Call it an EP if you want, but there are 9 songs (8, if you don't count the remix) on this CD, which makes it a full-length album in my book. But whatever you call it, AMERICAN ANGEL's sophomore effort is another masterpiece of melodic metal, with killer songs like 'If Love Is So Blind' and 'The Best Part of Christmas' that once again display their sizzling guitars, great hooks, and penchant for big backing vocals. One of the better offerings from the early 90s hard rock/metal scene.

Agreed! I just recently obtained this disc. If I had to characterize it, I'd describe it as 'Lizzy Borden sings melodic hard rock.' Excellent stuff!

I liked everyone of AA's releases. I misplaced 'EP' a few years back and I'm gonna order it now. This band sounded so awsome when live back in the good old days at the Birch Hill and Club Bene. Hope they get back together for one more live gig. Ken... Woodbridge NJ

Great band & great CD. Saw them several times and they always put on a GREAT show. Recently saw Pete & Chris of American Angel in their new band The Blakes. If you can believe it, they were even better than American Angel! It's hard to keep great talent down...

EP 92 was one of the best metal albums ever to come out! American Angel will forever be missed! And especially Eric Nilla!

From: Gary Latimer Date: May 2, 2003 at 21:29
Where the hell is Eric Nilla these days? Went to high-school with him and lost touch in the early 90's. Anyone know where he is or who he is playing with these days?

From: Rob Date: May 4, 2003 at 15:27
Love American Angel! The 1st Cd is just incredible and then the EP is great as well, but missing something on the heavier edge. Though Open Up The Balcony is I think the best track followed my If Love Is So Blind! At least I got to see them various times around town. I play AA and Rocco's new bands Trippin On Dolls on my station. And actually Balcony is on the Top 20 Countdown. My internet station is based out of Jersey. Check it out you might like it! I liked the guitar but the lyrics got really stupid in places.

I have just one question......How did this band not make it HUGE??? I LOVE American Angel!! I love every song on this disc....well, maybe not so much 'Seven And Seven Seas'....lol...but 'If Love Is So Blind' 'Open Up The Balcony' and 'Best Part Of Christmas' are all (to me) just KILLER!!! Perfect harmonies, piano, acoustics.....all my favorite things......in one!! And then there's that Rocco voice.....WOW!!!

What does everyone think of the new single "Turns To Grey"? I think it's awesome!!!!, this new album is gonna blow people away!!!

From: David Date: November 28, 2004 at 6:04
JUST CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF THEIR NEW SONG!!!, SOUNDS VERY LATE 80'S, EARLY 90'S. IT'S AS GOOD AS ANYTHING THEY RELEASED IN THEIR HEY DAY!! BIG COMMENT I KNOW BUT HAVE A LISTEN.

From: Paul P. Date: May 4, 2005 at 12:12
Unfortunately, never picked up this album when I should have. Loved the first one, but WSOU switched over to the Seattle Scene crap and I lost track of AA. I remember liking the one or two songs from this album that WSOU did play, but they did not play them for too long before AA was off the playlist for more Seattle crap. The Jersey/NY/Philly rock scene was the best there ever was, which I can say as a former Jersyan.

From: ericnilla Date: March 1, 2006 at 0:42
yeah my name is eric nilla and im just wondering who the hell is this guy? im eric nilla, not him~!

From: Blue Tequila Date: April 18, 2006 at 17:21
Oh yeah--great cd!! I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that hears the Lizzy Borden similarities on vocals. I love the energy in the songs, the crunchy guitars and the kickin' harmonies. My favorite tracks here (even though all the songs are great) would have to be "If Love Is So Blind", "Open Up The Balcony" (Love this song!), "When The Show Goes On" and "You've Taken It All".

From: shark attack Date: November 3, 2007 at 17:12
Disappointing, far too laid back. As an EP this should come hurtling from the start blocks like a express train but instead limps along like a leper with his legs falling off. I can understand the Lizzy Borden comments regarding the vocals I just wished the music rocked as hard as Lizzy`s did. 57/100

From: Richard Head Date: September 17, 2011 at 15:37
If you like Melodic rock, you should get this.. Plain & Simple..

From: rick kerch vzla Date: October 12, 2011 at 20:39
Quite like this "Ep"...good played melodic Hard Rock backed up with a powerful vocalist(Rocco Furiero)...2 tracks caught completely my attention("Shangra-Love" & "Open Up The Balcony" in both versions)...the rest of them are approachable ones too...recommended stuff...84/100

From: hair metal again Date: October 29, 2013 at 5:57
a good one for AMERICAN ANGEL but not as good as you read in previous comments!commercial hard rock with 2 or 3 really good songs but some fillers too in it!the production and the sound are great ,the musicianship pretty fine but the songs seem to be written in a hurry and should be "bigger".overall good stuff though...

From: X-Rocketer Date: May 8, 2022 at 8:59
Wow what a great release. I have it since years without listening.. Idiot.. Perfect for my Dokken Style Hunger This Days!
