For one of the few bands from the late 80ís to have their original line-up intact, BAB A.D.has been on a couple decade dry spell. John Mathews was the original guitarist before the band got signed with Danny DeLaRosa. The 4 best tracks here are cleaned up demos from "In The Beginning... Persuaders Recordings 86-88 (2006)". Derek Davis hasn't lost much range with the hands of time as the band still has it's original sound with the new tracks, problem is they aren't that good besides "Fool on Fire". It's been 17 years since the mediocre " American Blitzkrieg (2000) " so they where due big time. Not a bad listen with a few highlights, but not a triumphant return to form. My suggestion ifs get some outside writers and a producer that can squeeze a few drops of glory days out of the band. Hopefully in time for ROBO COP III.

You've got a better chance of discovering the lost city of Atlantis at the bottom of your septic system than you do of an 80s rock/metal band staging a comeback that matches their glory days, and with "Revelation Highway," Babylon A.D. proves to be no exception to the rule. That said, while it may not live up to the standards set by their eponymous debut or excellent sophomore effort, it's still a good, solid hard rock album (and it's significantly better than their "sellout" CD, "American Blitzkrieg"). Sure, the production could be better, and while the hooks aren't as pop-metal instant as they were back in '89, they're still (mostly) there, and the band bangs out some smoking rock tunes that will make your foot stomp a little heavier on the gas pedal while you're zipping down the highway.
