Apparently Bret took all the good songs for himself & left Poison to make do with the leftovers. This blows away "Hollyweird," featuring better songs, better hooks, better choruses, & more backing vocals than Poison's last ho-hum album. From rockers to ballads, Bret out-Poisons Poison, delivering the kind of CD Poison fans hoped "Hollyweird" would be. There are no fillers here and if Poison's next project sounds this good, they could breathe new life into their career...

this album is better than last year's hollyweird..bret is very talented and he ages quite well (no i'm not gay) favorite song: 'it's my party' it sure is bret batcave777@hotmail.com

Being a tad skeptical about this release because his last solo outing was abyssmal, I put the disc in the player and was pleasantly surprised. Mark Allen said it best....Bret saved his best material for his solo cd!! Raine is such a nice song dedicated to his little girl..and the rockers on the album blow away anything Poison has released on it's last two cds. I highly recommend it...it has everything...some glam...some hard rockers and some power pop!! Good stuff.....7.5/10

This is an amazing Party/Hard Rock album. I don't think it sounds like poison at all, in fact I think I would be disapointed if this were released by Poison, Because it's too far away from what anyone would expect to hear from Poison. Well It's Bret's solo release and It REALLY rocks my world.

I have to say the first time I listened I wasn't thrilled. But being the big fan that I am I gave it another couple tries and really ended up liking it. the fun songs are exactly that, and that ballad type songs are excellent as always from Brett. Good CD.

From: bones Date: June 21, 2003 at 15:55
this album was nothing short of amazing..all the songs are well writen.all theses songs are so fun and/or beautiful..i really love "stay with me" i have no idear what this is from, but this is a realy pretty song, sad but pretty...amazing record..but everyone is right, this is a much better record than hollywierd...

From: Reno Date: June 21, 2003 at 16:28
The few tunes i've heard so far are very good. I must agree with alot of people and say that it looks as if the left overs ended up becoming Hollyweird and the good tunes are here. Even the production is far superior.

From: Rycheage Date: June 24, 2003 at 21:16
This disc contains some of the best stuff Bret’s ever written and hopefully we’ll get more releases from him both solo and with Poison. This disc should be in everyone’s collection no matter what your tastes are. The vocals are excellent as is the music itself and the musicianship is top notch. Put this all together with great production and you got yourself one kick ass record. This is definitely one damn fine disc.

Just heard "Forgiveness" off of AOL Radio and if the rest is anything like that I have to have it.

From: John Date: July 23, 2003 at 15:27
Anyone not moved by the lyrics to 'One More Day' has no soul. Anyone that doesn't laugh at Loaded Gun has no sense of humor. Man, this would have been one kick-ass Poison record. 9/10.

From: Dean Date: November 17, 2003 at 13:15
Very cool cd- "Bittersweet" is hilarious. Some of the stuff on here reminds me of Jani Lane's solo stuff. I didn't care for the "Death Row" cd but this is def. on the keepers list.

From: T-Bone Date: September 6, 2004 at 4:45
I finally broke down and bought this after hearing Loaded Gun on the XM Satillite Radio. I was pretty impressed and I have to agree that it looks like Bret kept the good tunes and production for this cd and threw the shit on Hollyweird

From: CC Date: September 16, 2004 at 14:53
The version I have has four more songs, and the tracks are in a totally different order. Extra tracks are "Menace to society" "The chant" "Party rock band" & "Stay with me!" Bloody good album!

From: Geoff Date: September 19, 2004 at 0:24
As everyone else here has noted, all the good recent Poison songs can be found on this CD whilst the steaming pile of shit called 'Hollyweird' floats about somewhere rotting away. It's not the best CD I ever heard, but it is very good either way. Great for Poison fans - good commercial hard rock CD.

Bret micheals voice has changed over the year. i LIKE HIS VOICE MUCH BETTER IN HIS POISON(80'S )DAYS. hIS VOICE NOWADAYS ARE VERY UNORIGINAL,ITS JUST SOME MODERN ROCK SINGER'S GROWL! HIS VOICE USED TO BE MORE FEMININE AND PLAYFUL TYPE! bUt this album is still good. I like loaded gun and songs of life!

From: Andii Vamp Date: December 14, 2004 at 0:08
God this album bloody smokes!! Agreed with a lot of posters here that this is definitely much much better than Hollyweird. This album has no fillers at all and it's great to listen to whilst having a few beers. Cracking stuff.

From: James Date: April 15, 2005 at 18:12
I've had this since it was released. I pulled it out of the cd collection early this week and it hasn't left the cd player. This is one great cd. the ballads are awesome.

From: Sven Pelz Date: May 6, 2005 at 11:18
It`s better than Hollyweird from Poison. The CD rocks. His best Solo CD. Check this one.

From: Chad Date: December 17, 2005 at 22:21
I quite like this album. Raine is the standout but there are some very good songs on this one. I have to go against the grain on many of the comments here that I also enjoy the Hollyweird album too. Both albums have a place in my library. Brett has an awesome voice and writes good songs that the common man can relate to and enjoy. Hats off to Brett on this collection. Just not a cowboy hat....man, he needs to get rid of that hillbilly in him.

Here's a comment post 2005 Just picked this up for a couple of bucks. Pretty decent album in my opinion. Certainly not great but a good listen when you don't need to think too much.
