This is the re-release of the s/t cd...One of the best scandi aor albums out there!! The original release was in 1988.

From: John N. Date: August 21, 2001 at 16:04
I can only agree with Magnus, these guys made some really good songs....

Isnt it possible to write in English.????? I have no clue whats written here. I could start writing in Danish. Stay cool.

One of the best Scandinavian aor band ever! Keyboards and choruses to the fore. A must have.

From: 9 CHAMPIONS A 1 Date: July 17, 2002 at 11:21

From: koogles Date: July 31, 2002 at 8:04
Reminds me of Saga at times but with a Scandi/melodic twist. If Michael Sadler was in Da Vinci, you'd get Talk of the Town. Every song is solid and memorable. This is one to get. Trust me. Would I lie to you?

From: David Date: March 31, 2003 at 3:47
Man!, this album is growing on me by the minute. I think the best songs are the bonus tracks.

From: Rycheage Date: July 20, 2003 at 17:30
Big Swedish melodic AOR, with the sensational vocals of Thomas Vikstrom. Plenty of keyboards and heaps of melody. The bonus tracks comprise of 4 tracks from the 'Reach For The Sky' album plus 2 tracks from Thomas' own solo album 'If I Could Fly'. The unreleased tracks are 'Queen Of The Night' and 'Midnight Cowboy'. Essential for Swedish AOR collectors and 80's AOR fans in general.

From: Hrudet Date: February 4, 2004 at 1:08
One of the most pristine AOR albums ever released in my humble opinion is this scandi AOR effort from Sweden's Talk Of The Town. The immense sound on this album is quite captivating at times, and has some wondrous moments throughout. Everything you would ever want to hear or see on an AOR type album is probably captured on these songs, whether it be harmonious keyboard washes, pulsing bass, or the magical voice of Thomas Visktrom who does literally soar like an eagle at times.

From: aorjocke Date: May 19, 2004 at 17:55
YES,this is probably the best AOR album coming out of my homeland.Every song is filled with hookes, and the lead vocals from Thomas Wikström is so good!Best songs to me is 'Free Like an Eagle','I Love the Look in Your Eyes,'Feel My Heartbeat and 'Undercover Love' who all are great uptempo AOR!

From: TIM (2) Date: July 2, 2004 at 7:42
As much as I love all these classic re-issues, when you find yourself buying a second copy of something just for the few bonus tracks everytime it is a pain. Anyway, that aside, you must have this. If you love Scandi AOR this is up there with the best from Treat, Alien etc. Sounding like Da Vinci with more keys and fuller production, this was their best CD by a distance. "Undercover Love" is the definition of what I love about AOR.

From: Geoff Date: August 27, 2004 at 2:49
There are maybe a little too many keyboards for me and not quite the song quality to put it up there with Treat, Fate, MAsquerade, DaVinci and the like, but it is a good melodic rock / AOR release anyway. I love 'Fever' mostly, and there are a few cool songs towards the end... and all over the place. It is a good solid release.

From: Angel Date: October 8, 2004 at 8:40
Amazing ! Great ! One of the best melodic albums ever recorded ! Especially recomended for Fate, Treat, Skagarack fans... Fantastico ! Genial !

The Best Music On The Planet.

It seems to be that in this years the scandi aor acts founded the right path!!! I would compare them a lot with Bad Habit's Young and Innocent or Evenrude's One size fits All. Very poppy aor at times specially on the ballads but extremely enjoyable. One of those cds that if you like the first song you'll love it all. I would have loved it even more with an extra touch of guitars but anyway as many have said up here.. tihs is one to get.

Now it's safe without fear of a Belgian backlash, lets all get 'Scandie'. When talking top Scandie albums, I always completely forget to mention this one, which is criminal on my behalf & I should be punished severley!!!Definately up there with Treat, Fate, Dream Police ,Bad Habit etc. 'Undercover Lover' is TIM's definiion of all things 'Scandie' - 'I Love The Look In Your Eyes' is mine & is an absolute killer track as are most of the others featured here.

