I usually don't comment on titles that don't "pull my chain", but, this is an exception. If you are expecting the same "Uptempo" cheerful style of melodic rock that we experienced on the first two releases, then you will be dissappointed in this one. I know I was. This is much more "laid back" AOR and doesn't have that crisp indie feel of the two previous releases. For completists only!! |

Sorry, Delbert, but this time I don't quite agree with you. Sure, it is definitely going into a different direction as their previous 2 albums, but nevertheless I think this is a brilliant release. I would say it is slightly progressive AOR, which I am totally fine with. Tastes differ as we know ......... |

Your right Bernd, I probably overstated this.....I think I was so dissappointed when I got my copy......I was expecting the "old" Hybrid Ice style and it just wasn't there this time. There are some out there that will really love this and I respect that, it just let me down so hard is the best way I can describe it. Who knows, after I put it away and get it back out somewhere down the line my ears might perk up. I guess that's why I don't like commenting on titles that really don't excite me...... |

"Faith Without Works" is masterpiece of prog/rock. Yes, it is totally different Hybrid Ice than HY from 80s...but, there are so good musicianship on this release....it doesn't matter what HY have played on first two albums. I listen this CD, and forget the name of the band....try in that way. You ll find that "Mind's Eye" is fine release/great music, as I wrote. |
