|Great melodic rock. Perfect production. The singer is awesome. A must have!!
||Date: April 14, 2001 at 17:22|
|This is one of the best projects that Neil SChon has ever been involved with. Everything here is perfection! At the same time there's NOT too much polish on the production! Great batch of musicians involved here, Deen Castronovo IS an animal, those of you that caught this tour know what I mean. This is a must have to fans of Journey or AOR, you won't be disappointed! This is a mid-line priced disc in the states, for about $10.00. Not a bad price. 9.5 on this one.

|truly a classic. comes close to perfection. heard they gonna record a second album without neal. check out alex rudi pell cos the hardline vocalist sings on his new album. wasnt this band used to call brunette??
||Date: October 13, 2001 at 11:48|
|The song 'Hot Cherie' is originaly sung by Streetheart. That version is much different than Hardline version, it's a 80's anthem with the finest Hard Rock instrumental... A big prove that Hardline is Sleaze Glam!
||Date: October 28, 2001 at 3:20|
|Really Gooooddddd, if you like this Album, you must heard the Album Time to Burn of GIANT!!! GREAT TOO!!!

|One of the best singers out there!
||Date: February 8, 2002 at 5:07|
|An awesome album ! Woaw, Neal Schon smokes all over this disc - he's rocking Why did the band choose to leave that FANTASTIC track called 'LOVE LEADS THE WAY' only on the japanese release... 10 /10
||Date: February 17, 2002 at 15:24|
|Great CD! Sounds a lot like XYZ.
||Date: March 6, 2002 at 23:14|
|There new Album should be out in late April. Gioeli at the helm on vocals. Without Neal Schon though. It will still rock though anything That Gioeli is involved in rocks. Just listen to Axel Rudi Pell and Sons of Angels, when he is singing every song has that awesome rock sound.

|i've just fallen in love with the voice of johnny gioeli. i personally think he has the voice of God, he's truely talented and has somthing special. he's probably become my biggest insparation and influence, he's so unique, he's deffo my favorite vocalist of all time, he just kicks my ass. as for hardline, yeah they are an incredible band, strong song writers and very talented musicians, cant wait for new material...rock on guys!!!
||Date: March 24, 2002 at 17:14|
|It's not 'Sleaze Glam' for sure, but it's surely an (almost) perfect Melodic Rock album. Funny, I didn't like it that much when I bought the album back in 1992, but today it's a must for me. Neal is awesome when he's in control, just like what he did on this album!!! Killer tracks: ALL. Only songs 7 & 8 didn't do much for me. I don't mind if they use the great Jap bonus instead these...
||Date: March 25, 2002 at 16:24|
|Best!! Lucky japs Their bonus track Love Leads The Way could sweep away all the hits. You go crazy, that' for sure!
||Date: April 2, 2002 at 13:56|
|'Double Eclipse' more than qualifies as one of the top twenty most solid cd releases of all-time in my collection. If you are a fan of good, fun hard rock (there is really no glam in Hardline) and you do not already own 'Double Eclipse'--well, you can tell by the overwhelming enthusiastic response on H. Harmonies--you have found your cd. My only complaint on 'DE' relates to the lyric writing and I have none on the music--not a whole lot of creativity. Almost every song is about a chick! Dick up.
||Date: April 5, 2002 at 9:04|
|Any song in some place in the world that's better than Hot Cherie?
||Date: April 5, 2002 at 15:33|
|Yeah, I agree. 'Hot Cherie' may not have the biggest or baddest guitar solo on 'Double Eclipse' (actually it is probably the SHORTEST), but that song kicks total ass. The chorus is one of the strongest I have ever heard. It is nice to see that so many of us can agree on at least ONE thing.
||Date: April 8, 2002 at 19:50|
|Hardline...what can I say? My cd is wearing out from overplaying! This guy has the voice of an angel and the songs are truly incredible. I'm off now to play my cd again...!
||Date: April 12, 2002 at 12:08|
|Yes, Johnny has a great voice but 'the oice of an angel'? If angels sounded like that, I would freak the hell out if I heard one! I would rather hear an angel with a soft feminine voice......ohhhhh, I'm going to have a wet dream tonight. Still, I will always call Steelheart's vocalist a better singer than Gioleli even though I like them both.
|From: NUNO (HOOLYWOOD
||Date: April 24, 2002 at 12:30|
| Great album! One of the best of all times. Jonhny Gioeli is the best vocal ever!!!!!
||Date: April 25, 2002 at 9:40|
|Nuno. I don't think you have any idea what you are talking about. Now, I am not trying to anger you or stir up trouble or anything but..... What the heck is wrong with you!??!?!!!! Listen to old Mikey on Steelheart. He is THE singing rock and roll god of all-time. You might want to dig up those old cds. I will give J. Gioeli his credit, but I will NEVER even think about calling him the best vocalist of all-time. Never.
||Date: May 2, 2002 at 9:07|
|johnnys voice really suits here and I love the feelings here. Jus tlisten to Rhythm from a red car, takin me down, my abs. fave HOT CHERIE and the perfect ballad Ill be there!!!! GREAT CD!!!!!!!!!!
||Date: May 16, 2002 at 10:43|
|awesome album, truly a must have. as noted above, fine hard rock with no nonsense. All the tracks are winners, just like you if you buy this album.
||Date: May 16, 2002 at 19:25|
|Although I listen to Hot Cherie, I'll Be There, and Rhythm From A Red Car over and over, I do not think this album is the best ever. There are no bad tracks, but I find some more average than others. Talent alone does not guarantee that each track will be stellar. Johnny is a great vocalist, but there are several I'd prefer to hear. As HG said, these guys do sound similar to XYZ.
||Date: May 16, 2002 at 19:31|
|I'd give it a 9.5 overall.