Yesssss. Got my copy of this baby yesterday through schmankerl records. Being (a.o.) the scandi music lover i am this is truly as good as it gets scandi wise. I hear Dalton, Da Vinci and R.A.W.. This album is more keydriven though. But man what a gem. Love it !! This one will get lots and lots of spins in my cd. Scandi song gems are Fever, Undercover Love, Love the look, You got your dreams,Power inside, Wildcat ( Are their second and third album as good as this one i wonder ?).

From: Rude Date: December 8, 2005 at 13:58
No Erik, unfortunately the following cds don't catch the same keys-drivin' sound as the first one, but you can find 2-3 songs on the last album that can closely match. You can also try to listen to some other MHR/AOR scandi groups as Glory(1st),Bad Habit(1st)or Amaze me (1st). There are also other many MHR/AOR groups, but not from Scandinavia such as Zinatra or Red Dawn, but thats another taste. Cheers and Good Luck

From: Erik Date: December 9, 2005 at 4:49
Rude thanks for the info on the other two albums. Will avoid em. cheers

From: juan carlos Date: February 13, 2007 at 10:02
Buen disco.

From: Magnus Date: March 31, 2007 at 21:15
Just keyboard heaven! Pretty easy to find so go and get it! A scandi AOR must!

Anybody who loves Talk of the Town , and i know there are a lot of you should get their hands on Roulette - Better late the Never. Its TofT style meeting Da Vinci. 17 songs dating from 86 to 91. Perfect scandi aor. Great voice. Must have IMO for lovers of scandi music. Swedish band. Order it thru www.aor-fm.com Thomas Lundgren on vox - Magnus Nelin on guitars - Thomas Nesslin on keyboards - Hansi Fellbrink on bass and Mats Nelin on drums. In my top 5 of 08

REVIEW STRUTTER MAGAZINE 8.4/10 "Formed in 1985, this ROULETTE from Sweden was hot on the heels of countless other Swedish bands to secure a major label deal in a time when bands like EUROPE , MALMSTEEN, TREAT and such had paved the way for Melodic Rock/Hair Metal. Unfortunately the band RAT BAT BLUE beat them for a CBS RECORDS deal and so after a few great singles, the band split up and end of story until… Well here comes AOR FM RECORDS, the great new label from Scotland with their 2nd release, following up their amazing PRIDE release, which was another Swedish band that failed to secure a deal 20 years ago with their infectious melodic rock. ROULETTE’s ‘Better late than never’ is their 2nd release, another Swedish band with a collection of songs recorded back in the late 80s, happily sounding all crystal clear on this CD. In total 17 songs are included, with songs recorded between 1987 and 1991. Let’s have a quick round-up here, some great fun catchy uptempo melodic rockers like “Onl

From: erik Date: June 17, 2008 at 12:28
catchy uptempo melodic rockers like “Only the strong - 1991 – Single”, “Hearts keep on burning - 1988 - Single A-side”, “City heat – 1989” , “All I want – 1988” and “Call my name - 1988 - Single B-Side”, very fine midtempo AOR in the shape of “Bittersweet love – 1991” , “Fool for your love - 1989 – Single” and “Reachin for you – 1990” , a lovely aorish ballad “Evangeline – 1991” , aorish uptempo keyboard orientated poprock a la ZINATRA/2nd TOBRUK, URGENT's 2nd (“Run girl – 1988” ), midtempo EUROPE 'Superstitious' style (“5. Give me some affection – 1989” and “So far so good – 1989” ) and the rest (“Better late than never – 1990” , “Dancin – 1990” , “Body n soul – 1989” , “Turn me on – 1987” and “Tonights the night – 1988” ) is ok. All in all, pure Scandi 80s Class Melodic Rock, must-have for fans of DAVINCI, DALTON , TREAT, EUROPE , FATE, ZINATRA, VICE, PRIDE, etc. etc."

