Loverboy fans waited a decade and our patience was rewarded with a half-assed collection of throw-aways called "VI". "VI" actually stands for "Very Inferior" next to the band's '80s output. "Big Picture" is something the band should have tried to see before releasing this turkey to the AOR world. AVOID!

Only 3 tunes are worth saving in this half-assed comeback from one of the greatest bands of the 80's: Big Picture, Spinnin' my Wheels, and Tortured...What happened to Doug Johnson, the keyboard player in this album altered their trademark sound too much for my taste. Also, the guitar sounds "cheap"...Goodbye Angel is the worst song in their entire career, followed closely by So Much for Love...Hey guys, wake up and make a great album,as you used to...and get Doug Johnson back in the band!!!

I loved this band's earlier material, but this apart from a couple of songs is utter garbage. So Much For Love? HA! So much for a decent melody. Night Ranger's comeback album was great, but this was a big disappointment. Wonder if they are planning on releasing anything else? Anybody know?

Taking a liking to the new album will depend on whether you heard the last Paul Dean solo record 'Machine'. For the basis of the band's new tough raw sound comes from that blues drenched rock album.Overall, a departur from the traditional sound, into a tougher leaner meaner band. Could have been a classic if some of the songs were stronger, but with glimses of musical brilliance. Fans must buy!

A few good tunes, but I don't listen to this that much. You have to give them credit, it was brave for them to even think about putting out a new album in 1997!

I got it for 6 bucks or so at a record convention. It was a Cut-out (Brand new otherwise) and I actually enjoy it. Not that I listen to it too much, but It is not bad. It is not Loverboy circa 1986 or so mind you, but still it is good.

yes, not the usual loverboy here. Its not total crap though. theres a few good tracks but alittle too much reworked stuff from paul deans solo album(machine).

Dan - It was Scott Smith that went missing a great shame as he was an integral part of the Loverboy set up. He will be sadly missed.

NO puedo creerlo.Meses esperando por este disco, y cuando me llegó lamenté hasta el último eurito invertido. Basura, basura, basura, no es loverboy, ni los más poperos loverboy ni nada que se le parezca. El peor de la banda y uno de los peores del año. Esperemos que se recuperen de desgracias y se les reactive el cerebro compositor. Ni para fans ni para completistas de colecciones ni para aoreros, ni harders, ni oxtias.Maaalo.3/10

I saw this on the shelf at my local library the other day and checked it out. Agree with many of the above [rather old] comments, a pretty uninspired album. Tracks 1, 4, 5, 10 and 12 are, I guess, okay. Track 7, "Create a Monster" and Track 10, "So Much For Love" are ridiculously bad.

Pretty good release for LOVERBOY in the 90s trying to offer darker lines and more complicated songs with the result being sometimes good and sometimes average!of course the quality of Paul s guitar work saves it along with Mike s strong vocs!probably their worst but not as bad as stated above
