since several years finland, this little country in the north of europe,is the best country of the world for melodic rock.king company is a new fabulous finnish band.they don t sound finnish like the exceptional free spirit, land of tales, brother firetribe, prayer, human temple, reckless love, stala&so,ect ect...their music is more oriented guitar so they sound melodic hard rock in the vein of whitesnake and seventh key.in a blind test it s impossible to guess that they come from the country of santa claus.even if the choruse is great track 11 is a filler, track 12 the japan bonus track is an acoustic version from "farewell".the rest is simply extraordinary.it s a top class melodic rock record with an excellent singer ,a perfect production and only killer songs with exceptional choruses.all these songs are very catchy and will enter in your brain immediatly.this band is very talented ,they are a factory of melodic hard rock hits.really ,2016 is a marvellous year it s a firework of super news. |

I checked this out expecting a couple good songs and a lot of that Santa Cruz/Reckless Love silliness that these Scandinavians so easily fall prey to. What a surprise, this is actually really good! The soaring vocals and lovely lyrics would be pleasing to an AOR fan, but the music itself has a heavy, "majestic," almost power-metal going on that keeps it from being weak and watery. Lots of guitar flash, too. Kinda reminds me of a mix of Badlands and XYZ, especially in the vocals, but musically maybe someone heavier like Leatherwolf. For somebody that's finally growing a little bored with constantly rehashing the '80's, this is a real gem, and definitely going to make my year-end list. |
