Featuring 'Jane', one of the all time great AOR songs. This was the superb Mickey Thomas's first cd with the band . A very strong set of songs, Highlighted by Jane, The Same Way, Girl With The Hungry Eyes. The band went on and released the excellent 'Modern Times' & 'Nuclear Furniture'albums, then changed their name to just Starship and released the Superb love Among The Cannibals cd amongst others. and |

There are many standout songs on this platter starting with the seminal AOR classic hit 'Jane' which is a landmark song in itself within the AOR genre. We've got the similarly fantastic 'Just The Same', while 'Girl With The Hungry Eyes' rocks big time. A couple of my favorite tracks are the quieter ones such as 'Fading Lady Light' and 'Lightning Rose'. Others which invoke memories from the past include 'Freedom At Point Zero' and the upbeat 'Rock Music'. |

This was a fun one. There was talent here and fairly good song writing. Not all are good, but I still enjoyed it. |

ok, think about this, out were the 2 lead vocalists and in, Mickey Thomas, eberyone dismissed this album before it was released, then one listen, wowowowowow, Mickey is fantastic and a shame he is not bigger then he is. What great songs, check out Things to Come and Awakenings, what a voice, after this one, Grace was back and I did not enjoy the music as much, then a few albums later, it was just Mickey on vocals again, this is where he started and a great one!!! |

Also check out their other albums like: "Modern times" (featuring :find your way back) and "Winds of change". Both these albums contain some really good aor tracks. |

Yep, not all the Tracks are great but there are some awesome songs like the classic "Jane", "Just the Same"(Stunning!), "Lightning Rose" and "Fading Lady Light". I can not forget about "Awakening" a bit pomp-ish but with a great job of Craig Chaquico and Paul Kantner on guitars. Great job of Mickey Thomas as well. 8.5/10 |
