| Had never heard of Saracen but came across this album and I listened to it out of curiosity.... I am glad I did! Excellent by all means! Must be one of the Best of 1981.

| Superb album from an excellent band; great musicians and fantastic songs. If there was any justice in the music industry, bands like this would be stars.

| This is a hidden gem. I only discovered this band and album a few months ago,when doing some surfing on the internet.Very impressed. This is quality progressive hard rock,with, as you'd expect from a prog band,excellent musicianship and instrumental interplay.But what matters most of course is the songwriting, which on this album is very consistent. Definitely a shame they faded away for so long,although apparently they are recording a new album for release later this year.

| Yeeeees, Horseman of the apocalypse is one of the greatest epic, pomp rocksongs ever. Hey Mr. Bendelow I thought you left the band and that caused the dull second album from saracen?

| Lords of the epic rock, two discs only weren't enough. Just few records have a similar level to Heroes, Saints and Fools. In a nut shell "one of a kind".

| I'm glad that Saracen is back, i have had the vinyl since the 80's and i bought it for my girlfriend on cd and she think it's one of the best cd'es she's got even when she's got it in 2001. So i hope they can keep the high standard from heroes/S/F, that always have been a masterpiece Regards Martin Denmark

| Red Sky is one of the best musical moments of 2003 for me. It really is top notch. Heroes has long been one of my top 5 albums and the rerecorded tracks from that album really are superb. To hear Saracen recording again is tremendous in the extreme!!

| HS&F is a legendary album that cannot be matched by anyone. It is the epic of early 1980's rock.

| i got the hero saints fool album back in 81,dont know why it states 92 release,anyway i seen this band way back then a true class act,great album still play the bugger now

| Saracen were always lumped in with the NWOBHM brigade, but musically, they were alot more akin to the likes of Magnum than the real metal bands of the time. This is a good album if you like a bit of Pomp and roll along with your Hard rock & offers plenty of good quality tracks. 'Horseman Of The Apocalypse', 'Heroes, Saints And Fools' and 'Ready To Fly' are the 3 epics on here and the 3 tracks which I think sum up this band the best. They also showcase Robert Bendelows excellent, tasteful guitar solos throughout. Production is a bit on the lumpy side & does sound a little dated now, although this wasn't a bid budget release when it was released. The new Remastered Escape version does improve the sound somewhat, so pick up that version if you see it,plus the fact that it is the 'official' version & comes with the excellent 'Red Sky' disc as a bonus aswell. An album Of it's time maybe, but this still a highly enjoyable slice of Brit Pomp rock history that should be checked out.

| SARACEN s debut is a cult release in the pomp/progressive hard rock territory that somehow found its way into the NWOBHM movement!imagine that RUSH meets MAGNUM to offer a short description...i remember buying that vinyl somewhere in the late 80 s and gave it a few spins !it flows pretty good,the fine musicianship is obvious,the prog spirit is there ,the sound & production are just like it should back in the early 80 s ,but overall i d like some stronger choruses like "no more lonely nights" !

| Classic release!!! 💎 ...i own this on vinyl and CD...tracks 8 to 14 belong to their lovely album "Change Of Heart"(1984),from that one i like # 8,10,11( 👍 ) & 13...and now from this one i select # 1,2,3,4 & 7...lovely act that is more of a cult band than other thing.My global rate from both récords is 90/100 🙂
