Great keyboard-shined AOR that sounded a bit archaic by 1987. Fans of Boston will have a field day, possibly even a field YEAR, with this one. Loaded up with clean high register vocals, killer harmonies and memorable choruses. Recommended for those who like Arcangel, Styx, Network "Nightwork", Thrills, Spys, Trillion, Touch and, of course, Boston.

Koogles gives you the right bands. This is not AOR but the finest pomprock one can imagine, even better than their debut! If you want to know what pomprock is all about, well, this is the finest example to hear how it sounds. Simply BRILLIANT !! The keys are made in heaven. A REAL CLASSIC !!!!! BUY !!!! BUY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There are, without question, some excellent moments onboard here. In particular the stunning 'Scars On My Heart', AOR of the highest order, similar to the wonderfully understated Beau Coup. Another standout is the track 'Secret Dreams', written by the bands producer Bill Grabowski. Other gems include the ballad 'I'll Be Waiting', along with the melodic mid-tempo pair of 'The Night Is Still Young' and the opener 'Never Comin' Back'.

I saw these guys play at The Scorpion in State College PA back in '87. They were a little less "pomp" in concert (covering tunes like DLR's "Yankee Rose") but they still rocked. This is a great album by a band that should have been huge. Highly recommended, if you can find it.

I have it somewhere, covered in dust. I will have to dig it out and give it another try.

You SHOULD do that, Great Dane. Maybe it's not a classic, but it's fantastic pomp rock ! A pleasure to listen to !!!! !

Not a classic, but a pretty essential for fans of keyboard-drenched 80's AOR. It's certainly more consistent than the debut (although strangely the band themselves were far from happy with "No Rules"). Wonderful soaring vocals and perfectly pitched harmonies, very much in the Boston/Styx vein, but probably just needing one killer stand-out track to make this sensational. Get this (if you can find it). 8.5/10.

This time I agree with you, TIM(2) ! I only think it's even better than Boston and it's not AOR but POMP !

A wonderful CD it is.If you like BOSTON - third stage, BON JOVI - first two CDs, HONEYMOON SUITE and LOVERBOY, surely you will like this one. There are great songs here like SCARS , FALLEN ANGEL, I`LL BE WAITING, THE NIGHT ... and SECRET DREAMS ( BON JOVI-7800 ) I don`t know if it`s a classic ( depends on you ), but you have to got it, that`s for sure.

An improvement over the first album, but I still don't hear the Boston comparison - they are a different league entirely.

the drawing on the front cover is horrible ,limit ridiculous.it s the lone weak point of this masterpiece.in the start of the ninethies,i ve read in "rock time" french magazine, that this record was one of the best a o r indie realise ever, but they says that this cd was a real raritie very very hard to find in france.almost impossible.one day ,miracle i ve find it in a little used cd shop in lyon.the price was expensive ,150 francs(22 euro now)but it s a crime to miss this jewel.in this time ,no internet it was impossible to listen this cd before buying.the lone very small chance to catch this cd was to go in paris ,on champs elysées ,at the virgin megastore.but i m living in lyon at 500 kms to paris.so i take the risk to put 22 euro on a used cd that i ve never listen one minute of music.i ve never regret my choice.each song of this fantastic realise is a monument.the production and the sound are clear like crystal water.the two singers are different but no trouble they are excellent!!
