| A nice solid slice of not to well known early 90's melodic rock. If you are a fan of 80's melodic rock, you can't go wrong with this one.

| Definitely has its moments: reminds me of Shotgun Symphony's debut, Slyboyz or Savannah. A few misfires and cheesy lyrics are almost forgiveable against such standouts as 'Angel' and 'Show Me The Way'. Recommended.

| this is a good cd a must have for your collection...i cant wait to hear there new cd'right the music'...cd does have a few of the cheesy moments but eberyone does...if you dont have get it...my two favs are 'mississippi queen(Cover song)' & 'magic'...

| LTGB....What a great CD!! You should also hear the new CD from Biloxi, 'Right The Music'. One of the best rock CD's I've ever heard. Clyde Holly is an excellent singer and songwriter by all standards! Will they wait so long for another release? I Hope Not.....

| This is sheer genius. Combining melodic rock with some pomp overtones and finished off with Clyde Holly's superb vocals (very Dennis Churchill Dries (White Sister)). If you like White Sister, Y&T, or indeed any combo that matched power with melody this is a must have!!!

| Album opener 'Run For Your Life' leaves you gasping for superlatives. It starts off as Kansas/Prophet style AOR, the mid section changes to Dream Theater style arrangements, before finishing off with double kick drums and lead guitars on overkill during the choruses and solo's! Just when you catch your breath, a gorgeous piece of melodic rock a la Firehouse is presented to us in the shape of 'Angel'. A spectacular album, one of very few highlights during 1993.

| I am AMAZED at the huge score for this one! Yes, there are killer melodic hard rock moments, but what about the equal number of fillers? How can they be missed??? 'Run for you life' is an okay opener, 'Angel' is killer in all aspects though lacks in the chorus department, 'Mississippi Queen' is a musical tragedy, 'Don't Cry No More' is a slow and pointless ballad - not too bad, 'Out Too Late' is great fun - cool track but not brilliant, 'Livin' Time' is a monster track!, 'Show Me the Way' is cra

| ... is crap, 'Magic' has the best verses and bridge and monster hooks ever! But chorus suck again, 'Dancin' sucks, 'Somewhere in the Night' is boring again, 'Here and Now' is a killer track! Monster closer. So there you have it, IMO many more fillers than there are killers. Although the band is musically superb, they just don't stack up in terms of songs! Simple as that. Give me a 5 track EP of 'Angel', 'Out too late', 'Livin time', Magic' and 'Here and now' over the whole album anytime!!! 6/10

| You amuse me AOR Freaky. In another post you say I know nothing about AOR - granted I am not an AOR expert and much prefer hard rock, but that does not mean I know nothing. My tastes are just different to yours and I'd much prefer an Outside Edge disc to 'Indescreet' if I'm listening to AOR. Anyway, you made your point but then go here and prove you know NOTHING at all about melodic hard rock. Apparently in your world Biloxi are better than Treat, Fate, Transit, Masquerade, China etc.

No further comments are needed because that was a ridiculous statement you made, but just to justify mine - Fate never recorded a filler, Masquerade's debut had no fillers, China's first three albums had few fillers, Transit recorded few fillers and Treat, IMO, never recorded a filler either. Especially 'Organised crime'. However, Biloxi recorded half an album of fillers here! How are they better than any band there, or Skagarak, Return... list and Scandi band and they're better!!! ANY!!!

| cont. How lame am I? I forgot TNT, one of the best of all. Sorry, my geography is not brilliant and I'm not 100ure what is Scandi and what is just Europe, but I think you'd be hard pressed to name one single Scandi band that was actually worse than Biloxi (Who were not that bad, just nothing compared to Scandi bands).

| I agree with Freddy that this is a killer album. Apart from 'Mississippi Queen' of course, which doesn't really suit the style of the rest of the album. Big keys, big production, absolutely amazing harmony vocals (just listen to 'Angel' for proof) and some of the best pomp since Prophet's heyday. Not sure I agree this is better than EVERYTHING from Scandinavia, but it still gets regular plays in my CD deck. 9/10.

| These guys remind me of Tyketto with a guitarist that had a better melodic style. Unfortunately one of the reasons Tyketto comes to mind is the phrase 'Unfulfilled Potential' These guys had the chops, the licks and the kicks to be the best, but poor songwriting brought this CD to a mediocre level. There are a few gems here, including Angel, Out Too Late, Show Me The Way and Somewhere In The Night, but overall the album lacks originality and consistency. Average at best. 5/10

| agree with geoff here although not a bad album their are loads better than this one i'd go ahead with the treat fate tnt and so on but this album still is worth having imo

| This cd is for sure a nice additon to anyone's melodic rock collection. Not anywhere near a classic but just a descent release.\With a few gems like Run for your life, Out 2 late, Show me the way ans Somewhere in the night. Buy yeah fillers are here also. There is better stuff oout there but also lots worse. All in all 6,5/10.

| mmm, Average AOR/Hard melodic album, Hey AOR Freaky better than anything scandi act, AHAHAHAHA, crazy crazy, realmente esperaba mas, good songs how Here and Now(by far THE BEST), Magic, Angel, Don't Cry No More for me the first album or demo i don't know, is better than this with songs as one in a million, someone to love you, I'll Meet You On The Other Side, Love Prevails is pure AOR, killer songs, regular 7/10.

| For me Geoff gets the description of this release right earlier. It has it's killer moments but there is a little too much filler...it's not a bad album it's just not as blistering as you'd expect from the OTT reviews it received at the time of release. By the time the band released the follow up though all momentum gained here had been lost and it kind of slipped out a few years ago. I did'nt bother picking it up but this still gets the occassional play.

Por ejemplo aca Biloxi y su Inedito Checkmate...The Game Is Over mejor que este IMO, claro la produccion sale perdiendo en la mayoria de casos que en un disco oficial, pero al tener pocos cortes como que se esmeran mas caso de  Listen to Your Heart (uno de esos mejores cortes de AOR) son solo algunos ejemplos de cosas que ocurren en las profundidades de este mundo del Rock donde cuando sabes mas te das cuenta que menos sabes.

| I thought this was a pretty good AOR release. I really enjoyed their sound although I didn't care for their cover of "Mississippi Queen". Very similar to a lot of the above mentioned bands. I guess my favorite tracks here are "Don't Cry No More" and "Here and Now".

| I guess back in 1993 we would have been grateful for this slice of hard rock,what with the grunge explosion sweeping the world,making hard rock/metal as popular as a bad dose of herpes. Still with the luxury of hindsight we can see just how average this release is and wonder if the death of hard rock/metal was actually self inflicted,as the arteries were being steadily clogged up with ever more 3rd and 4th rate musical fat. Disappointing 35/100

| Wow I'm kind of blown away at the negative comments above,in general I prefer the harder side of melodic rock like Monster, Burning Rain or Charlotte but this cd I would compare to Hardline or Journey and Foreignor best.The only songs I would say are less than great would be Livin' Time and Mississippi Queen which is a great song just not fitting with the rest of the album.Every other song I give 5 out of 5 *'s.The next album is even better,highly recomended 8.9/10.

| excellent debut for BILOXI offering some commercial hard rock with their sound being somewhere between LILLIAN AXE,FIREHOUSE and STRYPER(Against The Law era )!the musicianship is very fine ,the production clear & polished ,the guitar work & the vocals very good but the songwriting could be better especially in the choruses!"here and now","don t cry no more","angel" and "magic" are fine songs indeed
