Very rare item this one but the best cd from this group ever. Especially the killer guitarist MATTIAS IA EKLUND. I think there's more quality behind this songs and they sound much better than the prior releases.A MUST FOR A SCANROCK FANATIC!!! Skide fedt!!!!!!!!Lead guitarist can now be found in FREAK KITCHEN and Bjarne Holm in MERCYFUL FATE. The vocalist latest appeared on the YNGWIE MALMSTEEN LIVE 1999 cd

Awesome cd. Miganggon,if you like this, check out Freak Kitchen-'appetizer'.Same dude on guitar. They came out with 2 others that went to more alternative sound which I think is crap, but everybody has their tastes.Get Appetizer though, great cd.

Yeah, this CD is awesome. And to all of you whp admire Mr Eklundh guitar playing, check out his own band he formed in 1992 (after leaving Fate) FREAK KITCHEN. More info at the official site www.freakkitchen.com or at the fan site http://come.to/freakkitchen. And did I say Eklundh only was 19 years of age recording the Fate album? Pretty amazing! Cheers, Patrik Ek

Couldn't agree more..really awesome shredding...The album was recorded in my hometown...Proud to live here! HAHA...They supported Pretty Maids on their Jump The Gun tour in 90. This album was the last Fate album and can't be considered as AOR...more like a blend between Hardrock and melodic heavy rock with great and catchy melodies and of course those crazy over-the-top solos. Amazing!!! Unconventional for a Danish band...Where's a review of their debut? Also a great album...

From: Federico Date: May 20, 2003 at 22:23
This album is a master piece. I'll keep on spin it since one year, It's always a pleasure. My favorite song is one by one. It's a shame that I've to download it, It's very difficult to find the original. This band was underrated, they deserve the same success of band like Europe and Bon Jovi.

Eklundh is GOD on a guitar. This is one of the best hard rock albums Ive ever heard.

From: T-Bone Date: April 30, 2004 at 14:47
Mattias Eklundh is a good friend of my friend Krister Pihl. Krister moved to Minnesota about 10 years ago and also played with the band Cain's Alibi which is also on this site. He speaks of Mattias often and the 'mischief' they tend to get into when he goes back to visit. I never realized that Mattias did anything other than with Freak Kitchen. I'll have to get this cd.

From: Great Dane Date: April 30, 2004 at 15:26
T-Bone. trust me. You want this cd. He does some of the best playing Ive ever heard. Im Not sure but I think Eklundh played ina band called Frozen Eyes before this. Can anyone confirm this.?? I think they released 1 cd.

One of my favourite CDs of all time. Not a thing wrong with this one at all - but there never was with Fate releases. Awesome songs, riffs and lyrics. 'You're the best(Money can buy' is melodic perfection,'Walk on fire' is just bliss,'Freedom' is a great ballad, 'Won't let you down' is again melodic perfection, 'Larry' and 'Surgeon in love' are two of the best - hilarious and PERFECT melodic hard rock, as is 'One by one'. One of the best albums ever. 9.5/10

From: r.s.-rocks Date: September 1, 2004 at 19:06
A great CD. The Band is back together for a few concerts and a new Album. They did a great gig in munich, germany in July- and I missed it! Shit!

From: ashen_light Date: September 12, 2004 at 15:42
My God!!! I will make a frame of gold to put this CD in!! Probably the best AOR album in history! It has everything:intriguing melodies, excellent vocals, great lyrics, engaging choruses! The guitar work could hardly be better. I have never heard any other guitar technique in my entire life that would sound remotely close to this masterpiece! Each and every song is a hit and believe me-this CD is worth much more than it costs on EBAY.

really great album guitar vocal and more ... best album i ever listen nowa days ultrasuper

From: TIM (2) Date: March 14, 2005 at 7:05
Being more of a fan of AOR than hard rock I kinda always preferred "Matter of Attitude" to this. Awesome guitar work though, and a much better consistency to the songs than "Cruisin'..." had. And what a huge sound. Similar to ZERO and EMERGENCY (recent re-issues also) although not quite as good as these IMHO, and I really strongly dislike the vocals on this disc immensely. "Wont let you Down" and "One by One" take the song awards on here. 8/10.

