From: Norrie Quinn Date: February 13, 2001 at 22:14
I have all the vinyl but nothing to play it on...so finding it all on Napster was great. I bumped into two of the Guys in 1990 on the London Underground. They were trying to start another Band called!

From: Norrie Quinn Date: February 13, 2001 at 22:14
Called Mothers Ruin.

Rock Ain't Dead is probably the greatest 'lost gem' of 80s rock. My all time favorite album of that genre, particularly the three song in the middle of side 2....probably the greatest 12 minutes in 80s rock. If this had been released anytime after '86 I feel it would've been a commercial smash. There will never be another album as strong as this one. For anybody who owns a copy of this, rock truly will never be dead.

From: Guadalupe Alvar Date: July 31, 2001 at 22:11
Does anybody have all there CD's, or know were I can get them? My e-mail alvarado30@yahoo.com

One of the worst band i have ever listened.. How come you all can like it? Hamie guy's singing!? is ear-scratching! Bad song-writing, bad performance.. AC/DC kinda pretended bullshit..I can't believe its $65 ..I don't even pay $1 for the album!

From: HG Date: February 17, 2002 at 15:21
Outstanding vocals on this one. Sounds kind of like a bratty little kid! Instruments are played in the Def Leppard style.

From: toño chile Date: May 11, 2002 at 8:07
good album but.......not is the fiirst that is terrific, great song hell is beatyfiful, devil in her eyes...exellent albumm of hamie and company

From: Steve T Date: July 26, 2002 at 11:44
No great shakes here. The songs were starting to slip and Hamie's vocals were almost beyond being listenable. I saw these guys live in England back in the day and they were DEFINATELY a live band.

From: ted Date: September 21, 2002 at 9:31

From: Sugarbuzz Date: May 20, 2003 at 19:46
Anyone wondering why the hair metal genre died should look no further than an album like this! My dog sings better after a swift kick in the crotch (do dogs have a crotch?) Hamie never met a note he didn't like to torture and the songs are nothing more than 3rd rate Def Leppard knockoffs.

From: Scandinavia Date: September 14, 2003 at 13:12
This one's posted under ebay rarities???? I don't get it...I often seem to run across it...Hmmm...Maybe I should pick it up next time! I own the album version & I don't like it at all...Haha guess that's why I never bought the cd version! That figures...

From: mr. x Date: September 20, 2003 at 17:36
very bad album. the lead-singer is the worst in the whole rock szene. don`t waste your money on this one!

From: Christine Date: December 2, 2003 at 16:34
I saw the video for "Rock Ain't Dead" yesterday on VH1 Classic's Metal Mania hour. Now I remember why I don't have this album - Hamie has one of the worst voices I've ever heard! Which is a shame, because musically they were pretty good.

From: Scandi Date: February 15, 2004 at 17:40
!Good day... I think that's even better!

From: Punky Mendoza Date: March 31, 2004 at 18:13
Christine... I'm glad you said musically the band was pretty good... my confidence level shot up by 100% :-)

From: Chad Erdmann Date: April 4, 2004 at 3:19
If you have a chance and like this album, pick up the band Chyld. Very good melodic rock with Hamie on lead vox. This album gets better the more I listen to it. I remember buying it when it first came out in the 80's and shelved it. I sure am glad that it has been re-released on cd. Pick it up, you will not be disappointed.

From: gener8tr Date: April 13, 2004 at 14:39
I love this album! I think Hamie's often "off key" screachy vocals simply add to the ambience... Great 80's Circus Magazine metal band!

From: Eugenio "Waite" Date: April 26, 2004 at 17:30
Sorry for the strong lenguage, but anyone who has talked bad about this treasure should just fuck off. I'm realy pissed, the band is just unique, no band (not even leppard on their early days) could match as wise teh melodic heavy metal riffs of the NWOBHM with a melodic hardr rock with so much punch than this.

From: Eugenio "Waite" Date: April 26, 2004 at 17:32
Haime is not a hi-noter, but who cares, his voice is great in his own way and it gives the band the identity that many others where hungry to get making just copy of others. This album is just perfect, and if you get the latest reissue it will include 2 killer bonus tracks Crazy And City Girl. A classis, should be in everyones collection 10/10 PERFECT!!!!

From: lorraine walker Date: July 12, 2004 at 10:41
knew all the band personally great bunch of guys and if any of you see it love to you all (andi from cannes ex g/friend) lorraine theyre FAB!!!