|A long while back I downloaded the song Hot Cherie off napster by accident because I thought it was a Fastway song. What a great mistake! After I found out who actually sang it I was able to find the CD at a pawn shop and couldn't believe what I heard. If I could have one album on a desert island THIS would be it! Dr. Love is my all time favorite song--Just crank it in the car and you'll know why. Just can't stop listening to this CD! Truly a masterpiece!
||Date: May 18, 2002 at 4:02|
|Hey Blue Tequila, If you like Hardline alot, check out the band Steelhouse Lane also. They also did the song Dr. Love on their Midnight Blue cd. http://www.steelhouselane.com/music.htm

|A friend of mine once told me:'I've seen a video from a band called Hardline,if that song was permormed by Bon Jovi would sell millions of records!!!'The song was Hot Cherie of course and I think it's one of the best hard rock songs ever(even if a cover),in the kind of Skid Row's 18 and life and Dokken's Dream warriors.The entire album is really incredible, maybe the 3 ballads too much similar one to another(also Only a night demo is!!!)However,I,m looking forward to listening to Hardline II
||Date: May 29, 2002 at 4:08|
|I don't even want to think of Bon Jovi doing anything on this cd. It is perfect in every way and doesn't need to be fucked with!! This may have not sold millions, but still has a true hardcore fanbase the same.
||Date: May 29, 2002 at 4:10|
|Blue Tequila, look for the Japanese bonus track somewhere on the net also. It's called Love Leads The Way. It should have been on the cd to begin with. Damn...I'm going to have to move to Japan to get all these bonus tracks. Why are they so special?
||Date: June 4, 2002 at 16:45|
|Hey Reno,I listened to Steelhouse Lane ballad 'All I believe in',I think it's the best ballad in the last 10 years!anyway,I didn't mean to criticize Double Eclipse,I just wanted to say that it deserved a more extended audience(maybe in the 80's it was possible,not in '92)I AM part of the true hardcore fanbase,don't worry! As for'love leads the way',the song seems a Whitasnake cover 'cause Johnny sings very 'Coverdale-like'!maybe that's the reason why is a bonus track,I guess...
||Date: June 4, 2002 at 18:37|
|Hey Paolo, check out the Steelhouse Lane song If Love Should Go. It's a bonus track from their Slaves of the New World cd.
||Date: June 5, 2002 at 14:08|
|I agree with the others rewiewers, this cd is very good. My favs are Hot cherie and Everything. I think that Steelhouse lane are even better than Hardline. My favourite Steelhouse's ballad is Where are you now. About If love should go, I had to buy a compilation from MTM for that song( I didn't have internet yet that time), not bad but not as good as the others masterpieces from S. Lane. But Where are they now?
||Date: June 6, 2002 at 15:29|
|I agree with you,Federico(writing in italian maybe I could explain better what I mean to say,but the rest of the world wouln't understand!!!)that song is good,but not a masterpiece. As for Double Eclipse,I see that you aren't enthusiastic about it,for me the record is simply perfect,don't you think so?If SL are better,their cd is surely worth buying!!!
||Date: June 7, 2002 at 10:53|
|Hey Paolo. I think that this is a very good album, Personally I prefere Steelhouse Lane. I give 10 to S.L. and 9 to Hardline. I think you are waiting like me for San Gennaro Frontiers putting out the new one.
||Date: June 8, 2002 at 15:23|
|Hey Frederico and Paolo, go look up the band Streets on this site and then go download some of the songs from Audiogalaxy. This was Mike Slammer's and Steve Walsh's(Kansas) band before Steelhouse Lane. It's from 84-85 or so, but I'm sure you'll like them. They sound like a heavier version of Survivor. They had another self titled album out before that one too, but it's not listed here. You'll have to go look it up on www.cddb.com under the artist name Streets. If Love Should Go is on that one.

