oh my god what a comeback after a decade! Incredible! Mike's voice sounds as good as a quarter of a century ago or even better the guy must be bionic!!! The opener is a cousin of Break it to me gently and equally good- half younger bands can only be jelous and learn how to play with such fire!! To me the title track is the best but all are just great!!Production is superb , sound overwhelming ,no weak points. My only reservation is too little of Paul's great solos.WELCOME HOME GUYS WE LOVE YA!!!1

Buen album pero Loverboy son los 80's el primer corte es el matador eso si mejor que muchos regresos de otros famosos que solo me dieron dolor de estomago

Mike´s voice sounds good allright but in no way this is in the same league with "Lovin´ every minute of it" or "Wildside" albums. I guess it would have helped if Mr. Paul Dean would have been more involved in the songwriting process. The highlights IMHO: 1.Just Getting Started, 3.One Of Them Days, 4. Back For More, 5. Lost With You & 9.As Good As It Gets.

Simply amazing. I've never been a fan of Loverboy... until now. Killer commerical rock from start to finish, with no fillers. The title track, 'As good as it gets' and 'The one that got away' are a few of my faves, but the whole disc is so great. Melodic, catchy, ballsy enough - not a bad word to say about this and by far the most pleasant and unexpected surprise of 2007. Own it.

Sensational album.....esp bearing in mind this is a comeback after so long out. Not a filler track in sight. In fact title + say 'The Real Thing', 'Lost With You' & 'As Good..' are amongst some of the best songs this year. A great modern sound without the downtuned guitars really hits home. Gotta be a top 5 contender for 07.

That's what i've been waiting for!! Good old Loverboy's back! This just MUST be the album of the year in Canada. No bad song , great melodies . Mike's vocals like 20 years ago tho' i agree with aTOMIk it doesn't sound as fresh as their early records. The title track is a killa the riff is really heavy but catchy enough to be played by all radio stations.Generally one of the best rock albums of 2007.

Discazo esplendido!!

This is Loverboy like I've never heard them....and I love it. They've had fantastic songs before but not complete discs without fillers. This is one tremendous disc. Someone compared it to recent Harem Scarem. That is fair. Similar chord progressions. It's probably why I like it so much. Great songs, great singer. This is just a wonderful listen.

Good album but with a modernized sound that makes it sound in some parts like Maroon 5 or this new generaton of pop bands!!!(overall in the ballads)."Just Gettin' Started" blows you away inmediately and them the nice and catchy ballads...A nice one to have but nothing like the 80's real Loverboy!!!.80/100

AOR meets modern...for an almost perfect album. Fun, fun , fun, very enjoyble CD, posibly the best melodic rock album in 2007

Picked this up the other day, listening to it now. This is a pretty decent CD. It's worth getting.

From: edwithmj Date: July 15, 2011 at 19:16
A brilliant evolution for the band. Very loud and powerful songs and explodes from start to finish.

From: tomdwa Date: April 9, 2020 at 12:26
Nice return from a famous 80s melodic rock-band, coming back with a somewhat modernised sound. Enjoyable disc, albeit no classic, the golden 80s in all their glory won't come alive again. Stranded is arguably the best song, it closes the album in style.

From: hair metal again Date: January 19, 2022 at 12:07
excellent release for LOVERBOY once again updating their sound to the new millenium with modern elements here and there in a classy way!great songs, sound, production make Just Gettin Started an album that stands proud in their long catalogue
