I have to say this, but in all my years of listening to metal from all over the world, this has to be one of the biggest piles of shite I've ever had the misfortune to shell out for. AVOID!

I agree with Steve. This is highly overrated.

This recording rules! Kick Axe do not try to sound like everyone else. They have their own special sound. I wish this was more readily available on CD than it is.

Extremely good CD, if you can find it. Not on the level of Vices, but very, very close.

Still no luck getting Rock the World. From either the Kick Axe site or on Ebay (I'm not paying $100 for a CD). Any help would be appreciated.

i picked this up in a used bin the other day for $3.00, why is it so expensive on ebay ??

Hello jtsnake, you should consider yourself very lucky to get it for $3 because I have seen this album go for $200 on ebay. The band just released a remaster version of this album with a new cover and an unreleased bonus track but the original version is extremely rare, that is why it soooo expensive on ebay. So hang onto it and don't sell it for cheap. It is a great album also. I would rate it at 8/10.

The original release was massacred in the studio. The new edition shows just how much good production can add to a record. Originally their 1st release was my favorite, but Rock the World sparks and blazes with excellent guitar work and great singing. I think this was rerecorded? I'm going to buy a legit version of this to show my support of this band (I have it on mp3s). Buy this CD.

LOL, I just googled their website and they Have a video of Rock the World on it. I had forgotten about that one! The video has George Criston barefoot! I kinda rememember from old Hit Parade mag that this was his thing- singing barefoot. The band's guitarist Larry Gillstrom has super glammed up bleach blonde hair. The drum kit (see in the last parts of the song) is a monster that would probably make Alex Van Halen's mouth water. So much damn talent in one band.

I have the latest release of this and it has an excellent bonus track called "Piece of the Rock". Anyway, good album with a couple of filler songs. The lyrics seem to be about medieval fantasy but are good nonetheless.

I could never decide if I liked "Rock the World" or "Vices" better, but regardless, this is a killer disc! Kick Axe should have been all over MTV back in the day, when being on MTV was actually an honor. Stand outs: "Rock the World," "The Chain," "Red Line," "We Still Remember," and "Piece of the Rock" (which they originally wrote for Black Sabbath and was eventually given to King Kobra for their "Ready To Strike" release).

very good release for KICK AXE back in 87 offering some fine pomp-epic hard rock music with remarkable skill ,but on the other hand no such big songs as needed to make some impact ,as the competition was way too high at the moment!"devachan","piece of the rock","medusa" and "red line" are the highlights!good stuff