|Kim,the new record from Hardline will be out on August/September and will be named Hardline II!!!about Giant,I already know them well!!!I think'I'll see you in my dreams' is the best song of all times,do you know a better example of pomp-aor???
||Date: July 21, 2002 at 7:28|
|I don't get the XYZ comparison. You gotta love Hardline and all even if it has been just one album so far, but XYZ has a lead singer that make ol' Johnny sound like ground-up dog shit. Yeah, he's that good. XYZ tears this stuff to shreds. Can't wait for their next album now that the band has reformed.

|Has anyone heard Brunette, Johnny's old group? I occasionally see the demos on Ebay.
||Date: July 31, 2002 at 12:12|
|WOW!!! People here love this disc. I have this disc and after reading these reviews I checked it out again after many years and while a good melodic rock album there's still quite a few albums of this musical genre I'd recommend over this one. Good but not mind-blowing. I remeber working at a record store at the time and one of my co-workers who didn't dig this stuff played the crap out of this cd & loved it so that might be the only recomendation you need!!
||Date: July 31, 2002 at 15:56|
|I agree Tony. I like this one, but there are other albums which I think are better. I think too many people are looking at names. I love several songs from these guys, but there are a few which seem average. If someone likes the whole thing though, more power to you.

| I have the Brunette cd and it's nothing special....As for Hardline...GET the Jap version that has the bonus song 'Love Leads The Way' on it...Because it is easily their best tune and in my opinion it is one of the best power ballads out there today....The entire cd is good but if you don't get the Jap version then you are missing out big time on their Best song.
||Date: September 6, 2002 at 1:47|
|Successful album but there is still something missing. Maybe, if it was released in 1987 there would be more repercussions. It seems as if the album has never been released and this band never happened. They deserve more popularity. I remember 'Can't Find My Way' and 'I'll be There' from a movie. Which one was that? +: Tracks 2, 5, 10, 11 and sure 'Hotttt Cherry'!!!! -: So simple cover Good:

|Another top notch production with Neal Schon's involvement.Check out the new release(Hardline II).old fans will dig this but I doubt it'llconvert any new ones.Josh Ramos tries to fill the very big shoes left behind by Neal Schon and does a decent job but I could only imagine what it would've been like with the master at the helm.

|Good stuff, I hear. 'Hot CHerie' always makes me think o fthis cute friend of my aunt's named Cherie. As for the voice of an angel, that would hav e to go to the girl who sings on certain Iced Earth songs like 'Phantom Opera Ghost.'

|Why wasn't Hardline II released here in the states?? What is the deal? They had to go out a get an Italian record label for their new album? Heard the songs and they're all great...too bad it'll probably only move a couple thousand copies at most due to it's (un)availability here.

