This is a very, very good disc. Yes, it has a distinct modern sound mixed with traditional AOL/hard rock elements. Josh and Johnny have really worked hard to create some fantastic harmonizing parts with the guitar and vocals. I know it's not a 'traditional' Hardline disc but in a day and age when a ton of stuff sounds the same, this is a great change while still having a kick to it. I give it a 90/100 and play it often.

I just received my disc from NEH yesterday and had only one listen so far. & I like what I've heard. No it is not a fast paced rocker by anymeans but the disc is well presented with great vocals and guitars. The sound quality is top notch. Any past Hardline fan will love this release as, so will any lover of MHR 87/100

From: Swazi Date: May 13, 2009 at 5:00
I can only agree to what has been said above. Great release !!

From: rick kerch vzla Date: May 24, 2009 at 17:43
Great album indeed..."Bittersweet" (beautiful ballad)...one nice come back...completely in agreement with Axe Slinger.90/100

From: BIG-TIME Date: June 4, 2009 at 4:38
Moden, Moden, Moden, that's it complete load of new age rubbish, Johnny is good but the rest sucks. I have no idea what the previous comments are on about, and no not any hardline fan of old will love this I love the orginal, this to the original is like Winger IV to the first two albums crap. To buy this album you have to be def, any true fan of this site will hate it, excluding the people are more into new age rock than what has left us so long ago. You can go and buy anything! like this is the shops today... why would you want to? the whole point is to find and love AOR, hard rock etc etc not new age rock ffs... KEEP ROCKIN ALL!!!

From: wotty Date: June 5, 2009 at 7:28
I have to agree with the majority who've commented on this cd,I think it's a solid AOR/MHR disc, and don't agree with BIG TIME at all.

From: erik Date: June 6, 2009 at 10:51
well as always the truth lies somewhere in the middle. This sure as hell aint no Hardline they way we used to get to know and love them. Compared to the modern music nowadays its ok but nothing outstanding. Fans of Hardline old school will detest it. I didnot get into this album at all. Not my cup of tea and even dare say it doesnot belong here on HH. Its truly new age rock......pity

From: sluss528 Date: June 6, 2009 at 17:52
new age rock? i don't thank so!!!! get a grip ,this is just a good rock cd. there is a little modern sound but nothing that takes away from the great sound of this cd! i can give this an 85/100.

I gotta wonder if BIG-TIME and erik are listening to the same disc I am... personally I think it's a great comeback CD. It doesn't measure up to the debut, but then again what possibly could? As to "Doesn't belong here on HH"... Uhh, right. WTF?

From: YNGWIEVIKING Date: June 7, 2009 at 5:39
Great album 82/100 MODERN AMERICAN AOR at it's best ! Great guitars and splendid vocals ! Some very good tracks in a very cotemporary way ! It means that they don't try to rewrite the past or to place the nostalgia before everything else ! The guitars of mr RAMOS are all over the places and J.GIOELI can show his fantastic range and abilities to sing in many style ! "voices" even remind me of mighty ARK "burn the sun" era ! Open minded AOR fans that's for you !

From: erik Date: June 7, 2009 at 15:37
Yep same album Dan Like i wrote this stands far away from their brilliant debut album, one of my all time top 10 albums still, and shouldnot be compared. Modern AOR is just not for me and i had hoped not for HH either . Wont hold it against you tho Dan The todays melodic rock i live and breathe for and love are bands like Rockarma, Action, Covered Call, Faith Circus, Goodbye Thrill, Marcello Vestry, H.E.A.T. So maybe now you can understand me not liking the Hardline disc

From: GlenRavine Date: June 8, 2009 at 18:55
Good old rock music at its best - great music - play it loud. Def. worth checking out - like I always say - if you liked their other stuff - no reason why you won't like this.

From: opec Date: June 10, 2009 at 13:46
boring

From: z4roxx Date: July 3, 2009 at 12:41
This is a Ramos/Gioeli album, not Hardline disc.If I rate it as an Hardline disc I say 0/10,as Ramos album I give it 8/10 because the first half songs is excellent, the second part is a little boring with some fillers.I think Johnny Gioli has the Hardline name's rights because it's ridiculous an album with only one member. For me Hardline are Dean Castronovo,Neil Schon and the Gioeli's guitarist brother.

From: erik Date: July 7, 2009 at 12:32
very well said Andrea

From: DOUG Date: July 9, 2009 at 10:42
GOOD NEW RELEASE FROM HARDLINE, NOT AS GOOD AS "DOUBLE ECLIPSE" BUT SURE BETTER THAN THEIR WORST EFFORT HARDLINEII. IT CONTAINS SOME STRONG MOMENTS WITH VERY GOOD RIFFS,HOOKS,PASSIONED VOCALS.SURE ITS GONNA BE ONE OF THE BEST ALBUMS THIS YEAR.

From: DOUG Date: July 9, 2009 at 10:43
.....AND "BEFORE THIS" IS SIMPLY PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From: z4roxx Date: July 10, 2009 at 12:08
Old band photo is ridiculous now,and it's painful that for a market business this is an Hardline cd.Ramos is a great talent but also a big fox ahahahah!

From: BIG-TIME Date: January 27, 2010 at 12:00
I still stand by what I said, the third track sounds like Keane, it's not Double Eclipes yeah they have to move with the time but not the way this album went. Johnny is still great but the songs are nothing like the first album so how can it be AOR/Hard rock it's moden rock...KEEP ROCKIN ALL!!!

From: Distance Date: February 12, 2010 at 8:43
Well i have just got this, its not bad at all.. But Track 9 (Before this) is fantastic AOR/Radio bliss and track 4 (pieces of puzzles) is not far behind.!

From: Nick C Date: March 28, 2010 at 17:06
I thought this was one of the better releases of last year, with some great though not necessarily immediate hooks, I think it takes a few plays before they start to sink in. But then I often find that albums that take a few extra spins to appreciate them many times have a greater longevity. Anyway imho a top album.

From: cmcasper Date: October 2, 2010 at 14:01
Wow, I'm surprised at the boring comments, and the other negative posts. I got this album the day it was released, and I have not gone more than a week since without listening to it. Whether you think it's Hardline or not, this is an amazing album from start to finish! I love it!

From: rocksoul Date: December 10, 2010 at 15:39
different from the first, the only one....gioeli is for me a good singer, not at the top but in double eclipse had a great voice, then....there was also neil schon, this is make a lot. this realease is soft, I like but sometimes could be boring

From: cmcasper Date: December 11, 2010 at 7:55
We really need to get a translator in here.........Good Lord! "This is make a lot. this realease is soft, I like but sometimes could be boring" My translation: This album has been made before and it is soft. I like the album, but sometimes people think I'm boring!

From: cmcasper Date: December 11, 2010 at 7:58
And you people who feel this CD doesn't belong here at HH should seriously consider the fact that maybe it's you who doesn't belong. If you love the previous Hardline releases like I do, then it's virtually impossible to hate this album as much as some of you say you do.

From: 123charpenay Date: July 29, 2015 at 13:59
modern a o r not very melodic.not my cup of tea.absoluty nothing in common with their extraordinary debut album "double eclipse" and their last exceptional effort "danger zone".here hardline loose have loosing his soul.

From: DonDef88PL Date: November 18, 2023 at 8:09
I'm info the majority of songs Hardline Has ever released although I don't Luke seconda album. Leaving the end open is od course never sound but with some beautiful ballada Luke Bittersweet and rockers like Voices which introduces this album very lively. My rating is 85/100.