From: Zoner Date: July 26, 2008 at 13:45
Pure AOR magic from Sweden! Get the original issue and stay away from the re-issue.

From: juan carlos Date: July 26, 2008 at 19:56
Yeah, sadly i have the Re-issue but the original issue .... I am not a big fan of ScandiAOR but it´s a Good album. The original issue must be more enjoyable than my Re-Issue.

From: Zoner Date: August 11, 2008 at 6:33
Whoever think the bonus tracks are the best songs are way off. You don't buy this masterpiece for some weaker bonus tracks which are not worth your money. Like I said get the original issue if you want the best from this release. It's on the Swedish label "Glen Artist Promotion/Glen Studio AB". But don't expect any lyrics or pages in the booklet it's the same as Easy Action - That Makes One... low budget product.

From: KurtmanJP Date: September 16, 2008 at 14:49
Excellent Scandi AOR. "Free Like An Eagle" "Fever" "You've Got Your Dreams" and "Wildcat" are top class up-tempo AOR tracks. "Feel My Heartbeat" is a superb funk-AOR song while "In The Night" is a breathtaking power ballad. "The Power Inside" sounds like a hi-tech AOR Jojo song but is still great. The best bonus tracks are "Strange Love" and "Wish I Could Fly" which both contain an outstanding chorus. Most of the other bonus tracks are bland.

From: rbrigade Date: July 24, 2009 at 3:28
If you think Vikstrom sounds good on this one you need to listen to Speedy Gonzales covering Free like an eagle...Way better. He sounds too young and inexperienced on this album, don't like the accent neither

From: rbrigade Date: July 24, 2009 at 4:12
Actually the first song is the only one I like from the original album, the rest is poppy AOR with melodies lacking quality. The bonus tracks have some good moments, like Top of the mountain. And like I said before, go listen to Vikstrom on the Electric Stalker album covering Free like an eagle!

From: BDrums1971 Date: September 9, 2010 at 2:27
Undercover Love has a HUGE chorus. Fantastic!! I really like these guys. But the song Reach For The Sky (which I guess is from the Reach for the Sky cd), really annoys me because of the rap in the middle. I mean, I listen to AOR and rock because I can't stand rap or country. Every time I hear that rap it just makes me mad. I know it's not long, but, why in the hell put a rap in a rock/aor song? STUPID!!

From: Pee Dee Date: January 11, 2011 at 5:57
If this didn't have those tuneless, off-genre bonus tracks, I would have given it 93/100 for being pure, keyboard-driven scandi AOR. Unfortunately, the excessive later-recorded bonus tracks cause me to turn it off early. If you like the harder stuff, that's fine - but don't mix the sheep with the goats! 82/100

From: rick kerch vzla Date: January 24, 2011 at 20:30
I have just gotten this album...yeah price acceptable if we are talking about the tons of bonus tracks it brings but to be honest are not as good as the the ones from the album itself or first printing edition if you wanna call it that way...also the vocalist didn't impress me at all(he did his job quite well though)but i don't get into that tone of voice..."Free Like An Eagle","Fever","Undercover Love","Feel My Hearbeat","Livin' For Lovin'","In The Night"(beauty ballad ) & "The Power Inside"(catchy) are the ones from the album that i like..about the bonus ones,"Top Of The Mountain","Strange Love"(it rocks and has a good chorus line) & "Midnight Cowboy"(also rocks)...scandi AOR has always stood proud and strong even with this kind of albums...my rate is gonna be good anyway.90/100

From: Monzter Date: August 25, 2015 at 0:47
Not much to complain about here. An album packed full of catchy songs with a very good singer and a that perfect 80's sound. Love the keys on this one as well. 95/100.

From: hair metal again Date: November 10, 2023 at 9:01
very good debut for TALK OF THE TOWN offering everything you like in Scandi hard rock/aor scene with many melodies, big choruses and equal keys guitars in their sound!"undercover love","livin for lovin" and "wildcat" are the highlights!good stuff
