one of the most underrated albums in the aor genre.

From: madrid Date: January 6, 2002 at 19:43
Has some good songs but mostly average. Buy one of their early albums .

Q maravilla oir esa voz, y dejarse llevar... The woman in me, es algo impresionante, q pedazo d Balada. Me encantan tb las 2 cantadas en español. una d ellas "La mujer q hay en mi". Grandiosa grupo, y las voces impresionantes d estas 2 hermanas q han echo tanto por el A.O.R mas maravilloso.

This one came out during the grunge years. Eddie Vedder is here on this one. I liked "Will You Be There In The Morning" but I just couldn't listen to their 90's material at all. The Love Mongers? Really? Hmmph. They must be joking!

Up there amongst their best Later releases. Some genuinely fabulous tracks, all featuring Ann Wilson's outstanding vocal performances -'Mutt'Lange's 'Will You Be There','Ring Them Bells'(Featuring Alice In Chains Layne Staley) and the superb Dalbello written 'Black On Black II'. IMMENSE

From: Leslie Date: April 18, 2004 at 22:17
The opening track of the Lisa Dalbello cover is totally amazing! Heart should have recorded a covers album with the same lineup as proven by their deep live catalog. The heaviness on "Rage" is much welcomed and could be used a lot more on this album! The ethereal ambience of "The Woman In Me" is what I come to expect from the Wilson sisters, as this record is not a disappointment by any means!

Just listened to this one for the first time today and I was greatly dissapointed by it. A little to light after the last album, but "Black On Black II" is one of their heaviest songs ever. Of the rest, "Back To Avalon" and "Will You Be There" are good. They seem to be veering back to their 70's sound somewhat here. 6/10

Drivel.

From: Lance Date: December 2, 2004 at 23:32
Hey Propane, Funny we should end up checking out the same albums just hours apart! Heart just started playing on my 6 disc changer and thought I'd check out the reviews. It's not their best by far, but drivel!? Well, we're all entitled to our opinion, right? "In Walks The Night", "My Crazy Head" and the popish "Will You Be There" are great songs and the rest just so-so for me. Hard to top that '85 self-titled comeback album. "Private Audition" IS drivel!

From: Geoff Date: February 12, 2005 at 0:32
Couldn't get into this one, though 'Will you be there (in the morning)' is a lovely commercial hard rock track.

From: Lovedrive Date: June 28, 2007 at 11:36
No es como sus discos de los 80 está claro, pero hay temas la mar de potables. Personalmente me encanta "Voodoo Doll"

Maybe not.

Lovely album..with the typical Ann/Nancy Wilson poppy rock/AOR formula...nice songs such as "Black On Black II","Rage","In Walks The Night","My Crazy Head","Will You Be There(In The Morning)" & "Desire Walk On" will put a in your face surely...btw for south american fans the album got an special release with 2 extra songs sang in spanish("La Mujer Que Hay En Mi"(The Woman In Me)and "Te Quedaras(En La Mañana)"(Will You Be There(In The Morning))...recommended...92/100

From: MadMax Date: January 24, 2012 at 22:35
Best Heart album, no question! Very underrated though. Earlier albums (brigade, bad animals, s/t) are ok but most of the songs gets boring so quickly. Songwriting on this is way better! It relly grows on you!

From: newscandi Date: January 28, 2012 at 20:56
In fact I think every of their "later" albums (80s period) have some fillers. My favourit one is "Bad animals". Maybe I rate "Brigate" still a bit higher than this. Well - this one is really (as said before) not that bad as you may (I did) think on first listen.

From: AORster Date: August 16, 2012 at 6:46
A couple of good songs but I lost interest very soon. YES I am an AORster to the bone!
