Pretty solid album, but the production is really lacking. Drums sound really thin, everything is kinda hollow sounding. This would be a ton better if it were better produced. Luckily, both "Mystery Eyes" and "IV" sound like the budget was considerably upped. I'd recommend those two if you're just getting into these guys.

From: Dragonfly Date: December 14, 2001 at 18:06
I agree with Mark above. The song writing of Micheal Bormann is top notch but the production is weak. Starting with this release the songs are more easily remembered when your driving down the road.

From: Reebboy Date: January 28, 2002 at 21:53
This was the second CD I bought by them and for awhile I thought that this was their first album because the production was pretty raw. I actually like how it is produced because it gives the cd a not so polished, heavier sound. This happens to be my favorite CD from them so far.

Una de las mejores bandas alemanas de hard, jaded heart.

From: wendal09 Date: August 6, 2003 at 9:58
I totally agree with the comments above. There is nothing wrong with this CD other than the production. If they had the same budget that they did on The Journey will never end this would be tremendous.

The only thing I even remember about this album is the cover of 'Help'. It's not that the songs are bad, it's that they're not the instant classics (to my ears) that the other Jaded Heart albums are. 7/10.

From: Alejandro Date: July 5, 2004 at 13:07

GREAT ALBUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From: Geoff Date: February 1, 2005 at 23:48
Great second album, but clealry lacking the killer punch of the debut. 'Dangerous' is a killer hard rocker, 'Lust' and 'Without a warning' are great rockers too, whilst 'The dream is over' is actually one of my favourite Jaded Heart songs in the entire collection. Beautiful ballad. The rest is still all very good to great songs and this is a very good album, but I still prefer the debut. Excellent band, great album.

From: Metalmusicman Date: December 9, 2006 at 21:35
For some reason this album seems to get overlooked a lot from this all too brilliant band and I'm not quite sure why. I can only assume it because of the lack of really standout tracks. Usually with this killer band you get 3 or 4 tracks per disc that really jump out at you. This time around, you get a more solid overall consistant quality running through the album, that makes each song on it's own better, but takes away from the big bang effect. So while overall it is really a stunning album...

From: Metalmusicman Date: December 9, 2006 at 21:39
You don't get those big bangs. So somehow you feel letdown at the end. Even though you just listened to a really good melodic rock disc. The bottom line is that this is a very good album that flows beautifully from beginning to end. Fans of the band will surely appriciate this one too.

Great Album and Songs, but the production is thin ! But who cares, when the music is so damn fine ! Well done boys ! 8,5 Points ! Great !

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: April 11, 2007 at 13:31
Good Melodic Hard Rock, lejos de su obra maestra alternan algunos cortes de muy buen nivel otros buenos y algunos regulares no hay nada grande como en el anterior pero el disco cumple 8/10.

From: metalmaniac777 Date: January 2, 2011 at 7:59
Production is thinner than an anorexic chick after a 4-day fast followed by a cleansing enema, but the songs are more than strong enough to rise above that little flaw. While the debut was blessed with better sonic quality, the songs on this sophomore CD are better written, giving this one the edge. I would let my ass be whipped raw by a sadistic dominatrix who specializes in bad boy beatings if these tracks could be paired with the punchier production of the first album. Things kick off in fine fashion with the rousing melodic rocker "No Hesitation" and rarely let up from there, dishing out one hook-filled tune after another. If not for the lackluster sound quality, this release would be hailed as a masterpiece in melodic hard rock circles.

From: hair metal again Date: March 6, 2011 at 1:03
excellent release by JADED HEART full of hooks and great ideas.songwriting is in high level and the band seems in good condition.michael bormann is surely the highlight once again with his toucking voice and his ability of writing anthemic hard rock songs.essential once again

From: Kralli Date: April 23, 2012 at 11:18
Seriously guys, you can't listen to a cd with a production like this, for real.

From: 123charpenay Date: April 23, 2012 at 13:15
their first record is a bomb.this, is excellent. michael bormann is one of the best european singer with mr soto ,coverdale for example.ok the production could be better i don t like the sound of the drums (too raw at my taste).but nevertheless it s not a big problem cause the production is not awful and this record is easy to listen.no fillers only killers i love this band.not now they are too metal and not enough melodic.you can buy closed eyes all the albums with michael bormann and the first with the new singer(excellent).after they change their style it s not for me.

From: 123charpenay Date: October 1, 2013 at 13:37
a little add to my last comment.finally 3 fillers track 3 ,5,13 are very average.i recommand the japan import cause the bonus track "in the nite" is a killer song.a bomb!!!!

From: Ydol eM Date: February 6, 2015 at 15:00
Perhaps, they wanted to sound like an American heavy rock top band of late 80s (Bon Jovi, Firehouse or Danger Danger) but this album is typical model of an average European hard (sometimes aor) rock at that time being - M.ill.ion or weaker Fair Warning. I agree with Mark's comment about the poor production. If it had been better I would have added even 10 points more. Btw. MB is one of my most favourite European rock singers but here he is blank like the front cover of this cd. 75/100.
