Just picked this up real cheap...I think I overpaid... I'd have to agree with TIM, 'Swamp Devil' is a pretty cool tune. 'Mama Tequila's' not bad either but a lot of it just never seems to get off the ground, even with guest appearances by Ian Astbury and Jerry Cantrell. 'Circles' sounded like it would be a good ballad but it just kinda plods along and sounds the same all the way through. I would say pick up the first one if you've got to have a COP album, this one sounds like their dying breath.

This album sound like grunge. Totally disgusting.

I love this CD. The band showed versatility. Well, the first and the second CD are better. There's an article on www.sleazegrinder.com ... read it. It explain well the conception of thi CD. Yeah, sound like grunge. But every time that I put it on my stereo...it always gives me a kick. And Circles is a fantastic song. My favourit ballad.

excellent release for CIRCUS OF POWER and probably their best back in 93!everything sounds big here and the songs are very well performed and produced and it seems to me that COP reached their top !a fine hard rock vibe is offered and strong songs like "heaven and hell",'swamp devil","evil woman" and "waitin for the wizard" but also fine ballads like "slip away" and "circles"!great stuff indeed

The biggest thing holding this record back, to me, is the length. It has twelve songs, same as the last disc, yet it's fifteen minutes longer. On the first album, only one song (barely) breaks the four-minute mark. Here, almost half of the songs are over five minutes long, and three of those go beyond six minutes. Circus Of Power don't do epics, dammit! Other than that, I don't see a huge drop in quality, maybe because I'm not totally gone for the debut the way some are. This band has never had the catchiest songs, the best riffs or even the most charismatic singer. They just sorta "do what they do," and if you love that dirty biker-rock sound, there's plenty here to like. For this album, the band opened up for Alice In Chains, along with Masters Of Reality.
