this is there best cd to date heavier than the first, but still an awesome change. i reccommend it to anyone who liked the first two.

From: Sarracenia Date: May 19, 2002 at 6:51
Not a bad album, but not real noteworthy either. They have abandoned their hair-metal roots (like everyone else) and have adopted a harder, darker sound. If you're a collector or a huge fan, I'd buy it; if not, you're not missing much.

From: baris Date: September 8, 2002 at 11:30
I don't have this one and I wonder the new style of the band. Album name and cover are impressing.

From: Drag-in-Bones Date: November 3, 2002 at 13:40
"American Blitzkrieg" is their 4th album. Also check out "Babylon A.D.- Live"!!!This band Rooocks!!!

From: M. Allen Date: December 24, 2002 at 19:38
One of the more anticipated comeback albums of 2000, but like so many bands before them, BABYLON A.D. managed to alienate many fans by changing their style. The hair-metal trappings have been replaced by a heavy-hitting, aggressive hard rock sound with some modern hints. The CD's standout track--and closest to B.A.D.'s old sound--is "Sinking in the Sand," a memorable, attitude-driven rocker that's sure to please. The band may not have knocked one out of the park, but neither did they strike out.

Most dissappointing cd from Babylon AD. The first 2 rock big time, this has a darker heavier vibe to it, it's just not them. Jay from Australia.

From: Rycheage Date: June 11, 2003 at 23:33
It's just a case of being about 7 or 8 years too late and even then I wouldn't bet on the record being accepted by anyone. Why did Warrant, Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Dokken and Bulletboys all change back to their classic style? Because changing pissed off their fans and gained zero new ones in the process. Same will go for Babylon AD.

From: RattnRoll Date: September 4, 2003 at 9:45
Don't get me wrong I loved, absolutely loved Nothing Sacred, so Babylon AD have a lot of credit with me. But when I refer to Warrant's 'Belly to Belly' in describing this album, you get where this album went wrong. To the guys in Babylon A.D.grow your hair and make an album fans expect and love!

Agreed, it's not the hook-driven hair-metal of the first two studio albums, but it's not all that bad. As Sarracenia mentions, it's harder and darker. The riffs are good though, the talent is obviously still there (unlike Wildside's second release where they replaced two awesome guitarists with one mediocre one...). The main beef I have with it is the production, it kinda sounds like they recorded it under a blanket or something. All things considered I'd give it a 7/10.

From: Bizkit82 Date: December 16, 2003 at 15:58
These guys had their moments. I had no idea they were still around. Seems like the cool thing lately is to "get the band back together dude" and see if anyone cares. Amazing. I was never into BAD but they do sound alright. Although the days of recording onto 2 inch tape with a few hundred thousand to spend are all but over, they seem to make it work. BLUE CHARVEL, I totally agree on the WILDSIDE thing. Two killer guitarists left, and they got one dreary and hopelessly mediocre one on the second.

From: babylon Date: December 17, 2003 at 17:27
Funny thing about this cd is that it sounds worse than the demo version. Drerk Davis gave me a copy of the complete demos right before this cd came out and after I bought the real cd I noticed that the mix really sucks. The demo sounds much better. The songs could have been better IMO but still not too bad. The first 2 are classics and this one is more like 7/10. The 7.5/10 for the demo .

From: CTS Date: April 12, 2004 at 21:51
American Blitzkreig, I Wanna Live, The Sky's Falling. Sadly the only really good songs on this CD Not too bad considering the gap between albums and the way the metal scene has changed, but I expected more from one of my fav bands...

From: Hrudet Date: May 22, 2004 at 20:07
What we get here is a mix of sleazy rock'n roll, rougher modern rock and straight hard rock. Many will claim this is just another slice of crappy modern hard rock, but there is more to it than that. We are offered songs from a variety of styles, and I must admit that I like the ballads and the more traditional hard rock styled songs the best. They are actually quite good. All in all, worth checking out if you are a collector or a die-hard Babylon AD fan. If not, spend your money elsewhere.

This can't be Babylon a.d.!!! If you listen the previous albums and liked them, don't listen this. 0/10

From: onemorecast Date: November 7, 2004 at 18:21
There first album was so good there was no way to match it. I'm surprised their still around.

From: Geoff Date: March 9, 2005 at 2:15
This isn't so bad. I wouldn't call it a sell-out disc as it's still hard rock, just with a slightly modern touch. There's actually quite a few good mid-tempo rockers here. Really quite a decent disc.

From: RattnRoll Date: December 13, 2005 at 5:36
I liked Nothing Sacred and when I saw this I bought it without hesitation. For once in my life I should have hesitated, it was nothing like N.S. Sure it's not all bad, but I just can't get that awful Shadowlife/BellytoBelly taste out of my mouth.. yech.

From: Rob Date: August 19, 2006 at 18:09
Definitely more modern sounding, which is not a good thing if you liked the old Babylon AD discs. A few songs are okay but hearing them try and sound "grunge" turns my stomach. Good references to Belly To Belly and Shadowlife. This goes right in there with 'em.

From: Rambo Rockerman Date: January 20, 2008 at 13:08
This is a shame as they completely changed their style, the CD is a pass although if 50 out of a 100 is.

From: MiGoFungus Date: January 18, 2010 at 16:03
I just can't stand the sound of this album. I've given it a few tries because I love the first ones but this one repulses me. I recommend fans to stay clear of this release.

From: Metal T Date: June 8, 2010 at 18:44
Yeah, this one was a definite style shift, but despite had some balls.Derek's vox are solid no matter what the style of the music-that says alot for him. Some of these tunes really get in your head after awhile in a good way.