| Double Eclipse smokes! if you're a real hard rock/heavy metal fan then this albums ' definetly for you. Hardline deserve more recognition then they got. If you get a chance to snag a copy,you won't be disappointed.With tracks like 'dr.love','rhythm from a red car','takin' me down' and 'hot cherie'(just to name a few), you'll hear how 'Hardline' crank it out!

||Date: April 29, 2003 at 10:07|
|Alright Freddy De Keyze, give me 5 then
||Date: April 29, 2003 at 18:27|
|Yeah, I don't think it's perfect either. It's got some good tunes but it does have filler in my opinion. I think most people are just awestruck by who is in the band, who produced it, and the money spent on production. Hardline should have started off with the Japanese bonus track instead of the song 'Life's A Bitch.' I take my previous rating back. I give it a 8.5. There are a few tunes on here which I think are killer but there is filler also.
||Date: May 5, 2003 at 10:52|

|Pure hard rock of 80's and one of the best hard rock albums,Double Eclipse kicks ass...Gioeli,maybe,is the ultimate Hard Rock vocalist(J.S.Soto and Coverdale are perfect too)and is doing a great job here..Neal Schon,Journey's guitarist,is just perfect and he gives to the album something different...Stong cuts are: Life's a bitch,Hot Cherie(anthem),everything(anthem),love leads the way(japan release only)-(anthem),Rhythm from a red car(anthem),Takin' me down,In The hands of time..10/10
||Date: August 1, 2003 at 16:43|

|One of the most consistent hard rock releases. Schon is a genius for getting Castronovo on drums for Journey as he's a friggin' monster. Of course, this album being on MCA doomed this band to one album like so many other talented hard rock bands on that label at the time. Jerkoffs. I'm stunned that label is still around.
||Date: September 1, 2003 at 6:07|
|Really good record, absolutely. This is like Firehouse in their first album. I got this album just a few months ago and songs like Rhythm From A Red Car, Hot Cherie and Everything are truly one of my favourites at the time. Highly recommended to YOU!
||Date: September 15, 2003 at 18:37|
|When you have this many people giving positive reslults you know you have a classic. This is one of those discs that you never tire of (like Giant 'Time to burn' and Dare 'Blood from Stone'). The only criminal act is the missing of 'Love leads the Way' as Patrick mentioned. IMO Love leads the way is better than every other track from this album - it's one of the best songs i've ever heard.

|To: Hollywood who stated that: 'The song 'Hot Cherie' is originaly sung by Streetheart.' Not sure where arrived at that nonsense, but you're probably confusing it with Steelheart's 'Everybody Loves Eileen'. |I think what helps make this record so special is that it came out in an AOR-unfriendly time (early 90's). Very little music of this genre was available at the time, and this record is EXTREMELY GOOD, so it stood out even more. Kudos to Neal and the boys for producing such an awesome record of straight-ahead, infectious rock and roll that is heavy on guitar. It delivers time and time again!! This and 'Groovus Maximus' from Electric Boys ruled my cd player for months.

|I just don't understand the hype with this album. Maybe, as was the case with Bad English, everything Neal Schon does is called a classic after Journey. 'Hot Cherie' is fantastic, and the album is pretty consistent, just not the classic it is called. 7/10
||Date: June 13, 2004 at 11:33|
|Sorry to differ with above but this album is a classic 10/10. Excellent production, superb playing and not a duff track insight. This album was one of the releases of the time and still holds up very well today. compare 900f the drivel released these days with this album and it wipes the floor with 'em.

||Date: July 17, 2004 at 1:55|
|This has the sound and the players for the making of a classic. I believe it falls a bit short. It is excellent all around with the exception of 'Everything' which I consistently skip over. 'Life's A Bitch', 'Dr. Love', 'Takin' Me Down', and the aforementioned 'Hot Cherie' are excellent hard rock. 'Change Of Heart' and 'In The Hands Of Time' are classy ballads which should have been huge if it was 1987. If you don't have this, I suggest you hit eBay and pick it up for your collection.

