A poor mans Def Leppard. This is none the less a pretty good album by the guys who would form "Kick". Some very fine song writing if you like catchy hard rock. 7.5/10 |

def leppard wannabees, decent album but nothing to shout about. |

The above comments have it pretty right. Very Def Leppard sounding, but not really ever hitting the mark. And yes, indeed these are the guys that would soon become the excellent Kick. Kick are great, this is pretty good AOR... just nothing great, IMO. |

As Geoff said, these guys now by the name Kick. I'm a huge Def Leppard fan and bought the Japanese version (w/1 bonus track) of this cd because of the comparisons that I read about. I think they sound like the Leps when it comes to the background vocals and chorus's but they don't compare to them musically IMO. It's a decent release though. Just not spectacular. |

This is hardly Def Leppard sounding it all! Only the slighest hint of a Leppard influence can be heard, but then if you listen to the XL promo disct THAT is truly a clone of Def Leppard. This is relatively mixed, some good songs but some bad arrangements of them...I'd advise checking out Kick, the Jones brothers latest band which far surpasses any previous effort. |

Somebody's been dabbling in the Def Leppard pool and the result, while not up to the Lep's high standards, is some catchy melodic hard rock with an abundance of hooks and endlessly-layered backing vocals. Unfortunately, what the band couldn't borrow from Def Leppard was their studio budget, so the production sound sort of falls flat on its face, forcing the album to settle for "good" territory rather than "great." Production aside (and it's not that bad, perfectly serviceable), there is some rousing stuff on here, though all heavy edges have been scoured down to AOR smoothness. Bottom line, despite the flaws, it's hard not to enjoy these guys. |

This sounds nothing like DL, you clowns, Grand Design sound like DL, now go listen to Grand Design, then listen to this, and this will sound more like a Toto album then a DL album, GD, now those boys do DL better then DL do DL! |