From: kevin f. Date: September 12, 2004 at 20:03
its obvious to me that if you think this album sucks you are not a true listener of 80's hard rock and should go sit in front of your MTV garbage and let the true fans of this great band enjoy this cd.hamie is a great singer and his band chyld kicks ass also.long live 80's hard rock

From: Scorpster Date: October 14, 2004 at 1:59
Had this on Lp a couple of years and and lost it. Found the cd on ebay. Sounds just as good now as it did then!!! This album kicks major ass!!! ALWAYS will be one of my favorite cd's. How about a reunion, guy's???

From: Euegnio Chahin Date: December 16, 2004 at 15:20
Punky Mendoza, you "fucking" rock! wha't are u up 2? Music needs you bad!

From: Nick C Date: December 16, 2004 at 16:28
Not as good as the first album and some of the songs suck (Throw a Party) plus aside from the music the sleeve is sooo lame! BUT it still rocks hard for a good part of the album and is still probably better than 85% of what is released today. Could do with these guys reforming .. but then things are never quite the same!

From: Paul Ryan Date: December 17, 2004 at 13:12
Euginio, if you go to www.rockunited.com, you will see a brand new interview with Punky Mendoza that was only put on the site on the 10th of December 2004. It gives his e-mail address where you can e-mail a request and he will send you some of the new music he is doing now.

From: aTomiK Date: January 14, 2005 at 7:47
Now this is a classic! The singer has quite original voice but that just makes it better. If u like hard rock then u gotta have this!

From: z4roxx Date: January 14, 2005 at 18:47
Yes it's a classic, but I think"big bang"is much more better and catchy as this one...

From: Geoff Date: February 12, 2005 at 19:35
Ouch! I used to have this CD but traded it away. No, I'm not too sad because I'm sure it was a worthy trade... but man it's worth a decent penny. Anyway, enough. The vocals take a little getting used to, but this CD is f*cking excellent. At times I would place this alongside Def Leppard's 'Pyromania'. Great CD. Almost every track on this is great!

From: StarCity Rocker Date: March 9, 2005 at 9:31
Like Geoff, I definitely picked up on the Pyromania vibe on this album. Very good hard rock album here. "Rock Ain't Dead" is a great opening number and the album really never lets up (except for "Heart Attack" which wasn't bad but not as good as the others.) "City Girl," a bonus track on the new versions, was another one of my favorites. Very recommended and should be more available and affordable than the eBay average lets on.

From: Rodbert Date: June 29, 2005 at 15:00
Just heard Punky's new music. It rocks. Pettin should get back together.

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: October 15, 2006 at 23:03

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: October 15, 2006 at 23:09

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: October 15, 2006 at 23:13

From: glamrockerarchie Date: May 21, 2007 at 13:47
this is a good cd ,pretty solid right through, and rock aint dead kicks ass, his voice aint for everyone one but i like different styles not sounding all the same, but i dont gey where the def lepp similarities come in, must be me i guess

From: lalorock Date: May 31, 2007 at 0:11

From: CLUTCH Date: October 5, 2007 at 22:19
Fantastic cd. Yeah, the vocals are a little different but that was the bands identity. I personally thought the voice was great as were the songs. From start to finish, I let the cd play all the way through. Sadly overlooked and/or misunderstood band that deserved much more....."Is it loud enough"

From: Buitre Date: October 26, 2007 at 8:09
Rock ain't dead is a very catchy song...but in my opinion the rest of the cd isn't worth the money. Maybe it's because I don't like Hamie's voice. To be honest I've bought this Lp in the late '80s and maybe listened to the full lenght 5 times since them.

From: hernanHRM/AOR Date: November 7, 2007 at 22:18

From: hernanHRM/AOR Date: November 7, 2007 at 22:23
junto a cortes como "Sole Survivor, Rock ain't Dead, China Boy, Lost In Love, Northwinds & Crazy" trmendo Disco temas con potencia para disfrutar.. recomendado amigos toda un Classic..9/10

From: Axelinger Date: April 16, 2009 at 18:10
Not a huge fan of ballads, but Dream Time is one of the better ones I've heard in ages.

From: rockhardrock Date: January 15, 2011 at 15:08
when hearing this album, the first thing I remeber was that they sound like def leppard on their 2nd and 3rd album.the only thing I don't like very much by this band are lead vocals. a lot of great melodic stuff here. my faves: rock ain't dead, sole survivor, lost in love, angel and dream time.

From: TheMetalChurch Date: June 11, 2021 at 21:53
Could do without the annoying high pitched Squeals at the end of each vocal line!!!! Super annoying, but other than that, I like most of it...