|For me this falls some way short of a classic. It's very good, and has that big melodic rock sound similar to GIANT, but for me it doesn't quite match the first 2 GIANT albums. 'Rhythm from a Red Car' is a bit of a filler, as is 'Bad Taste', but the performances more than make up for a few filler tracks. Great vocals, and I actually really like 'Everything', and 'Dr Love' is better than the Steelhouse Lane version. Not quite classic for me, but still quality stuff. 8/10.
||Date: July 21, 2004 at 6:47|
|Something to get very excited about!!!!, Hardline are already working on their 3rd album called 'Just Add Water', and what's more Joey say's it's gonna sound the same as the debut! And from all reports it KICKS ARSE!!

|Great song - Rhythm From a Red Car, este cd é brutal, grandes malhas (portugal)
||Date: August 22, 2004 at 5:35|
|This is a great CD! 'Rhythm from a red car' is a delicious piece of melodic hard rock, 'Everything' also is, and my favourite off the album, 'Hot cherie' is equal with that and also possibly my fave, 'Can't find my way' is a great ballad, and tracks like 'Takin' me down' are great pieces of hard rock. Maybe not as highly regarded by me as the massive hype it gets, but either way it's a f*cking great melodic hard rock album!!!
||Date: September 10, 2004 at 3:00|
|'Hot Cherie' is one of my favorite tunes of all time. It's got that magical feel only a song perfectly executed can achieve, when all the elements of the songwriting come together flawlessly. This album is about half full of filler though, but it does contain some very good songs. I personally like Life's A Bitch a lot, and Can't Find My Way is a good ballad. Other highlights are Everything and Change Of Heart. 7/10
||Date: September 11, 2004 at 1:48|
|This one is by far a classic. If it is not in your collection, your collection is incomplete. I still listen to this album weekly. Quite a gem, not a bad song on it. Neil Schon and Johnny Gioelli make this album. Classic. Classic. Classic. A MUST for everyone's collection.

|I have to say that I find this WAY overrated. Its not as good as the rating.
||Date: February 3, 2005 at 4:57|
|Hey Muddley your entitled to your own opinion ofcourse. Thats cool but i doubt if people take comments like yours serious. Overrated ? Man what planet are you from ? Get real !
||Date: February 4, 2005 at 0:56|
|Hi Erik. Well its a matter of taste I guess. Ive just given it a spin again and really listened to it. I think that 7 tracks are really good.BUT 5 are average or below average. Again its a matter of taste, and I am for real. People can think what they want, I dont really care. I dont like the music because the majority does, I like it because I like it.
||Date: February 4, 2005 at 1:26|
|Thats cool Muddley. Ofcourse you must never follow a hype. But i just think this is no hype its just an excellent idea. And if you like 7 out 12 songs well i guess you must like it then also
||Date: February 4, 2005 at 1:40|
|Hey Erik. Never said I didnt like it. I just think its overrated. And if I like 7 out of 12 tracks, I kinda think the album is above average. I'd say 7.5/10. Well again its a matter of opinion.
||Date: February 4, 2005 at 5:33|
|Ok Muddley i can live with your 7.5/10
||Date: February 4, 2005 at 22:28|
|I agree with Erik- Muddley is WAY OFF with his comments. Not sure if he has heard this classic. How could you could call this album overrated? This is easily one of the best albums recorded in 1992. It still stands up to this day. My rating would be 8/10 which puts it way beyond the overrated category. This is a must have pure and simple.
||Date: February 5, 2005 at 2:43|
|Cool down Chad. Read my rating. 7,5/10. And really its a matter of taste isnt it. Your ears are no better than mine, unless you have elephant ears. :-)
||Date: February 5, 2005 at 4:43|
|Thanks Chad. And you are very right. Its simple: This is a MUST HAVE
||Date: February 5, 2005 at 9:16|
|You're right Muddley. I overreacted. I just don't want others to be put off and not buy this album. I feel that whomever listens to this one will enjoy it. This is a good one. No doubt about it.
||Date: February 5, 2005 at 16:10|
|Thats cool Chad. The reason I wrote the comments are that ratings like 9/10 or 10/10, are way over the top. I have a nice collection of hard rock cd's. None of them is a 10/10. There is always 1 or 2 tracks that are not as good as the others, and thats why I dont think a 10/10 excist. The Hardline cd is good, and I listen to it frequently. www.hardrock1.webbyen.dk thats my collection and there are NO 10/10 in there. I hope the new Judas Priest will be a 10'er.
||Date: February 5, 2005 at 16:28|
|I hope you are right too Muddley! I hope it is more Turbo, Screaming, Point, etc., than Painkiller. Not a big fan of that album. I do like all of their other albums though. Really looking forward to it. There also has to be a 10/10 out there by other bands too. You do have a point with the way you explained your rating system. Makes sense to me. I will however rate a 10/10 if I really dig an entire album. Fillers can be good too. Just not toe curlers...Peace!

