I just recently bought my fourth copy of this. From LP to cassette tape to CD to DVD audio disc...and still it remains one of my absolute favorite discs ever. Why? Everything about this cd just seems to be perfect, from the melodies to the perfomances, the whole thing is a piece of melodic heaven. Those that have the cd and are considering getting it on DVD audio (in 5.1 surround) GO FOR IT! Its WELL worth it. The mixing in this new version is mind blowing. Worth the upgrade!

Without doubt one of the best AOR albums ever.Everything came together for this great band on this album.Lou's vocals are as rich and soaring as ever, while Mick's guitar and keyboard playing features just the right mix of power, precision and melody.Night Life is a rocking opener, while tracks like Juke Box Hero,Luanne and Urgent (with great saxophone solo) rank as some of their best uptempo songs.Waiting for a Girl... and Girl on the Moon are both gorgeous ballads. An alltime classic album.

No, we speak all kinds og languages here. Youre right. It would be damn easier if everybody posted in English. Apart from that, this is a good cd. Its one of my alltime favorite cd's ever.

this was the last one that i really got into classic cd.

From: Rocker76 Date: October 31, 2003 at 11:57
A classic album from a classic rock band. Not a bad song on the album. Jukebox Hero & Urgent by themselves make the album worth having - throw in 'Waiting for a Girl Like You' and you've got the total package. No one does it like Foreigner - never have and never will. Gramm & Jones are my Lennon & McCartney!

From: miguel suba Date: November 21, 2003 at 14:29

From: robert Date: November 29, 2003 at 13:32
Y aqui ESTALLARON definitivamente!!! Una Obra sin duda MAgistral!! solo hay q escuchar: URGENT Y WAITING FOR A GIRL LIKE YOU, por poner 2 ejemplos. MAESTROS D LAS MELODIAS!!

From: Eddie Date: April 11, 2004 at 16:17
IMPRESIONANTE.

From: Jgg Date: April 16, 2004 at 17:00
LA VOZ DE LOU GRAMM, ES INCREIBLE, EL DISCO EN GENERAL ES MUY BUENO, PERO ESA SUPER BALADA,Waiting for a Girl Like You ,ES DE ANTOLOGIA,ES INCREIBLE ,ES UN DELEITE OIR ESTA EXTRAORDINARIA BALADA.

From: Rockhead Date: April 23, 2004 at 4:37
One of THE great make out CD's ever. Everything worked on this Cd great songs, solid production and Lou Gramm putting in a great vocal performance. This is a true classic of the 80's.

From: Elton Braga Date: July 30, 2004 at 19:34
Listen it if you can! It's pretty good! I bought this LP knowing only 'Waiting For A Girl Like You' and became surprised with the rest! 9.0!

From: keepthefaith Date: December 9, 2004 at 8:38

From: Big Papa K Date: December 24, 2004 at 8:46
Before this, Foreginer albums to me were very patchy. The hits were all quite good, but there was just too much filler. This album changes that. Sure, 'Jukebox Hero', 'Urgent', and 'Waiting For A Girl Like You' are great, but the album tracks such as 'Break It Up', 'Night Life', and 'Luanne' are just as good. The second side is slightly weaker, but this is the peak of Foreigner. 9/10

'y es de 1981???? sencillamente impresionate.

I guess this one is for the Journey fans out there. Ultra light commercial AOR and not my cup of tea at all. Almost pop-like. I like at least one testicle in my music (As in half a set of balls, not a literal testical). This is just so soft it's awful... to me... oh, and the songs don't appeal to me either

Geoff - now go and wash your mouth out . This, for a some of us balless AOR fans is like a bible - a classic in how to make an AOR record. Great rock tracks in 'Night life', 'Jukebox Hero' & the perfect AOR soundtrack of 'Break It Up'. The band also put on a masterclass in how to write the perfect ballad in 'Waiting For A Girl Like You', 'Girl On The Moon' & 'Im Gonna Win'. For me ,this all adds up to near perfection & in it's genre, one of the best AOR records ever released.

From: Swriter Date: February 26, 2005 at 23:11
agreed Jez, being in a rock band in the early 80's, not much harder rock to play, this one came out, and did have the radio hits, but Break it Up, Nightlife, JHero, Win and Man are among the greatest early 80's rock tunes. The whole album to this day, just flows nicely. This is a masterpiece and I have alot of top tens(hahaha) but I do not say masterpiece to often. This in my mind, is one!!!