Along with 'Matter Of Attitude' Fate have releases two of THE Scandi rock albums of all time. This one has a tougher sound (and a hell of a lot better production) tha 'MOA', but besides the strong material what stands out on this one is the Phenomenal Guitar of Mattias Eklundh -has to be heard to be believed in places, absolutely F*$in' brilliant. Faves on this is the ballad 'Freedom' and the short instrumental 'Whalesong'(WOW), although all of them hit the spot.Just re-issued with 2 bonus tracks

From: Wotty Date: April 1, 2005 at 13:45
I picked up the re-issue of this and was pleasantly surprised.Being a big fan of "Attitude"and it's key driven tracks, this is a near flip-side with it leaning more to the fine guitar work.A good addition to any collection with two bonus tracks thrown in for good measure...Jez,good call !!!!

From: Chris Date: April 19, 2005 at 18:53
This is a great record... but try to forget the songs and concentrate only on the solos??? WHAT IS THAT? This guitar player is just.... WOW... no words I just can say HE is one of the best in the world!!! A great record, great songs and an amazing guitar player 100%

From: Chris Date: April 28, 2005 at 13:12
This is a pretty good AOR release, but certainly not as good as everyone is making it out to be. I believe that vocalist Per Henriksen's best work was done on the CRYSTAL KNIGHT - "Crystal Knight" mega-rare Metal release from 1985. Not that he's bad here at all; I'm just not used to hearing him in an AOR band like this. There is no denying Mattias Eklundh's shredding here though - in my opinion his guitar work saved this release. My main problem with this release is that I didn't find the songs

From: JF Date: August 17, 2005 at 21:32
Excelente guitarrista sin lugar a dudas. Sin embargo para mi gusto el cantante no me agrada para nada y si no fuera por los masivos coros en algunas canciones... . Mis favoritas la 1,3 y la 4.

From: Erik Date: August 26, 2005 at 4:38

A pretty good release, if it wasn't for the quite annoying vocalist and his accent. The big attraction of this disc is of course IA's guitar playing. He's absolutely phenomenal....even if it sometimes feels like his overplaying a bit just to show how immensely talented he is. Some good songs.

Don't waste your money on Fate, they are way overrated! This is just average

From: BDrums1971 Date: August 15, 2010 at 17:09
I'm definitely in the minority here, but I find the guitar solo to be way indulgent. At times, they just don't fit the song, and seem way over the top. Yeah, yeah, so the guy can play and do some cool tricks, but I am not all that impressed. I would much rather hear a Dann Huff or Doug Aldrich solo than this overblown "look at what I can do" stuff. He's good, but it doesn't really do it for me. As far as the music, I really like this cd. Except for the solos, very enjoyable.

From: andi Date: January 1, 2011 at 9:56
THE GENIUS OF THIS ALBUM IS SO BRILLIANT IS NOT INTENDED TO THE GUITAR BUT THE ART AS THE GUITAR IS SET!

Very solid album!!!..got the re-edition of it with 2 B/T's...this one contains rocky songs but with some catchy tracks as well..."Gotta Have It All","You're The Best(Money Can Buy)","Walk On Fire","Larry","Surgeon In Love","Think For Yourself" & "Don't Do Drugs"(B/T) are my faves...enjoyable stuff...86/100

excellent commercial hard rock music by FATE !the hooks are there, the guitar work is fine and the music is flawless!all the songs have this commercial edge that i so love and i highlu recommend this tio everybody!"walk on fire " is the hit and it worths playin it loud!!!!

From: Ydol eM Date: April 7, 2014 at 13:19
Really hard to get at that time being. I've just got the remastered MTM's version and that's pity because I always prefer the original sound and atmosphere/spirit of an album. Furthemore sometimes less is more, I mean all those bonus tracks which can often leave a strange (after)taste of the whole album. Actually these are the sole "loopholes" for me here. The rest is kick-ass arena hard rock in vein of earlier Bon Jovi, 220 Volt or Babylon A.D. IMO the best Fate ever. 90/100.
