Is such a shame we won't ever hear Mark/Marcie on record again, awesome voice. The sound quality was poor but this is just a collection of demos. 'Stranger Among Us' has one of the greatest vocal performances ever, would love to hear some other vocalists try and hit those notes...

AOR MASTERPIECE THIS IS ! No big words folks ,it's true.Maybe the best songwriting (included on a single album), along with a fantastic 'made for AOR' voice.Lack of strong guitar sound is a minus though ,because it makes the style too much westcoast.If the production could 'push' guitars up a bit ,the album would be flawless.No comment about his/her personal life...it's just a petty because such a talent had a lot more to give...BE GOOD TO YOURSELF:BUY THIS CD !

I just cannot ignore the drum machine, but more to the point I cannot ignore the might of Mark Free's voice. A couple of the songs are a bit too lightweight, but the always magnificent 'Someday you'll come running', 'Hard heart to break', 'Never be a next time' and the great title track sort it out. Okay, I'll just admit it! I really dig this CD! Great stuff. Damn drum machine...

The reason Mark Free isnt huge is cos he snipped his nads off and became a woman-most of the known world would not take him/her seriously. A shame because regardless of Marcie's personal issues he/she had/has one hell of a voice.

I think the general consensus on this one is a big thumbs up, and I will certainly not argue with that as there are Some truly fabulous songs on this. My only minor quibble is that it doesn't exactly sound a million dollars, although as TIM(2) states it is only demo's. If this had had the recording budget of the Signal and Unruly Child albums, then i would go so far as to say that this would have come out ontop and I love those two albums with a passion.

Unbelievable performance of some classy songs by our old friends in song, the Randall girls. Wonderfully crafted album, which sounds amazing for a set of enhanced demos. Certainly up their with the best that Mark ever produced. Magic! 10/10!

I never liked this album too much. Maybe it's 'cos I don't get into Signal's Loud & Clear. The other tratemarks of Mark I haven't ever listened to (Unruly Child, King Kobra). Maybe I should give especially the first Unruly Child a chance..?! To this one: I think the last and title track alone makes this worth the buy. Such an AMAZING ballad!! 7,6/10

One of the greatest AOR albums around. Although it sounds (it actualy is) like a bunch of demo's, the songs are superb. Songs like Never Be a Next Time, Hard Heart to Break and Stranger Among Us stand out and are really smooth-going AOR classics. Slow Down the Night is even better (except for the fake drums lol) but The Last Time is defenitly the best song of the album. You can simply feel the emotion surrounding the song. Mark Free won't make any new stuff, but check for King Kobra too.

Someday You'll come Running was sung by Mark Free in the very first place. He was hired to sing that demo, which was written by the amazing AOR songwriters Judith and Robin Randall. The very first version of the song was sung by Mark Free.

One of the best vocalist I've ever heard. I simply love his voice and this album is no exception in that aspect. Some truly amazing songs on the disc and had it not been for the not so great production it would've been among the absolute best melodic rock/AOR albums ever. A little too lightweighted recording with a quite programmed and sterile feel. Great album nonetheless.

I really can't add anything to all of the above praise of this album that hasn't been more eloquently said already, but it's so damn good I had to leave a brief comment as well. Put a full, lush production underneath these songs and this vocalist and....well, guess we'll never know, but I'm very to have this recording at least....Marcie Free's solo album is very good as well IMO, magnificent recording artist.....Jeff.

This is easily one of the best AOR records I have ever heard. Mark Free has such an amazing, powerful voice. I absolutely LOVE this album. The only low point, if you could even call it that, is 'High Life,' which I just never got into. Still a pretty killer track, though.

Yeah this album roars like a wild lion!...Mark (now Marcie) is one of the best melodic rock /AOR singers around and that's unquestionable..this Long Way From Love is amazing,'Someday You'll Come Running To Me' is a classic song,'Stranger Among Us','The Lst Time' among others are quality top notch tracks and about the especial bonus disc is an excellent option to hear him singing like an angel..songs from Signal,Unruly Child and King Kobra are played here live(from track 1 to 10 is a live concert)then the last 6 tracks are studio ones which are just fantastic especial mention in 'State Of Love' that is a duet song with Diana DeWitt from Venus And Mars fame..an album to grab like if it was gold!.95/100

Yeah Geoff, Damn Drum machine! but my 'little' complaint is about guitar solos, then this one is a Marvelous AOR album from start to finish. My favorite songs are: 'Never Be a Next Time' and 'State of Love' perfect AOR! 'Smokes and Mirrors' is my favorite song from CD2. Awesome voice Mark Free! 9.7/10

Just one of the Best Voices in Rock! Mark/Marcie Free is my American favourite singer along with Tony Harnell, this album is great from start to finish (The best is the 1998´s 2cd version from Frontiers). Great Vocals, Great Songs....with a little more production this album deserves 100 rating. Uno de mis cantantes favoritos desde King Kobra, pasando por Arrival, Signal, Sus Demos y Unruly Child también gran trabajo haciendo coros con Alannah Myles y Bobby Kimball. This still has Mark Free's great voice but the songs and style lack the power of Signal and Unruly Child. I can't understand why so many were against Michael Bolton's Soul Provider being on here when this is actually a lot weaker I think. The only song I can take away from this is Coming Back For More as the rest is quite forgettable. If you like Mark Free becoming a bad Michael Bolton contemporary, get it.

This is a collection of demos that Mark recorded in the late 80's combined with a weak production. Mark sings really well but the production paled the songs a bit. 'High Life' sounds totally displaced and the drum sound is awful. In fact, the drum machine throughout the album is painful. 'Someday' is a song written by some of his buddies and then recorded by FM and then Mark. Disc #2 is his live show recorded in Manchester, England. The setlist and sound differs from the bootleg Dvd. Also, a song is missing: 'Arms of a Stranger'.

I thought this was an awesome album back 12 yrs ago when I was a teenager. But listening to it now I still think Mark Free is an fantastic singer but the album is far from being perfect. Production is awful (just listen to the drum machine troughout the album... ugh!) and it turns some songs really annoying to the ears (High Life, Hard Heart to Break). With a better production and better choice of demos (yes, these are demos that Mark recorded in the late 80's) the album could have been huge.

Mark Free sings amazingly well in the live album but the band can't recreate the magic of the studio albums due the lack of keyboards and decent backing vocals. Just listen carefully to the souless live version of Iron Eagle.
