Bloody grunge shit, only "Mercy me" is a good one, in the mood of QUEENSRYCHE

From: Dragonfly Date: December 15, 2001 at 10:03
I hope they somehow read this. Their first release is a 10 and this crap is a 1. How the mighty has fallen. Surface Of Pain is just that. It PAINs me to have paid any money for this(in the landfill now). It also PAINs me to listen to this after the super first release. What a PAIN!!!!!!!!

Me gusta bastante. También su flux es muy bueno, y canciones como back on earth es de lo mejor de Masquerade. Es un grupo realmente bueno, con cantante y guitarrista muy por encima de la media, pero no como los magos Ronnie y Tony de TNT

My brother sent this to me a few years back. This is ana wesome cd! I couldn't believe that even in the 90's there was still great metal out there! If anyone has the first album let me know.

SHIT MAN!!.dont you just hate that...another great band turned to waste!.after the first album i had great expectations on these guys but this stuff is very dissapointing.

From: Grimwulf Date: June 12, 2004 at 15:49
Altho they took another direction on this cd, they still have that melodic side with great melodies...does sound like a lost queensryche cd tho......but it doesnt mean that its a bad thing!!!!Queensryches a great band!!Worth a listen!

This CD is one of the all time very worst I have ever had the displeasure of listening to. I bought this before shelling out $30 for the JAP pressed 1st CD hoping to find a cheap thrill. No such luck. Every song here is unfocused, disillusioned noise. I spun this album 4 or 5 times searching for ONE track that I may want to hear again someday. And as Weird Al would say, I'd rather dive into a swimming pool filled with double edged razor blades, than spend one more minute listening to this. 1/10

Yes, this is a complete tragedy in reference to the magical debut and one of the biggest shames in musical history, but I actually don't mind 'State of grace' and also 'Mercy me'. Two pretty cool songs and I have listened to this CD one or two times. I've heard worse sell-out releases, that's all I can really say in favour of this one.

As with most of the reviews above this followup is a Fucking piece of Trash!!!! JUDAS KISS is the only track worth hearing on this one!!! AS far as Flux is concerned, Ive tried to get it to grow on me, Absolutely ,without a doubt not going to happen!!!!!! How can a Band of their talent, none the less a copycat of TNT!!! Have the Nerve to try and serve this out to THE LOYAL FANS OF MELODIC METAL????? THEY should be ashamed, Furthermore, I personally am embarrased to have put THOMAS GSON in the

crap......trash....thanks for the nice comments. How many times you guys who left those messages have listened to this CD? Maybe once or twice or just few songs? This band hit jaoan with Danish Jackal and I came to the show just for seeing Jackal BUT I found Masquerade was a very very talent band who could create the new style of Hard Rock. They were not a grunge band at all! This CD is with full of great songs with melodies.Pick up the CD from the trash and give it a chance!

Totally unenjoyable after their awesome debut.

From: juan carlos Date: January 6, 2007 at 23:34

GREAT CD 98/100 HUGE MELODIC/MODERN/PROG METAL in the "RAGE FOR ORDER"mood ! This band just need to change their name ,because the AOR integrists don't leave any chance to something different ! PLEASE TRY IT IF YOU HAVE AN OPEN MIND ON GREAT MUSIC Somebody say GRUNGE ???!! come on !it's a great MODERN METAL ALBUM like WICKED MARAYA/LETHAL/CRIMSON GLORY so everything but GRUNGE hell no !huge vocalist and guitar player good prod too !!!

From: metalmastermusic Date: June 23, 2008 at 23:10
Grunge music ??? I think not, this is certianly not melodic rock but I would consider it heavy metal. This one grows on you after you listen to it a few times. It has some solid guitar work on it and unique vocals which really set it apart. Those who want to call it grunge obviously don't know their music. 75/100

Wow..is hard to believe that this is the same band that recorded that marvellous AOR debut album in 1992...well this is their follow up to that debut and is another story...a completely change of musical direction...zero AOR and more Metal...Melodic of course...still the album is a mind blower IMHO..."Judas Kiss" is a rocking stater,"State Of Grace" & "Suffering" are awesome,"America" this one really rocks & "Feels Good" also gives some good rocking,i really liked it this one...in general lines is not a bad record unless you are too much into their AOR debut(like myself)but actually i quite enjoyed this one too...91/100