||Date: February 11, 2005 at 22:42|
|My 2 cents? This is a great album. After a slow start, 'Rhythm from a red car' is melodic hard rock at it's best, 'Change of Heart' and the stunning 'Can't find my way' are beautiful ballads, 'Everything' and 'Hot Cherie' are my faves - both are commercial hard rock heaven, 'Takin' Me Down' and 'Bad taste' are killer hard rockers, and the last few tracks are a nice, if unspectacular wind-down. I agree above with about 8/10. Great CD, some perfect tracks.
||Date: February 11, 2005 at 22:48|

Everything is just superb, vocals, guitar riffs and production all in a class of it own. Making a second album after such an incredible debut can only turn out to be disappointing...

|Strange !!! Mostly I agree with both Erik and certainly with swriter. But not on this very average release ! I still know the day it was released : I was looking forward to it, but the disppointment was BIG when I heard the result. And my best mate also expected a lot more than this poor hardrock record. We expected a KILLER AOR CD, not this. I'm still disappointed when I hear it, although I most confess that I don't listen to this again. No, give me Bad English any time, any day !
||Date: August 4, 2005 at 17:08|
|In the class of '92 that consists of some KILLER shit, 'Hardline' may just sit atop the class. You got WILDSIDE, WARRANT, SAINTS AND SINNERS, URULY CHILD, and HEAVY BONES....HUGE company! All with KILLER releases. HUGE! 'Double Eclipse' never seizes to amaze me, you even got a killer mid-tempo, probably equally killer to 'Let's Talk About Love' from UNRULY. The deep vocals with that harmony of Schon and Joey.......RIPPING! The inclusion of keyz! KILLER! 10 outta 10 for SURE!

|Yum Yum! Paid £1 for this in a charity shop whilst visiting Halifax and it's probably the best £1 I ever spent on music (except for the two Lions & Ghosts CD's I bought for the same price back home in Manchester). It's not a classic but it does have some great tracks on it like Rhythm ... and Change of Heart. A pretty solid release and definately worth a listen or 10.

|WOW what an album total killer songs can't stop listerning to them this album totally rule's. Every song is great, AOR freaky you have got no taste, comparing BAD ENGLISH to HARDLINE, defo no taste in music Bad English very light weight some good songs, and I do like the band (got all their albums). But you need a good slap, Johnny has a killer voice!!! NUFF SAID.

|This is in defense of Hollywood concerning who recorded Hot Cherie first. Daiv and Crash are incorrect in saying Streetheart covered Danny Spanos. Four of the guys from Streetheart wrote the song with producer Randy Bishop in late 1981. R.Bishop/K.Shields/J.Neil/D.Gutheil/K.Sinneave It was recorded in late 1981 but the record was shelved. It was finally released on Streetheart's 1984 record Burried Treasure. Spanos covered the song in 1983. Hold your head high Hollywood.

