| This gritty, blues-based, punk-attitudinal rock 'n' roll (basically the AC/DC formula thrown in the dirt and stomped on by a pair of motorcycle boots) is truly just about my favorite kind of music. These Canadians, their stupid stage names aside, do itup righteously recalling the likes of Dirty Looks, Jackyl and even some dashes of the late, lamented American Dog in the generally faster temops of most songs. Dylan Villain's vocals, weirdly, recall Marq Torien without the long, drawn-out screams, in addition to the typical "poor man's Brian Johnson" you would expect from this music. Apparently, Dylan lost his voice during the writing and recording of this album, but thanks to a troupe of specialists and a miracle-worker vocal coach, he regained his voice, and sounds exactly like he did on the band's 2015 EP GxDxWxB. Unfortunately, he now thinks he can really "sing," and on "Run Home," he adopts a soft, thin whine that is most definitely not a good fit. Otherwise, it's party time!
