Buen HardRock. 8.5/10 |

Very solid effort by this long standing christian rock band. They have around 18 albums out by now and this one ranks about 4 or 5 out of those 18. The best one from Rez is certianly there album DMZ followed by the Bootleg album. I listened to this band quite a bit in the early 80's and have seen them several times since. They helped start the Jesus People USA movement out of Chicago,IL and remain close ties till this day. Awesom vocals and some slick guitar work. 80/100 |

This is the best album by the mighty Rez, in my opinion. It is also their heaviest, with some real incendiary guitar solos throughout. On this album there is a real heavy blues feel, with some excellent gut-wrenching vocals to match. Silence Screams has a tasty very heavy ACDC-like guitar lick. But it is way heavier than ACDC. You Got Me Rockin is sung by Wendy as is a mid-tempo number. Presence of the Lord is a Clapton cover I think. It's OK. Light Light is another Wendy track and has a great pop metal feel. Rain Dance is a heavy blues epic. But the standout track is the closing You Get What You Choose which features some of my favourite guitar work. It's an absolute killer song that makes hairs on the back of my neck stand up in awe. I would describe Rez here as John Lee Hooker mixed with ACDC and Iron Maiden. Grade A. |
