This is an incredibly charming album to listen to now when you consider the accomplishments this man has achieved musically in recent years. Although it sounds dated and has real pop overtones it is still a hook laden AOR album that shows the immense promise he would obviously go on to fulfil. 7.5/10

Que gozada de disco. Esta joya gustará incluso a los que no son precisamente fans de GH. Gary canta tan bien como siempre, creando unas armonias vocales que, junto a unos coros increibles, hacen que cada tema se meta en tu cabeza para siempre. En este cd no hay casi nada de la parte más "epica" de Ten y hay mucho más de AOR, incluso hay coros que me suena al AOR de la primera mitad de los 80 (T.11), un tema con saxo (T.3), instrumental rimbombante (T.14), medios tiempos increibles (T10).Y hay +

Lo de que gustará a los que no son seguidores de TEN, no solo va por que el disco tenga mucho del AOR que Ten perdieron con los años sino por que la producción es bastante buena (no produce Gary). Mis temas favoritos: 2, 5, 7, 10...bueno realmente todos por que es un disco para oir del tirón. Sesenta minutazos de placer. THIS IS A MUST HAVE CD FOR ALL MELODIC ROCK/AOR FAN.

This album have 3 songs more Hammer Your Heart and Can't Get You Out of My Head Strength of Heart is a good ballad too. 3 buenas canciones que se agregan al original Big bad wolf(89). Si consigues un album que sea este aparte de los temas agregados. un colosal album de AOR.

La verdad es que los 3 primeros temas se mueven en unos niveles de calidad realmente enormes,los 2 primeros sin lugar a dudas de lo mejor q he escuchado jamás,luego ya hay que dar un buen salto hasta casi el final del disco para encontrarnos con temas como "Can't Get You Out of My Head" o "Vigilante" que tb son realmente buenos,en cuanto al resto de canciones para mi gusto personal se mueven entre el aprobado raspaillo y el aprobado holgado.Para aficionados al AOR un disco bastante APROVECHABLE.

The first 2 tracks are both killer melodic rockers, track 3 is a nice ballad and track 4 is a 100% Def Leppard b-side. After the nice start, the album seems to get lost in 80's synth-pop undertones and for me it really ruins the mood of the album. I wanted to hear melodic hard rock, not this sort of stuff. Not all the songs are write-offs, but I think I'd have been happier with a 4 track EP of the first 4 songs, though 'Stay' and a few others are OK, shame about the synth though.

Absolutely love this album to bits. All except the ballad 'Stay', which IMO is the worst track Gary ever wrote. Took me a while to track down, as this was criminally only released in Norway. I always assumed that 'back in the day' Now and Then would have cashed in on a reissue of this lost gem, but as it goes they never did. Wonderful keyboard laden AOR, and is like no other Gary Hughes album. Tracks like Some Kind Of Evil and Christine are immense - Highly Reccomended album. 9/10.

THATS AN ALBUM KILLER...From the song no1 to the last one. If you dont have that album go and burn the rest of your albums unless you have Dan Lucas-Canada cd and HERO everytime EP...but that album is a GEM that needs to be in every respective and serious colection. The whole album is excellent! I do especially like to remark "Man Behind the Mask", which is outstanding and an AOR gem. 8.5/10.

Grandes temas con esa voz gruesa e incomparable de Gary Hughes, la primera es una joya total Some kind of evil con un aire algo místico por esos teclados,Strengh of Heart es una excelente balada lleno de sentimiento que solo el gran Gary Hughes sabe imprimir en la canción,los temas en este album son más personales que con su banda TEN, son más directos, algunas llevan las armonías hasta el orgasmo auditivo,excelente album para disfrutar,9/10.

Ajá veo comentarios diversos, para mí no un clásico pero sí un gran disco de AOR con sus toques Poperos, Gary Hughes de las mejores voces aparecidas a finales de los 80s y cierto, "Some Kind of Evil" y "Only True Love Lasts Forever"(Vaya que temazooo!!) los mejores y "Man Behind the Mask" no se queda atras o la PopAOR "Hammer Your Heart" muy buenas. De ahi todo aceptable, la balada muy fina con ese solo de trompeta en "Strength of Heart" y la otra balada a lo TEN en "Christine". 8.7/10

Some Kind Of Evil dios mio que buen arranque que stylo la de este tipo es realmente brillante que buen albun carambas que sonido que temas tan pulidos vaya vaya que sorpresota con Gary es un buen albun me ah gustado y vaya que mucho, otro muy buen album me encanta el tremendo stylo que tiene, esto es musica para extraterrestres sin mas que decir aplausos para este buen trabajo..

good CD 80/100 HI-TECH BRIT AOR between OUTSIDE EDGE/STRANGEWAYS/DEF LEPPARD/HEARTLAND/RIO or late HEAVY PETTIN'or early TEN You can find easily some good reissue on the web ! GARY HUGHES was then a big hope , but now !!! BUY IT !

Brilliant album by Gary Hughes..undoubtebly his best solo effort so far..."Some Kind Of Evil" is a blast!,"Only True Love Last Forever" by far his most outstanding song of all times IMHO,"Strenght Of Heart" a beauty,"Big Bad Wolf" catchy,"Stay" a nice touchy ballad & "Vigilante" ends this album in such a great way...AOR fans at heart will love this album...like me!!! .93/100..get it!!!