|I don't agree neither with AOR freaky nor with BIG-TIME.I expected a classic AOR album from Neal and Deen too, AOR freaky,but this ain't a bad album i think.Not a classic for certain, but not poor. BIG-TIME,we can do a comparison between HARDLINE and BAD ENGLISH i think,cause exist two same members in these bands and them always offered quality AOR and not just good HARDROCK.
||Date: October 6, 2005 at 11:53|
|People that dont look at this album as a total classic are not to be taken all that seriously IMO.
||Date: October 6, 2005 at 17:26|
|AOR has a different sound its more keyboards, and lighter guitars personally I prefer HARD ROCK (HARDLINE, ZERO, FIREHOUSE, VALENTINE,)to AOR. AOR is a bit to cheesy like ATLANTIC, BAD ENGLISH, BAD HABIT, BLUE TEARS, OPEN SKYZ, don't get me wrong I like AOR classic stuff, but you can't drive down the street with TIME STOOD STILL belting out of your car stereo it's just a no no. HARDLINE oh yes, play it and turn it up to 11, ERIK you got it bang on if you don't like this you dont like rock.
||Date: October 6, 2005 at 17:41|
|AOR for me is GIANT, FRONTLINE, STARSHIP now that is AOR, song's like it's not enough, SARA, and yes they did cheese, then there's THUNDER LIGHTNING, STAY (GIANT)quality stuff. I play keyboards and I think that some AOR is just to lame like ATLANTIC, FORTUNE, for me just no flow just cheese (on toast with tomato's). And Paul with you saying about a classic AOR album from Neal and Deen it was the gioeli brother's that wrote this album. Hope you don't mean Neal and Deen wrote this, Later ALL.

|As most people above have noted this one pretty much gets the thumbs up all round. No it isn't perfect & have to say that I also prefer the Giant albums (probably Hardline's nearest relative). This does have a couple of fillers, but the rest is pretty much spot on. Schon is great as usual & Johnny Gioeli has one hell of a voice. Production & the overall sound of the record is also spot on, giving a nice powerful sound allround. Classic - not quite, but a very very good release all the same.
||Date: October 11, 2005 at 12:43|
|Rhythm From a Red Car.......what can i say, excellent rocker, fast paced all the way!! Can't Find My Way and In The Hands of Time are great ballads, Hot Cherie and Takin Me Down, Change of Heart, Life's a Bitch and Dr. Love are all excellent cuts from this 90s Hard Rock band......too bad Brunette didn't release a s/t disc.

Great production, great songs, great group. The second studio release, though decent, could not compare to this gem. To anyone who thinks they've heard it all & doesn't own this one, BUY IT NOW. It surely ranks among the genres best ever. Essential Listening.

|Simply put, this is one of the best melodic rock releases ever!!! Songwriting by the Gioeli brothers, Neil Schon, and Mike Slammer. Need I say more on that. Monster melodies, killer hooklines, and massive choruses throughout made this the most overlooked gem of 1992. Still on my top 10 from that year. If you say you like great melodic rock done to perfection, then you owe it to yourself to add this to your collection IMEDIATELY!!!

||Date: March 24, 2007 at 15:54|
|Enoughs been said already. All I want to do is correct Hollywood, if it hasn't been done yet (so much has been said, I ain't gonna read it all). Hot Cherie was infact originally wrote and performed by Danny Spanos on the ablum Passion In The Dark. I think in 1983? I don't think Streetheart even covered it. What do I rate it? 9!
||Date: July 23, 2007 at 4:40|
|This is one of the most fantastic albums. I love Johnny Gioeli's vocals. I've some of his work from Brunette as well. It's a shame that these guys couldn't come back with another album like this. I have the Japanese version which has the bonus track 'Love Leads The Way'. I don't know why they chose to leave this song off the album. It's awesome. I even remember two of their songs being used for the Brandon Lee movie 'Rapid Fire'. They were the best part of the movie.

||Date: August 1, 2008 at 5:41|
|Very generic hard rock. Sorry to say this but I wasn't sold enough. This is an overrated album that only deserves 70/100 from me. I have heard this sound before from many other hair bands in America from that time. There is only one song that stands out for me and that is Hot Cherie I can live without the rest.
||Date: August 1, 2008 at 11:33|
|I'll agree with Zoner that this release isn't worth too much hype but it is pretty good nontheless. Hot Cherie, Rythm From a Red Car, Love Leads The Way, and Everything are my faves. I give it 75/100. Is pretty catchy and melodic hard rock but nothing to get overly excited about (aside from the good ones I like/mentioned). I don't really care too much for Gioeli's vocals but he does fit better here then he does now with Axel Rudi Pell in my opinion.

