Would be good to know what others think of this before handing over my cold, hard cash. I got their first album a few years ago and thought it was OK. I thought it was going to be one of those single-release manufactured Frontiers groups, but apparently not. |

Auslander, check out the one minute samples of each song above. I personally think this is the best thing Tate’s done since back around Queensryche’s Operation Mindcrime: II, and definitely better than the first Sweet Oblivion release... but that’s just me. 😉 |

I eventually got this album. I do enjoy it. Not enough for it to sneak into my top ten of 2021. But, I will say this, and I know it is a controversial opinion: the two Sweet Oblivion albums are both better and more enjoyable than anything Queensryche 2.0 has released. Geoff Tate and Queensryche are just better together. This album though, on its own merits, would have done with a little more variety in sound, plus some more "hooks". It is expertly played and Tate is on fire vocally, but it just misses that Je ne sais quoi that makes a record stand out. Another Change is the best track followed by the Italian language Aria. Grade B. |