From: Joan Date: March 16, 2005 at 6:17
El mejor de Foreigner! Urgent, Juke box hero, Waiting for a girl.., Girl on the moon...impresionante.

From: Remastered Reason Date: January 19, 2006 at 21:39
This album is no less essential than their first. In fact, it may have an edge due to the time period of the early 80's when arena rock soared higher than a kite. Actually, which came first? Arena rock or Foreigner? Hard to say for certain but at the very least, Foreigner was a frontrunner in the genre. A Classic.

From: rene Date: February 8, 2006 at 16:54
My fave FOREIGNER album of course. What a killer album of pure hard aor, hard rock or melodic metal, its all in one. Listen to songs like NIGHT LIFE, JUKE BOX HERO or URGENT, killers!!!!!!!!!!!!This is a buy or die release. If you realy love our music, stop downloading. Its fucking gay and spend your money on our music. If you dont do it, who will???

From: YIRO SEVENTH Date: June 23, 2007 at 15:29
AWESOME AOR ALBUM!!! OBLIGADO TENERLO!!!

From: Rycheage Date: September 14, 2007 at 21:09
Bringing "Mutt" Lange on board made this the most consistent release of their career. It is great but just shy of spectacular. "Juke Box Hero" and "Urgent" are an AOR fan's wet dream. "Waiting For A Girl Like You" was and still is one of the most beautiful ballads ever written. But that said there is some filler, not bad filler, but filler nonetheless.

From: edwithmj Date: April 21, 2009 at 17:57
This is a good album but it's by no means their best. Double Vision will always be my favourite Foreigner disc. Some of the songs on here are just too poppy I'm afraid. Perhaps it will grow on me I don't know.

From: Faron Date: August 28, 2009 at 19:15
Classic album, all great to fantastic songs. Waiting For A Girl Like You is the ultimate rock ballad. A fantastic rocky opener in Nightlife, Urgent is superb with some great saxaphone! All in all, a really great album.

From: darobinson Date: March 8, 2010 at 18:23

From: hair metal again Date: May 18, 2011 at 4:53
excellent release, one of the classics of hard rock music history.mick jones and lou gramm are the stars in performing and songwriting.john "mutt" lange in production does the job and the result is monsterous:"waiting for a girl like you","urgent","don t let go","break it up" and "night life" are simply outstanding.essential hard rock

You guys that actually read my comments are going to be shocked, but I have always really liked "Waiting For A Girl Like You." And I'm not even a big fan of Foreigner. There's just something so icy about that song that appeals to me. This album was released the summer I celebrated my first birthday, so I don't remember it per se, but I swear, certain songs I seem to have phantom memories of. I can almost reach them, but can't quite grab ahold. Foreigner (and AOR in general) were at their peak in '81, so for large masses of people, this is what passed for hard rock at that time. Metal, as it existed then, was still a couple years from truly going mainstream. Makes me think of a quote from Lars Ulrich, about putting an ad in a music magazine for other metalheads to jam with, and getting replies from people who said, "I like metal, I like Kansas, I like Styx." What can I say? It was a different time.

hey doghouse my friend in 1980 i was 20.i was in the french army in germany in neustadt weinstrasse ,a very beautiful town with very very nice german peoples.a fantastic souvenir for me.don t be shame about "waiting for a girl like you "from foreigner it s one of the more beautiful ballads of the history with the scorpions s ballads.better ? i don t see.it s a real hit wich stay in the history of the music in general.i can say that you have very very good taste.

From: Thomas/Coastline Date: March 9, 2021 at 17:29
Foreigner – 4, released in 1981 is without a doubt one of the best classic AOR/Melodic Rock albums of our time. This commercially successful and platinum-selling masterpiece was recorded at Electric Lady Studios in New York and produced by John Mutt Lange/Mick Jones. With songwriting and musicianship at its peak they created great rock songs like “Night Life”, “Break It Up” and “Luanne”, as well as the three major radio hits: “Juke Box Hero”, “Waiting For A Girl Like You” and “Urgent”. The remaining material is equally as good in terms of quality, so this well liked and essential recording gets 10/10 points.
