????.... Ahhh... So let me get this strait. Bret Michaels is doing a tribute album to his own band?... This has desperation written all over it. |
From: CC | Date: December 2, 2003 at 0:00 |
Its actually Bret working with other musicians, rather than just Bret paying tribute to himself. I actually really like this album with the songs taking on a different life with so many different styles here including a Marilyn Manson sounding version of I want action. Only version I didnt like was the slowed down version of Fallen angel. |

Uhh.. this one isn't gonna make us forget about the originals. The cd is pretty much worthless, especially Pauly Shore's version of "Unskinny Bop" (retitled "Unskinny Cock" with re-written lyrics). There's also a "punk" version of "Talk Dirty..." that falls flat on its ass. I actually did like the "nu-metal" version of "Look What the Cat.." though I don't think its Bret singing. But who knows? The liner notes list guest musicians but doesn't even say what tracks they're on or what they played. |

cont.. Yes, indeed this seems to be an attempt to get more money from longtime Poison fans(unfortunately in my case it worked). Bottom line: stick with the originals and avoid this cash-in. |

This release is just stupid in my opinion. |
From: Tony | Date: December 4, 2003 at 22:16 |
Horrible in every way, shape, & form!!! A complete waste of time you will BARELY listen to once and never touch again. Pauly Shore doing "Unskinny Bop" isn't even remotely amusing and might be the stupidest thing you will ever hear. Whatever "cool" is Pauly Shore is the antedote. This release is actually physically "painful" to hear. Not even a .00001 out of 10 (getting the picture this is horrible here?). |

Quote above from CC: "Its actually Bret working with other musicians." NO SHIT! It only says that above on the personnel list, ...duh! Well CC (Mr. Master Of The Obvious), it looks like yer out numbered on this one. Everyone except YOU thinks this album SUCKS! |

So fucking what,do I care what a cunt like you thinks........no! |
From: jason (FA-Q) | Date: December 8, 2003 at 21:46 |
Hey crabby!... Don't get mad at me because yer the only one that doesn't think this album is revolting. Go ahead, you can like it all by your little ol' lonesome self. |

Awfull album! He`s taking the urine! Appaling covers of a once good band! I mean, 'Unskinny Bop'is a glam classic and Brett`s murdered it! Tosser. I forgive him now cos of the better 'Songs of life' and the glamtastic 'Strange Sensation'. Tc |

This is a joke with no punchline! Bad Bad Bad.............. |
From: Kip | Date: September 18, 2004 at 23:25 |
Yeah, this is one to avoid with the exception of one or two songs. But the yell metal version of Look What The Cat Dragged In is actually really, really cool! The lyrics really fit the mood it's screamed in. I like how he changed the lyrics in the chorus - "Girl on the left of me, a bitch on the right, I know damn well I f*cked both last night!" Cool stuff. The re-done songs with Bret singing are for the most part bad, with the lone exception being Something To Believe In, which is excellent. |

I listened to samples of this a while back...you couldn't get me to buy this by pointing a gun at my head! |
