The Wild! return, exclamation point intact, three years after Wild At Heart. Their sound hasn't changed much, and why should it? These guys were always a little more Rose Tattoo than AC/DC, and that continues here with many uptempo songs. Those mnments from the last album where Dylan Villain used this pained and painful, nasal croon are thankofly gone (see the intro of "Six Six Six" and the entirety of "Run Home"), so in that way, the new record is an improvement. The guy is kind of irritating in interviews though, pretending his lyrics are deeper than they appear, and acting all coy when asked to explain, especially with regard to drugs and crime. (He did explain the line about the time he "saw a kid shoot dope in Sault Sainte Marie though.) But then, Axl Rose used to do that a lot, too. |

In any event, the music is good, dirty, degenerate fun. It's familiar in a good way: you'll wonder where you heard chorusesome like "Nothing Good Comes Easy" before. The new drummer matters not a bit. |
