Being a big fan of Tyketto and Danny Vaughn's voice, I really liked this album. Waysted were one of those bands that several band members went off to make it with other bands, Vaughn went to Tyketto and Johnny Dee of Britny Fox toured with these guys once.

This band is great. Wonderful vocals by Danny and the music if great. At times I forget who I'm listening to and think of Tyketto. You can hear where they got their sound from. Get this Album

Most people do not know this andprobably don't care but the drummer on this CD is the drummer from BRITNY FOX. Johnny Dee.

Sorry guys but i disagree. Songs are good but this band was made for rock 'n roll not AOR or something like that. Fin, the 1st singer is gone and nothing will never be the same (even if Vaughn is of course a good singer). I return to the precedent album... 6/10

Vaughn is one of the worst singers I know, together with Lenny Wolf, Udo Dirkschneider, and the guy from 'Glory Bells' Glory North they all suck a lot!

I really like this one. My favs are Hell comes home and Heaven tonight. Danny has been kissed by the gods of AOR, his voice is awesome. One of my favorite all time singers, togheter with Kelly Hansen(Hurricane). Somebody may not like him, but put him between the worst singer seems excessive to me.

I never owned this record but I remember seeing a video back in the day. Currently, I find myself day after day singing the chorus to 'Heaven Tonight'. Man, that was a fucking catchy song. Whomever wrote that melody sure wrote one that lasts. Awesome song.

Well i thought this was a great melodic rock cd and pete way could always pen a good tune(listen to wild willing by ufo!) but i still think that Vices was the best thing he ever did! Sleazy and love loaded just explode into greatness. im just putting together a demo cd of the last thing waysted did with jon devrill and eric gammans pure melodic BLISS!!

If you liked the first two Tyketto albums, this is a CD that you MUST own. I know it's expensive, rare and you may have one less leg, arm or testicle after you buy it, but damn! it's good. 'Heaven Tonight' is pure AOR heaven... probably the best thing Danny Vaughn has ever sung. 'How the West was Won' is also tailor-made for his singing style.

I'm listening to this cd know.I've got a reissue from Amazig Rediscovering Ltd. from 1996 this cd has got a bonus track.I think that is an strong CD and a killer relase, more hard rocker than Tyketto. For me the best song is Heroes Die young it's the climax of the cd, the other songs are an excellent complement to this killer song i think.Danny Vaughn rocks here!!! This album can be viewed by 2 different perspectives. The Tyketto fan's perspective and the UFO fan's perspective. Being a Tyketto fan myself, this album is a great sample for me how Danny was sounding before joining this awesome band called Tyketto. Some great tunes, 'Singing To The Night', 'How The West Was Won', 'Heaven Tonite'' are just great. Owing 'Vices' and the mini, self titled LP by Waysted, I still think this is by far their best release. Greetings to all the fans, from Greece

The cover shown above is from the British version. I have the American release with the muscle guy on the cover, too. This is an incredible album. The version of 'Heaven Tonight' on this is one of my all time favorite songs from any musical genre. The cd is expensive, but it really is worth it.

'Heaven Tonight' is quite simply the best hard rock (or metal or whatever) ballad ever. It kind of sounds like Survivor with a lot more balls. The melody is impeccable. It barely edges out Helix-Deep Cuts The Knife and L.A. Guns-It's Over Now. All of these seem to be lost or criminally underrated at best. I would kill to be able to write hooks this good.

From: Trick Taylor |

This is the hardest SURVIVOR album ever made!! Anyone who loved VICES must have puked in their beers after hearing this poodle-rock crapwich for the first time. I know a lot of you love this disc, but I loved VICES and this is a mistake compared to that classic slab. Danny Vaughn sucked in Waysted, ruined a potentially hard edged Tyketto and just needs to go away. His voice is too clean for even Stryper! Pete Way ought to be ashamed of himself (and I bet he is).
|
From: CC |

This album has also been released in its demo format as 'Wildnerness of mirrors' & by all accounts it sounds better as its rawer & less polished!

Danny Vaughn one of the worst singers ever?????? Rubbish the man is a vocal god as well as a really nice guy I met hima couple of years ago at one of his Vaughn gigs he was really friendly and went on a walk around the audience before and after the show. He has one of the finest rock voices ( maybe musical voices) I have ever heard and proves it on this record. Heaven tonight rocks. Pete Way should have stuck with this band as I saw him with UFO a while back and they sucked

Ok, so maybe I need to listen to this one a little more, but I don't get it. I love Tyketto (well, the first 2) but I'm not getting into anything on here other than 'Heaven Tonight'. The production is pretty flat, and there's some pretty standard hard-rock on here, but it's not really my thing. Just a word of warning for those Tyketto fans rushing out to get this re-issue, as not all of you will love it as much as those above...

Better to buy the reissue & be disapointed than to have bought the over priced original & be disapointed, they should at least give it a try at this price! Shame Danny wont get any money from this re-issue seeing as Way took advantage of a naive 24 year old & didnt credit him for any of his song writing!

going thru all my old promo videos at the weekend ( i used to work at EMI) i found the promo video for 'Heaven Tonight' by Waysted, so if anyone wants a copy, feel free to email me at: niceandsleazy99@yahoo.co.uk and i will happily oblige. I like 'Save Your Prayers' but too AOR for me and i prefer the real grit of 'Vices'

Never gave this one too much of a chance except for 'Heaven Tonite' That song has always ruled but i can not believe how great the rest of the disc is. 'Walls fall down' is a perfect example of how Danny can put an edge to his voice when he chooses. This one has def. stood the test of time. 8/10

Have you ever listened to the ballad 'So long' and get this creepy feeling when unlucky in love or so..? -Sure you did! It's some of the BEST ballads in AOR/Hard Rock I ever listened to.. and that's a fact!! You may easily see this along with Heart's ALONE or Whitesnake's HERE I GO AGAIN ! Almost the rest of the songs, especially WALLS FALL DOWN & OUT OF CONTROL, are perfect solid Hard Rock songs. Rock on

I saw Waysted open for Iron Maiden in support of this album. I had seen the Heaven Tonight video and was hooked. I wore out the tape I had and started looking for the CD. Finally in 200 I picked it up on E-Bay for 65 US dollars. Heaven Tonight is just a song that stuck with me throught the years and to this day is one of my favorite all time songs. The entire album kicks ass but this is the song I wanted.

Yeah, Great melodic HardRock with AOR touches, maybe a classic but not to me. Great voice of Danny Vaugh without any doubt and great Choruses/Riffs. "Singing to the Night" "Heaven Tonight" "Hell Comes Home" and "Black and Blue" are the best. Tracks 8,9,10 & bonus tracks are average songs imo. 8.8/10

very good release for WAYSTED back in 86 with an all star line up and imho Paul Chapmans guitar work stealing the show!typical mid 80s commercial US hard rock music with a certain quality ,but also not any big song and that s the reason for not having proper success!great production and a nice feel though !
