Leigh Foxx was also with Franke & The Knockouts and more recently i spotted him in Blondie's band. This is typical AOR of the time featuring Benny's brilliant voice and some excellent songs throughout - highly recommended.

Sí, también me llegó en formato CD original esta joya del AOR, por fin! Por el año tuvo que serlo y por la tremenda voz de Mardones. Un disco super nostálgico pues mas por "INTO THE NIGHT". Joya. 9/10

Benny Mardones y Robert Tepper!! Vaya Backing Vocals!!.. por cierto, alguien me podrá ayudar con la version del "Into The Night" en concierto? lo escuché en la radio y me parecio Tremenda! Gracias.

"Into the night"was his card of presentation for Mr Mardones but nobody else speak about the other songs. This is a true jewel of the aor genre!!!.3 albums and maybe the second one(self-titled by the way)is the most commercial he did and with a bunch of great musicians as guests. He never broke through as Michael Bolton did(in fact many people compare him with Bolton 'cos the tone of voice).I heard that his last album is not good.imagine then...a talented singer is lost in space.Shame,shame,shame.

Salud!

Great album with a late 70's early 80's sound. Benny has a unique voice with tremendous range. He displays a great deal of rawness for an AOR singer. Into the night is a masterpiece of modern music but apart from that there are a lot of very nice songs on the album. 8/10

Resuming my comment written in spanish way back in 2006,yes,Benny Mardones was born in Chile,South America but raised in the States at a very young age(New York was his hometown)...about the album, enjoyable debut that includes his most succesful hit "Into The Night",a timeless ballad...other goodies are "Mighta Been Love","Crazy Boy"(brilliant!),"Hold Me Down","Hey Baby"(nice) & "Hometown Girls"...Benny is one of my all time favourite singers ...90/100