|A melodic hard rock masterpiece and one of the best examples of this musical style to emerge in the grungified early 90s. Possessing almost more talent than any one band should have the right to have, these boys knew what they needed to do and they did it with class, tearing up the tasty guitars, rapidfiring the red-hot hooks, crafting catchy choruses, belting out some big backing vocals, and slickening up the production without robbing it of its hard edge. This is the sort of stuff I can listen to over and over again, even though I know every note, every lick, every lyric. Pardon the obvious pun, but this album eclipses most other bands in the melodic hard rock genre.

|EXCELLENT record. Johnny Gioeli's vocal performance is phenomenal and the guitar work (handiwork courtesy of the legendary Neal Schon and the Gioeli bros.) is fantastic! Add Deen Castronovo on drums and you've got a group of musicians any performer would DIE to have in their band(s). "Life's a Bitch," "Rhythm From a Red Car," "Hot Cherie," "Bad Taste" and the ballad "Love Leads the Way" floor me. Any time one of them comes on, I just have to crank it up! This record is absolutely essential for any melodic rock fan. If you don't have it, you need, absolutely NEED to get it. Immediately!

|Great debut indeed...being more specific about this release(i wrote a little comment way back in 2007)well this album caught a lot of expectatives when it came out and obviously did it amazingly fine,great musicianship(Schon,Castronovo,Jensen & Joey Gioeli)top notch compositions backed with a fantastic vocalist(Johnny Gioeli)and quite a good marketing system behind them...best song for me is the awesome "Everything" then another killer ones are "Life's A Bitch","Rhythm From A Red Car","Takin' Me Down","Hot Cherie","Can't Find My Way"(this is a nice semi acoustic ballad) & "In The Hands Of Time"(a ballad,great ending track 4 sure)..a must have for people who like hard driven rocking songs with dosages of melody...enough said!.95/100

|Great commercial hard rock. A bit harder and more "glammy" than anything Bad English did and with a lot fewer keyboards thrown into the mix. The album explodes from start to finish but my favourite tracks are Life's A Bitch, Dr. Love, Rhythm From A Red Car, Everything and Can't Find My Way. No one who likes this genre would be disappointed. 95/100

|Musically, this reminds me of Firehouse, or maybe a harder version of Pyromania/Hysteria Def Leppard. Johnny has a perfect hard-rock voice: he can get gruff like Jon Bon Jovi, but at the same time, has a little of a nasal Klaus Meine thing going on (minus the accent, of course). Really strong melodies and semi-flashy guitar-playing; it sounds very '80's. I hear keyboards on several songs, but interestingly, the liner notes specify that no synkeys were used (although it does mention guitar synthsesizers). Best track, hands down, is "Hot Cherie," a true pop-metal gem, but I also like "Dr. Love," "Rhythm From A Red car," "Takin' Me Down" and "Bad Taste." "Can't Find My Way" is a great ballad, but I didn't care for the other two.

|few years ago my sister-Kati, wrote a comment on this album, well now is my turn. so from the very first moment I 've listened to it I liked it.great production, musicianship and very melodic indeed but maybe here's too many filler. I haven't heard any Journey's album but I did listened to bouth Bad english records and I liked them more than this album. my faves: Hot cherie, rhythm from a red car and everything

|excellent debut by HARDLINE with Neal Schon of course being the star!this one was meant to get bigger than it did but unfortunately didnt make it,maybe because of the video clips which were the way to success back in the day!anyway all the songs are great ,the musicianship pretty good and the hooks are all over and overall a great hair metal release!"life s a bithch","dr love","everything","takin me down","hot cherie" are monsterous songs and Eclipse essential to every hard rock collection

|Great CD. It's just that it came out in the lame duck year of 1992. That was the last good year for great rock and roll, before alternative took over completely!
