After a great AOR debut in the tradition of Orphan or Loverboy ("Bad Boys", 1986), Haywire recorded one for the ladies and called it "Don't Just Stand There". Lightweight pop rock that echoed Glass Tiger or Platinum Blonde. "Black and Blue" has a cheesy sing-song chorus, "Dance Desire" sounds like bad INXS. Can you tell this is my LEAST favorite of the 4 albums Haywire put out? Redeeming track: "Fire".

Im crazy about this one, I sing along with every song. Just true great (a little comercial, yeah, but what da heck) AOR. Great blend between keybord and guitar + Paul´s fine vocals + good songwriting = Pretty catchy great soft melodic rock.

Simply one of the best AOR cd's ever recorded. Easily on par with either BLVD cd. This is what its all about...Big Catchy Hooks with layered keyboards, rockin' guitars with tasty shredding solo's and a vocalist with range and power. Haywire never topped this CD. AOR of the Highest Recommendation. One of the best cd's you will ever own.

Their first was BRILLIANT and this is also good. More poppy AOR than the debut, but still fine canadian stuff !

I liked this even better than the debut - continued with the great melodies - if you enjoyed their debut - you will not be disappointed.

This is more pop rock oriented than the debut. The only song worthwhile is "Fire". 7/10.

"Thinkin' About The Years" was the theme song for my nephew's graduation at Brother Rice High School in St. John's in 1988. SMART LYRICS!!!! I don't think any other high school back in St. John's, NFLD, used that song since. And it's a great CD.

Pure Canadian AOR.It's poppy Rycheage, 'cause every pure AOR song from golden 80s era has something poppy. IT'S AS GOOD AS THE DEBUT ALBUM WAS. This should recommend it enought.

I loved their first much more than this one, but despite needing to skip some tracks here I still enjoy listening to it. Not much different to a more pop-sounding Loverboy or Renegade, this has several excellent tracks. "Hard Reaction" is class AOR, and "Black and Blue" and "Angel" are more poppy but still high quality. Am not sure we needed 2 versions of the awful "Dance Desire", but if you love the above mentioned bands then look up Haywire also. 7.5/10.

I really love the song "dance desire", I can´t get that tune out of my head on the whole day!! The other highlight is "Hard Reaction", which reminds me a little to Harem Scarem . The rest of the album is pretty good as well. 8,5/10.

Ok 74/100 Very soft Candian AOR/POP But far from the classic AOR stuff from CANADA like HAREM SCAREM/HONEYMOON SUITE/HEADPINS/LOVERBOY But if you like soft poppy mainstream radio-frendly high tech AOR MAYBE THAT's your piece of cake !

Ok, I see people claiming that this is too soft and poppy, but to my ears this is nothing less than a great AOR record. Favorite tracks are "Fire", "Angel", "One Heart Affair", "Hard Reaction", "Dance Desire" and the beautiful ballad "Thinkin' About The Years". The guitarwork is a highlight as well. 88/100

This is a very well written and produced AOR album. Not soft rock by any means, but not what you would call melodic rock, either. The songs have a good groove that will keep your foot tappin'. I really dig this kind of stuff. AOR, yes, wimpy, no!! The production is really solid and the vocals aren't poppy or wimpy at all. Nice!

This album along with the Bad Boys debut are killer albums, this one is somehow more mature in sound and attitude and edgier but conserving the Pop/AOR/Rock vibe of the first..."Dance Desire"..what can i say about this song...i just grew up listening to it!..truly to be soon a classic,if it isn't one by now...then you have "One Heart Away","Fire","Hard Reaction"...just songs that will keep u moving your head all over the place!..am i exagerating?..well,get it if you feel like listening to the real 80's hearthanded kind of stuff..if not buy yourself the latest Britney Spears album and be brainwashed!...hahaha!...this one,92/100
